I'm currently at week 4 with 19 travel days gone and still so much to do. I'm hoping 1 more holiday will do me, but I have a feeling it will take more plus of course there are things to do at home that I more or less suck at lol.
I'm determined to finish soon (I hope) so I can move on and finish the random challenge, but I have to keep giving up the computer to my kids  >:(

@Joria:  I did lots of things I didn't have to do, too.  It was a really fun challenge for me and I didn't rush through it.  I'm never anywhere near the top of the leaderboard and usually fairly close to the bottom.  But it's great fun and that's what's important to me.  :D

I'm with you on that Pam!  When it started to become stressful I'd just keep doing the challenges but in a more relaxed, let's play the game for fun, way.  Probably why it is taking so long.  Those pink diamonds and opals are a pain even when you know where they often spawn.  Often = every 3/4 days!  The only part of it I really hate is that stupid airplane! lol  I did not pick the biggest lot but chose a scenic one, next to Stoney Falls, so that airplane really dwarfs everything else.  Then again, I suppose it would no matter where it was.  Tonight I'm going to bed early, (for me anyway).
What?  Grannies can't play games?

lol, I think my game is broken. I have a grand total of 5 opals and no pink diamonds. The way it's going, I'm never going to get that pink diamond skull cut, but I have been doing a few things that I hadn't done before, so even if I'm way down the list of finishers (if I ever finish that is) it's been fun.

Pink Diamond spawns are rare but there are other ways to get them. You can get the skull cut with just 1 but its like a 1/8 chance.  If you want to start a thread in misc help I can give you some pointers. If you're waiting to get 8 in the wild, its going to take a long time but getting none doesn't mean your game is broken, just that you're having really rotten luck. In one of my early tests I spent 15 days in france and not 1 glowy butterfly. Other times it's been there when I arrive.

I was only joking about my game being broken lol. I know they are there and different tips to getting them, but this particular game file isn't co-operating. I know my game is fine because my daughter keeps telling me how many pink diamonds she has, but she isn't playing a challenge and is getting them because of Ambitions (I may have to cancel her Sim privileges if she doesn't stop gloating lol).
I'll just plod along and do what I can and just enjoy the ride.

Ok, I definitely get E for effort here.  I finally am done.  WOOT!  If I am not the last name on the leader board I will be very surprised, but hey, at least I kept on going.  I don't quit at anything.  Too stubborn I guess.  Or tenacious.  Ok, week 18 day 5 at home and a whopping 96 days on travel!  My math says 227 days to finish this.  What a hoot.

Nope. Today's your lucky day. My math say 220 days, so that means you moved from the spot you current occupy on the leaderboard to the new spot and improved spot on the leaderboard!  :D Seriously, well done for sticking it out, Joria.

Oh my, I am so over pink diamonds. It was weird, I didn't see any for ages, then once I got one, it seemed no time and I had quite a few. Lol, and I thought the romance part was what was going to slow me down.

So Darn finished her collecting on week 7, day 6 with 31 days on holidays, so 79 days?

Here she is with part of her collection. I couldn't get the plane and fountain and other things in the shot. For the pic, I had thought of throwing a party and inviting all her romantic interests, but thought better of it, lol.

Please sign me up.  I haven't done much with collections in-game, and this challenge looks like fun.  Thanks!

Aargh! I spent about half my time solely on pink diamonds and plutonium, but finally I finished. I'm going to take a long break from collecting. My final time was:

Town time: Week 10 Day 3
Vacation Time: 14 days
Total Time: 80 Days?

I think I've added it up correctly.

The rules say that we're only allowed one shot at this, but if our computer got stolen and we had to switch to our other computer, are we allowed to start over?

My dad's house got ransacked, so I now have to put my Sims 3 games on my mom's computer.  My games that I saved are now gone and I'm not getting them back, so it would be wonderful if I could have an exception, please.  I can't believe I have to start over on this challenge, though - right after I find two pink diamonds and a Glowy Butterfly!

Absolutely, no problem. Sorry to hear about what happened to your dad.

That was one heck of a challenge! I finished on week 4 day 7 and had 12 vacation days, so 40 days. And I now have a sim on a tiny lot with the two enormous statues in his front yard and 18 magical gnomes, from the gem cutting, in the back yard :)
I have to say, I learned a lot about playing the Sims while practicing and doing the challenge, things I had overlooked while just playing.

Thanks!

Finally done.  Thanks for a great challenge!

I finished on Week 4, Day 5, with 20 vacation days logged.  I believe that gives me a score of 46.

Wowm that was a hard challenge. I finally finished on Week 8, Day 7, with 41 vacation days! Those pink diamonds are trouble. But I just went back and saw that I shouldn't have used Ambitions stuff and I did. So darn, take my name off the board. I don't even want to know how long it would have taken me otherwise. Not too bad, though, except that I cheated and didn't even realize it till now. Oh well, it was fun anyways!

Don't worry about it. If you really feel like doing some Ambitions stuff gave you a competitive edge, then fine, I'll remove you. But, given your current position I really don't know if it's necessary.

Well, let's see. I used the consignment shop to buy a miner and used that in the end to find two pink diamonds and bought one Jade gem from the consignment shop after getting one cut wrong. But that is the only thing I used it for. So I will leave it to you to decide!
