No, unfortunately, in my game it can only say "Attend Concert", there is no "Attend Concert with..." and games are simply the same way. :/

Hmmm...not sure what to say. I did not provide an exhaustive list in the rules for examples, so I'm not 100% sure of all activities that would qualify. Obviously, 2 Sims need to be on a lot for the cue to even come up.

Well, is there a way you could take the sim on a picnic or something maybe? Something where you can somewhat control that they are both doing it.

Just going on a picnic to Central Park with someone would not involve spending any money. You need to choose something like eating a meal at the Bistro where money is taken out of your funds.

I've got a large family loaded, so I'll test for all the places they can go on "dates" with other Sims.

Okay, everyone. Pam just clarified to me that only the Bistro and Diner qualify for the Wine and Dine Collection. So, it kind of works out nicely given the name of the collection. :) Here's the revised wording:

Wine and Dine Collection—Hit the Romantic Interest relationship level with 8 different Sims. You must also take each Sim on a date to the Bistro or Diner and have a meal together.

(Thanks, Pam)

OK, how hard can wining and dining be? I will give it a go, so please add me to the leader board too.

Pam or Metro,

I just noticed that the bottom of the leaderboard doesn't look right, and I wanted to make you aware, in case it messes up further once the competition actually starts.

I have a question about the dates. Does the person in question have to be a romantic interest when we take them to the bistro or can that happen before? I'm still playing around in practice trying to learn how to get the best out of my display table and how to get relationships up to romantic interest and I took one of my sim's best friends out to dinner to try and boost the relationship and just wondered if that would count or if I would have to take her out again after she became a romantic interest.

BTW even though I am just learning the transfiiguration stuff, I still think that when I start for real, it's going to be the dating that will slow me down  :(

It doesn't matter, Norma. As long as you eventually get a Sim to the Romantic Interest level I don't care if you have the date preceding that level or during that level.

Okay, everyone — I'll be in and out of the forums less frequently than is typical for me over the next few days. I'll be visiting my mom for some fun with the family. I've already informed Pam to field questions if I am not available. Turns out my mom is supposedly getting a new computer today so I should be able to update all leaderboards as my time allows. But, be patient as the updates may take a little patience on your part.

Take care, everyone.

Hmm, there is a new metal "woohooium" and a new gem "flourite palmstone" in ambitions, as well as a miner machine made by the inventor. I wonder if these will impact the challenge.

I guess we'll find out when we get there. I'm very reluctant to change rulesets once they have been posted unless something truly breaks. Someone PM'd me and said the new Perceptive trait will help someone learn traits faster and may assist anyone in the Political Traiter Challenge. But, anyone with the Observant reward can also do so very quickly, so I just don't know.

Yay, This fits in very nicely with my Half Term Week which is just beginning!  ;D Now to get as much done as I can before I get Ambitions!

The prima guide says the new gem and metals are made by sculpting rock statues. I'll test how fast the miner is, and send you results tonight, if you want.

It probably complicates things, but can you score vacation time with an adjustment for the eight hours you lose at the start of each vacation?

i.e. A three-day vacation is really only 2 2/3 days.

Those lost chunks of 8 hours start adding up.

Reading the description under Perceptive it only affects learning the logic skill faster. Besides that it provide the owner to learn the traits of other sims faster during conversations.

What difference does it make if everyone follows the same standard? It's just total days for everyone, so it does not matter.

What difference does it make if everyone follows the same standard? It's just totoal days for everyone, so it does not matter.

Example A:  14 days at home 2x 3 day trips abroad to each location = 32 days = 720 hours
Example B:  14 days at home 1x 6 day trips abroad to each location = 32 days = 758 hours
Example C:  5  days at home 3x 3 day trips abroad to each location = 32 days = 696 hours

In each case the total days is 32 but the number hours is considerably different.

I'm sorry but I'm just not going to score hours. Too much of a headache. The rules have been posted for more than a week.

-----------

EDIT: That may have come across as a little harsh. Nancy, you're way too smart for me not to point out that your logic is sound. I'm just going for simplicity for everyone's benefit. And of course, your examples will be helpful for anyone with the ...ahem...Perceptive trait. ;)

I think that it would be fair to stipulate that anyone who gets Ambitions during the course of any existing challenge should not use anything from it to their advantage.  We don't know exactly what will be in the new expansion pack, so how about it we just say not to use anything from it during a challenge that started before it came out?  Metro, what do you think?

If my opinion counts for anything, I agree with Pam.  Everyone should do the update that will come out along with Ambitions, but just don't use any of the new content until you are done with this event.
