Any plans to redo this challenge to include WA content?

Absolutely. It would be very simple to do. I may even make where you'd play 2 Sims, so it would be quite as time consuming. Plus, I think next time around I'll allow Mid-Life Crisis. That would really add to the strategy.

As I'm at a loose end until January 22nd (roll on the next challenge) I thought I'd give this a go. I'm going to include the three new skills from WA, as I've never done the photography challenges. I'm only allowing my sim 1 trip to each destination, mainly to pick up the equipment needed. I'll be using Happy again (I miss her already  :o ) and wonder if it will even be possible to complete before she shuffles off the mortal sim coil. So although this attempt is not officially part of this challenge, it might provide some pointers for the revised challenge you're planning. I'm excited already - I love having a goal to play for, and although Legacies are fine, they just don't hold my attention enough.

Ok - had a rethink on using Happy, as I'd like different traits. Lottie Skillimanger is taking on this particular challenge, which is purely for fun and the pleasure I'll get from playing a sim to her max on the long lifespan. I think I've been missing out by playing on normal for so long - well my sims certainly have

I'm glad you decided not to use Happy because I would not have been able to count your score on the leaderboard.

Is that because Happy is an existing Sim that already has some skills?  And we have to start a new Sim from scratch for the challenge?

Of course. It's implicit that "Create" a Young Adult Sim means you're not using an old Sim.

When I was going to use Happy, I was going to retrieve her from the bin and reuse her from scratch again. Like I'd just created her, and without any skills etc.  But I didn't, because I decided on different traits. I shall always create a new sim from scratch for all future challenges just so as not to break any rules.
Anyhow, I was only trying this for fun, but have run into a small problem trying to max the WA skills. I'm not that versed in WA, and didn't realise that one of the martial arts challenges was to win a tournament. Also sparring could be difficult when the sim returns home, as no-one else in the original town has any martial arts experience. I'm really sad, because it was all going so well. I think if you do rehash this challenge to include WA skills, it will have to have specific guidelines regarding the martial arts challenges. I'm not sure if photography has country specific challenges, as I've never really tried it out, but that may need some investigation too. So I gave up, and will wait for an official relaunch, if and when you can iron out all the potential headaches WA skills pose. I think the original idea for the challenge was awesome. I shall try a different challenge until nectar making on 22nd January. I'm glad your not making serving nectar part of the challenge. Even with the 'Legendary Host' reward, I suspect my parties would still suck.

This was a fun tourney, and I'm glad you gave it your best, mordana. You're clearly a very skilled played as evidenced by your great performance in Perfectly Happy. I'm definitely doing a 2.0 version of this event. I think one of the things that might have scared off some players from jumping in this one was just the sheer amount of work involved in maxing all vanilla skills and doing all the vanilla challenges. So, one idea I have for the next one is to call it something like the MAX Skills Family-Size Marathon. The implication being that the whole family can get involved in knocking everything out, so it won't be so tedious. Hey, I really like that name. I'm going to have to add it to the list.

I think I will continue playing Lottie and max out all her skills - not part of the challenge, just for my own amusement for the next week. I shall just take her on vacation for as many times as is needed to win that Martial Arts Tournament and have enough sparring matches. I think one of the problems with playing this challenge so soon after the 'Perfectly Happy Challenge', was I focused too much on LTHP, which wasn't part of the brief. So instead of stopping writing when Lottie got to Level 10 I just had to write that one last book as I'd promised her another best selling novel. I think it's important to think out strategies and stick to them (something I've only just realised  :-[ ) I shall certainly give any future challenge alot of thought before starting. Thank you for saying I'm a skilled player, but I guess I was just lucky that LTHP's were an integral part of my first challenge. If this had been the first, I may well have ended last, believe me. Anyhow, I look forward to the 'MAX Skills Family-Size Marathon' - like Pam, playing families is my forte, and I usually have households of no less than 6, and usually 8. Thanks for such a quick reply Metropolis Man.

Mordana,

Have you looked at the Baby Boomer Challenge?  If you like playing families, it's a lot of fun.  It wouldn't count toward the current ranking system, but if you're looking for something to amuse yourself with, I highly recommend it.

If you do a WA content one then why don't you say that you can only practice each skill abroad?

So for Martial Arts must be done in China
Nectar Making must be done in France
Snake Charming in Egypt and Photography in either of the three?

Just an idea! It could be intresting?

Since Mordana changed her mind on this one and no one else has been active in it for a couple weeks, I'll plant this thread in the Graveyard.
