The Sims 3 Showtime LogoThe Sims 3 Showtime Upgrade
I'm working to add new guides for The Sims 3 Showtime which came out Tuesday March 6, 2012. This time, Rob Kennedy (Hosfac) is also helping and will be releasing a few guides for the site. I'll add new additions as they are ready. The first on this list is Achievements (Badges) that people are more intersted in now that the Social features of The Sims 3 have been applied with a patch. The list is printable, searchable with Control + F and should be helpful to achievement hunters be they hardcore or casual.

Achievements List current for The Sims 3 Showtime.
Showtime Overview - guide to new content and links to other related pages.
Genie - Guide covering everything from making wishes to genie babies.
Acrobat mime, juggle and flaming backflip your way to the top.

Download a new, free Sims 3 World - Union Cove by Carl and Pam's Sims 3 Forum

Union Cove Released

I am delighted to share with the Sims 3 community a new World created by some of the best builders of our Forum. The beautiful town above is known as Union Cove, and it's a sight to behold. This is the most detailed world I've seen for The Sims 3 yet. It's fully balanced with an appropriate amount of spawners, and richly detailed with perhaps the most objects in a town, ever. We invite you to have a look at the new World. You can also download it free of charge with no hassle. Enjoy!

This was a secret on the forum. Several members have been running around with the rank of Top Secret for a long time. It is a special rank that gave them access to a hidden board, so they could create this work of art behind the scenes. I'd had the picture below running for a long time. It's actually the awesome "Carl's Castle" that Joria built for me for UC! A little patch of this new beauty was hiding in plain sight.

Carl's Castle, A Beautifully built home by Joria of our Sims 3 Forum

Build and Edit Section Opened
Head to the new Build and Edit section to learn about Building Houses, Edit Town, Lot Types, and little tweaks like making better pools and roofs. You'll also learn how to move and switch neighborhoods. Thanks to all members who helped make this section possible.

A Side Project: Rift
I am working on a side project I thought I'd mention here, as some of our audience could currently play or be interested in trying Rift. I'm working with Rob (hosfac) to make a class guide for Rift. Our goal is to work in guides to souls for all four callings, such as the Rogue and Mage. We've put together several of the soul pages to demonstrate what we're trying to do. Rob published Chloromancer, and I've put up Assassin and Bard. The game really is quite fun, or we wouldn't have been inspired to cover it like this. It is going to take hundreds of hours of work. When I'm done, I'll continue development here on The Sims 3 site. Thankfully, a few friends of the site are working on projects to expand the building guide even further, and we will soon cover the Stuff Packs (long overdue).

2012 Challenge Tournament Open
The final Sims 3 challenge tournament is upon us. Sign up at the forum to participate. You must compete in three events to be eligible for a World Ranking and a shot at the $50 gift card prize and champion's plaque.

Aside from Pets coverage, we are also working to expand the Guide's building section. The Townie DecaDynasty

Today, Challenge Coordinator Metropolis Man released his new creation, the Townie DecaDynasty. This new Sims 3 Challenge will see players through improving townie households and producing dynasty-worthy heirs. You'll move into a townie household, birth an heir, fulfill the requirements for that heir, and be able to advance. Keeping track of all these unique requirements would be a chore, but forum member Gheez has made a spreadsheet. Tom (Metro) has created a challenge that does not require any specific expansion pack, so any Sims 3 owner can play. If your Simming is getting stale, or you're looking to prove your skill at directing the little people, try the Townie DecaDynasty! Be sure to read the full rule set to understand the requirements of an heir. You may give cheers and ask questions in the thread I linked.

It is an exciting time for us, because we find that our many hours of work will now be viewed by players with the Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii versions of the game. I encourage you to tell me if there are large differences in skills or other game features as compared to what we have on the guide. If enough differences exist, a section of that article could be dedicated to listing those differences. Feel free to email carl@carlsguides.com

If you don't yet have an account, sign up at our forum to provide tips and tricks, suggestions, and corrections to the guide. You'll be helping me to improve something that has helped over 100,000 Simmers from around the world.
