Carl's The Sims 3 Guide/Walkthrough

Site News:
With the release of World Adventures, we've shifted gears to begin covering the new expansion as quickly as possible. Guides to Martial Arts, Nectar Making, and Photography have already been added. Both should help greatly in your pursuit of these new skills. I'll be improving the existing guides with the new additions as well. For example, the expansion adds new fish, collectibles, plants for the garden, objects, and other items. Lastly, a guide to what's new in World Adventures has been published. Check back for more news. The World Adventures page will be updated with information and links to new guide sections as quickly as we can.
If you haven't yet bought the expansion, I give it a solid recommendation. I've played the Sims 3 a lot as you can tell, and World Adventures has breathed new life into it for me. Completing dungeons and collecting new items is a blast, and I'm in love with the new skills, especially Martial Arts. Head to our forum to ask questions about the game. Questions lead to help, which leads to more and more info for other players to enjoy.
What You'll Learn on the Site:
Look to the navigation menu for links to all sections of the guide. You'll find guides to every skill here. I cover each skill and provide help for completing their challenges. You'll also find info about what each skill can do for your Sim once they've mastered it.
Careers
I've also covered careers here on the guide. You'll find a list of all careers in the game. This list features information on the top level jobs in each career, and what special abilities your Sim will get when they reach that promotion. Different careers help your Sims in different ways. For example, The Mad Scientist can improve household objects, Rock Stars can sign autographs, and Law Enforcement Sims get a Police Cruiser to drive, and can keep it after they quit work or change careers!
Cheats
Not only have I listed the cheats for the Sims 3, I've given helpful instructions for using the codes. Cheating's not my thing, but there are powerful codes that can be found in the command console to tweak your gaming experience. Unlimited energy, the ability to move objects and build unique homes, and change careers at a whim are all possible. Of course you'll find the standard money cheats here as well.
Lifetime Wishes and Rewards
Lifetime Wishes and Rewards are also extensively covered. You'll find a guide to all of the lifetime rewards in the game, and how they can help your Sim live a happy life. Each and every one does something unique and helpful, so my advice is to shop around to find the best one for your Sim before you buy.
On the Lifetime Wish front, you'll find info on each of the lifetime wishes, so that you can find the one that suits your gameplay style. I have written a number of Sims 3 Character Walkthroughs as well, detailing good traits for different job/lifetime wish combos.
Traits
With regards to traits, I've written a lot. In my trait guide, there is a list of traits, along with what lifetime wishes they inspire. There's also info on all of the benefits (and penalties!) your Sim will receive when they have a particular trait. On most of the skill and character walkthroughs, I also list what traits are best for each of the careers and self employment jobs I've played thus far. Selecting good traits for your Sim is important to their success, so start picking through the list and learn about the various effects they give.

Post tips for money making, career progress, lifetime rewards and wishes and anything else you can think of. New sections will be added as the tips page grows.

Sims 3 Lifetime Rewards List
I cover every Lifetime Reward in the Sims 3 in an effort to help players choose the best ones. Sims 3 Lifetime Wish Walkthroughs

A listing of all skills in the Sims 3. You'll find the links to all my skill guides on this page. This list is now complete, and does cover every one in detail. I also provide tips to help you raise any Sim's skills fast.
Sims 3 Traits List
This is a listing of all standard traits in the Sims 3. The special traits will come soon. For now, all the normal traits have been listed with information on what they do (or do to) your Sims. Tips and info about each trait are provided to help answer "What traits are good for..?" questions, to help you get the most out of your create-a-sim experience.
To help players seeking particular lifetime wishes, I made a list for each trait. The list describes what lifetime wishes will appear almost always when making a Sim with only one trait. This is useful so you can know, with confidence, that if you continue to roll that particular set of traits you will eventually get the wish you really want for your Sim.
