I am hoping I made the deadline - I asked on the 17th but I wasnt sure if I made the deadline or not, since I am not listed on page one.

Sorry about that. My bad. You're in.

Any chance I can start this challenge? I only just finished OS installs on my shiny refurbished laptop about 10 minutes ago. I know the deadlines are supposed to be firm, I was limping along on a 10 year-old dell laptop that won't play The Sims 3, before this.

If not I may play along anyway and just let the results be unofficial.

(Off to install 12 million sims, sims 2 and sims 3 packs *LOL)

There's not a deadline for declaring your intention to participate.  The start date is the earliest date you can begin the challenge.  The ending date is the date you have to be finished and submit your score.

This challenge looks so fun.  I made my four yesterday and was just going to sort of play along and I had major computer issues last night and lost lots of my Sim families on a system restore.  I was so bummed because as weird as they were trait wise I sort of liked them in an odd kind of way.  It was all things I had never played with.  I clicked on the wrong Lifetime for the insane and Inappropriate one and ended  up with Perfect Body, Perfect Mind which just cracked me up.  I have never spent much time traveling so I think that might be the hard part for me.  I am not convinced my computer issues are over so I hate to join in but I sure will be watching this challenge.  I bet these will make some interesting game play.

I have thought about it for a while and would like to join this challenge. I do not know if i have time to finish it (i will be away from my sims for three weeks in june), but it sounds like playing this could be fun even if I do not finish ;) .

Please add me to the list.  It'll be nice to be able to use Ambitions now.

Add me to the leaderboard please.
We could learn a lot from crayons:
Some are sharp, some are pretty,
Some are dull, some have weird names,
And all are different colors....but
They all exist very nicely in the same box.

Here's my sims:
Victor - Neurotic, Good, Savvy Sculptor, Frugal, Green Thumb
Eddie - Light Sleeper, Grumpy, Kleptomaniac, Snob, Artistic
Brando - Insane, Neurotic, Natural Cook, Photographers Eye, Good
Wendy - Neurotic, Great Kisser, Disciplined, Commitment Issues, Grumpy

3 of them are Neurotic, and 2 are Grumpy - what a fun filled household :o

Two of the boys are apparently twins too! Bit annoyed about that as I keep confusing them with each other ;)

I got a grumpy one too but she's also eco friendly so a quick shower and a bicycle ride balances her out ok. In the spirit of randomness, I'm also pressing the 'random' button on every item I add to the house.

I have two neurotic sims and a grumpy one.  The neurotic trait has definite bonuses, and I'm enjoying it.  Can't see any upsides to grumpy, though.  I also have a hot-headed sim but she hasn't gotten upset about anything I've noticed.

Started the challenge, and even bought World Adventures so I could play along.  I have the wierdest bugs now.  In one game My Sim had completed his LTW, had several LTR's, and after traveling his LTW was blank, and some or LTR effects had disappeared.  I started that Sim after installing WA.  I had Sims3 and Ambitions on before that and hopefully installing in sequence was not necessary.

Anyway; have the 4 sims and the first time I have a grumpy Sim, very challenging to keep them happy.  Learning WA at the same time has been interesting.

Howdy all.  This challenge looked so interesting I finally joined the forums just so I could try it out.  I've created my Quartet, here they are:

Alfred Gherkins - Superstar Athelete
Atheletic, Can't Stand Art, Dramatic, Mooch, Never Nude
Barbara Tommyknocker - Rock Star
Daredevil, Dislikes Children, Mean Spirited, No Sense of Humor, Vegetarian
Charles Feywind - Jack of All Trades
Computer Whiz, Insane, Loves the Outdoors, Neurotic, Over Emotional
Debra Mothman - Private Museum
Excitable, Great Kisser, Hot Headed, Inappropriate, Lucky

I'm happy with the randomness so far, these are nothing like what I would pick normally but I already visualize the different personalities.  I am surprised about the choices that showed up for the LTWs on them, but then I've always picked traits aiming for specific ones in the past.

My sims' LTW always goes blank for a week or so after they complete it, then re-appears in a dark colour; I just assumed that was supposed to happen.  What LTR effects disappeared?

The LTR's didn't disappear, they were still listed.  But I had No Bills Ever, so imagine my surprise when the repo man showed up...

Before, the LTW would change to a slightly darker tone and looked like it then had a rivet in each corner; almost like the metal changed and it became 'affixed' permanently, it never disappeared though..

I've had the LTW disappear many times after they're completed.  They then reappear with the silver background later on.  I dunno about the LTRs disappearing, though.  That sounds abnormal.  Sometimes weird things happen when you travel.  Once I had all my items and wishes disappear, when I only had WA and the base game installed, so I always save before travelling.  In my opinion if you saved right before leaving and a bug happens right after you arrive you should be able to restore from the save, but anybody please correct me if I'm wrong on this.

I am sorry to say, that I may not be able to finish this challenge or any other challenge that you have to take a vacation on.  I had my sim take a vacation, the prompt came up that it would be over in 24 hours, ok, prompt came up that it would be over in an hour, two hours, three hours, etc.  I could not use the phone to return home, only thing I could do was go back to main menu and this was my wishmasters challenge, luckily, I had just started and decided to take them on vacation, so did not lose any time, but if it happens again, will have to withdraw.  I am having the worst luck with these challenges.  I am not a happy camper this evening. :'(

Getting this back on topic, here are my 4 sims:

Asia Challenger: Renaissance Sim
Absent Minded
Clumsy
Childish
Mean Spirited
Born Saleswoman

Baron Challenger: Master of the Arts
Absent-Minded
No sense of humor
Bookworm
Artistic
Lucky

Carrie Challenger: 5 Star Chef
Brave
Technophobe
Natural Cook
Dislikes Children
Mean Spirited

Darren: Hit Movie Composer
Over-Emotional
Unflirty
Virtuoso
Hopeless Romantic
Friendly

I don't understand what's going on with Darren. How am I supposed to romance people without flirting? Ahh well, I guess I'll find out. :)

I already started playing them and it's been a dismal failure. I didn't realize how poorly I played (if fulfilling wants is 'good' play). I didn't realize that getting people jobs would interfere so much in the daily wish-fulfilling. Still the challenge isn't about me earning a big score, it's about getting more out of the game than I usually get. In that sense, I'm learning quite a bit.

I suspect my real play is more like what other people would consider "not good enough for practice play" :).

Okay, have randomized my 4 Sims and rolled the dice for their lifetime wishes, and think I may have gotten off quite lightly (and hopefully two of them with "ambitious" will be helpful!)

Abraham Houston: Living in the Lap of Luxury
Slob, Couch Potato, Inappropriate, Heavy Sleeper, Easily Impressed

Luke Montgomery: Swimming in Cash
Loves the Outdoors, Dramatic, Evil, Childish, Ambitious

Irwin McWilliams-Franklin: Become an Astronaut
Neurotic, No Sense of Humor, Over-Emotional, Daredevil, Handy

Natalie Darling: CEO of a Mega-Corporation
Flirty, Good, Perceptive, Heavy Sleeper, Ambitious
