Glad the rules got changed!!!  In my 10 years of Simming I never have, and never will, purchase a Stuff Pack.  Like Nancy said, it's just EA's way to scam more money than necessary off of us.  And don't even get me started about The Store! lol  If it wasn't for free items I'd never go there.

Count me in!  I've been doing a lot more collecting lately, so I'm hoping I at least come half way up the letter-board. lol  I'm kind of surprised that there isn't some sort of relic collection included, but I can see why it isn't.  It would take a lot more time to get and this is a "race". :)

Yeah, really. It's called "I'm lazy and this is what CAS gave me." :) Can you imagine if a potential Romantic Interest could actually put up an anti-clothing thought bubble? —like his shirt with a big red strike through it. Too funny.

Would be awesome but I think trying to programatically quantify good dress sense is a bit beyond current capabilities - although I'm hoping with the new expansion I'll be able to force good style on the town :) I really need to make some more clothes before the expansion comes out.

The rules say:

Adventures Collection—Complete 8 different Adventures while on your vacations. Location does not matter. Write down the official names on some paper to keep organized.

Does that mean 8 separate adventure chains?

Or 8 parts of an adventure chain?

The way Pam explained it to me is that each separate titled Adventure that is part of a longer chain is indeed a separate Adventure. So, for example, even though Seeking Adventure in China is a very short chain, I believe it still contains 2 distinct Adventures. Just write down all of the titles on a sheet of paper and you'll be fine. When you complete the 8th one, you're done and you would not need to continue with whatever chain you were in.

Im in.
The first time i heard about your challenge idear i deffintly thought that plants and fish would be some of the collections we should get - maybe also recipies and artifacts.

Pam and I (she helped write this rule set with collections #5-#8) kicked around fish, recipes and plants early on, but since Perfectly Happy already touched on all of those I decided to go in a much different direction with the first 4 collections.

And what about collecting all the fishes and put them on the wall? In high quality of course. That could be something.
Besides that, I miss the spiral gem cut form. That could maybe be something to! I mean, to actually finish this challenge it will take so long that we will probably see the members who participate on this not back before the 6 expansion or so. :P
But don't get me wrong, I like this challenge. I think I will join this one day, now there is no timelimit.

And there could be a million more collections too, but the rule set is done. 8 collections is plenty.

There is a time limit as there always is. There's a definite start time and a finish time for all challenges.

I really want to take part in this for some reason!  ;D But I suppose I will have to finish the political one first, seeing as it ends first. This will be a long challenge, the longest I have taken part in!   :D

For sure count me in on this one, sounds very fun. I know I have 2 other challenges to complete, but I get a week off from school soon and should be able to catch up. School has been taking my Sim time away in bulks.  :'(

Thanks for the great challenge idea!

I think I'm gonna have to back out of this challenge, just a ton going on in real life at the moment and my play time is getting reduced.  Maybe if things calm down before this one expires I'll give it a go.  I'll let you know. :)

Oh my, I've been away from the Sims and the forum for a little while.. I do that at times, I get caught up in another game or hobby or something and I forget my poor little simmies. But I always come back to them in time. Now there are new challenges to participate in. I see that I have missed the end date for the career grand slam, not to worry, I wasn't really enjoying that one (what with my criminal husband landing in jail every couple of days)
I think I have time to finish off my baby boomer one and I think I'll have a go at this one, although I'm not sure about the wining and dining side of things as that is yet another aspect of the game I don't enter into much.
mmm one question though (and I clearly have to go and get my game updated to the latest patch) is that problem with the assassin beetles resolved? I know last time I was playing, I could not collect them.

Yes, I believe I read in some patch notes that this was fixed.

Everyone is allowed to begin in just two days, so please reread the ruleset and ask any needed clarifications. Good luck everyone! I'm not sure if I will be beginning on Friday or not. My family will be traveling this coming Memorial weekend to visit my mom for a few days, and there's lots to do to get ready on Friday.

My mom does have a computer with internet, so I'll be checking the Challenge section. Not as much as I do when I'm home of course, but don't worry — leaderboards will be updated when I get a chance.

-------

EDIT: What a riot. As I'm typing this my mom calls and tells me her computer is dead and she'll need to get a new one!  ;D So, the bottom line is — don't worry about my absence for a few days. The leaderboards (all of them) will be promptly updated when I return on Monday. Pam, I leave all rules interpretations in your competent hands while I'm gone. Those I definitely would prefer being resolved quickly so players can get on with their advancement. Pam, if you're unsure of anything, then I'll make the call on Monday.

The strategy options in this one are quite fascinating and ambiguous.  Count me in, if I survive the Toddlerpocalypse in the Baby Boomer Challenge.

Can someone please explain to me what it means by taking your romantically involved sim on a date to the movies? I've tried this, I take them to the place, yet they never go inside to see the movie with my Sim, is there a way you're supposed to do this?

I've been thinking about that, too, Livvie.  We may need to change the wording a little because I don't think a date at the theater is possible.  The Bistro works because you get the option to eat there with others.  I think concerts at the stadium work that way, too, but I'm not certain.
