Well, I finally finished this last night!

I'm working a couple nights starting tonight. I wanted this challenge done this weekend so I could play with Twinbrook some more when I see daylight again on Wednesday.

Mr. Treasure Hunter spent 23 days on vacation and ran around until Week 7, Day 3 to obtain the last piece. (I believe that's 68 days.)
I then promptly moved him and his stuff to a bigger lot and built the guy a much deserved mansion.

This challenge was a lot of fun!

Until the next one,
lilygirl

Please add me to the leader board for this one. I'll start this as soon as I finish House Hunters. I'm way behind on the challenges right now but I'm off from work this week so I should have a chance to catch up.

Holy cow I think I've pulled out all my hair but I'm finally done at week 4, day 2 at home, 11 days of vacation - which I think is 41 days total?

Nope. Delgar wishes is was 41.  ;) It's 34. Smokin'. Yeah, Week 4, Day 2 translates to 3 full weeks plus 2 days of the 4th week (23). Well done.

This is one of the hardest things I've done in awhile.  Is there any place where I could get help in finding a couple of the rarest items?  I'm spending way too much time on this just for two bugs!  Flirting and getting romantic was not my cup of tea either, but I actually romanced Gobias!  Ewwww!  (Yes, I was truly desperate.)
What?  Grannies can't play games?
I speak perfect Nooblik, (and some Simlish)!

Absolutely. Just post your question in the General section.

Though I have very little experience with collecting and almost none with the transfiguration, yet this really sounds like fun, and I'd love to play it. It will be my first challenge though, so I have a question: do I have to keep a detailed track of when I buy which item, the sims I take out for dinner etc, or take some photos as I progress? Or just post the final time?

Thanks for the welcome! This challenge is just what I needed to make the game more interesting. I'm sure I'll have fun doing it and also around the forums.

Miau, you aren't the only one.  I haven't really done any collecting or transfiguring, either, but this challenge sounds really fun.  It'll be my first, too.

So, I'm in!

Hey Metro,

I'm in for this one, although as I've never done anything with collecting before I doubt it will do much to raise me off the bottom of the tournament leader board!  ;)

Thanks

Aby

Some poor decisions early, but some really horrible, horrible luck.  Did I mention bad luck?  Ugh.

Learned a lot though from my first challenge & have some great strategies for the next one.  Pam, I tried to beat you!  :)

Home time: Week 9, Day 5
Vacation time: 35 days

If my math is correct, that's 103 days total.

If my math is correct, that's 103 days total.

It's not correct, and you made a common mistake — you're thinking you did 9 full weeks, plus 5 days. You finished in the 9th week. That means 8 full weeks, plus 5 days. So, your town time + vacation time = 96 days.

Since I know I'm not going to run out of timem is it ok to leave aging on? It's just that I'm dabbling in the wishmaster's quartet at the same time (really need a break from those 4 sims!) and aging needs to be on for that one.

I know Metro has already said this is ok, but I just have a question about story progression. If aging is turned off, does that mean the townies don't age also and if that's correct, by turning it on wouldn't that mean that you would potentially have more people aging up and thus have more possible romantic interests than someone with aging turned off?

It's not a concern to me, Norma. There are plenty of Romantic Interests available to anyone whether aging is on or off. I don't see it as a competitive advantage at all. Nancy just wanted permission to do it to avoid getting DQ'd in other events that do require aging be on.

FWIW, I've also been avoiding romancing those that would be teenagers with aging off (Bebe Hart, Holly Alto, Ethan Bunch)

Thanks Metro, as you had already cleared it, I figured it probably wasn't a problem. It was just something that I wondered about, mainly because I don't do a lot of romancing in the game (my sims usually live very solitary lives) and I find it hard to find romantic interests.
And Nancy, please don't think i was knocking you. As I said it was just something that crossed my mind.

The name of this challenge sure wasn't kidding! This was the craziest collecting I've ever done!

I finished on Week 7, Day 6. I spent 12 days on vacation.

I think that works out to 60 days total.  :)

I truly must be the world's worst Sims3 player.  I start playing around 9 am, (don't sleep till 4 am), so I'm playing pretty much steadily from 9 am till 4 in the morning, that's about 18 hours a day because I do nap, eat and whatever and I STILL can't make good time with this challenge.  I think I get side tracked and do things my Sim really doesn't need to do.  I'm currently at week 15, day six with 70 travel days.  sigh  One last skull to make and I'm done.  Can we say, "epic fail"?  You guys are going to have to teach me how to plan these things out differently, (please and thank you).
