The Sims 3 Military Career Track

This Sims 3 Guide was originally written for the PC and Mac versions of the game, but also will help owners of the console versions - PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii. Please remember some info or numbers may have changed.

Military Career Track in the Sims 3The military career track will require the Athletic and Handiness skills. Athletic will come first, so it's the skill your Sim should start hitting early. To apply for the military career track in the Sims 3, have them go to the military base. There aren't really any special bonuses for the upper level job in this career, but it is quite unique. Astronauts work one day a week and make a massive sum of cash in that one day, more than enough to live on. Your Sim can then spend the rest of the week working on their hobbies and other skills.

Lifetime Wishes Associated with this Career Track
    ,
  • Become an Astronaut - This is the only really obvious choice for an easy with for the Military career. Starting in this career can lead to many other different job opportunities as you rise in the ranks however, so you could be creative.

Military Career Events

There are a number of minor events which can result in promotions and job performance increases. Along the way, you'll have multiple opportunities to jump to different career tracks. Military is a springboard for other careers, just as in in life. However, assuming you stick with your guns and rise to the top, you will not see many events. Astronauts only get one event with a choice: either break rank and meet a cute reporter or brush off the reporter. You should always brush them off, because trying to get their phone number will result in your Sim having an embarassed moodlet.

Good Traits for The Sims 3's Military Career Track

Athletic
Even latrine cleaners need a little athletic skill. This is used heavily throughout the career track. Take athletics to help your Sim raise the skill faster.

Handy
Handiness will appear early in the career track, so military men and women will do well with this trait. It will make the skill go up faster, and upgrading their home will be a cinch because they'll never fail.
