Yeah, when the invisible bug happened it's a really good thing it happened to Marcus and not to Alex!  ;D

Would you mind posting his traits (and those of your other sims)?  I'm curious to know what traits contributed to such a high score.  And if it was all down to your skilled playing, you will have to share your secrets when this Challenge ends.

Sure. :)

His traits were Neurotic, Brave, Disciplined, Good, Perceptive.  I think the neurotic trait helped somewhat, lots of small wishes that over time add up.  Beyond that, I'll have to wait to reveal my secrets. :)

I noticed a lot of people had trouble with the foreign sim visiting and ice sculpture wishes.  I also had trouble with the foreign sim visiting.  It may be a bug for everyone right now, I'm not sure.  Did anyone not have trouble with this wish?  The wish did seem to go away after the sim left, but I'm not sure if my sims got credit for it.  As for the ice sculptures, I noticed that these are usually to make sculptures of foreign sims who are visiting town for the day.  The wish goes away after the sim leaves town, which happens earlier than you might think.  If it's finished after they leave, you won't get credit.  This might be the problem some people experienced.

I had a lot of problems with the foreign sim visiting which was unfortunately because I had a lot of foreign friends.

I also had a neurotic sim that was always wanting to fulfill lots of small wishes. I encountered a problem several times during this challenge where my sims stopped coming up with wishes after I had fulfilled them. So for almost 2 weeks during the challenge my sims wishes were completely blank and had no wishes for me to fulfill. Any idea why this happened??

This falls under strategy and needs to wait until the challenge is over to be discussed.

NeoFelis, I hope you're feeling better soon. I remember one of my girls got a sinus thing one time that took a turn for the worse and we eventually needed to get some antibiotics in her. Anyway, to answer your question, yeah, just jot down the number of vacations days taken on a sheet of paper every time your Sim(s) go somewhere.
Thanks, Metro. I'm not significantly worse. I feel about the same, actually, so will have to go back. I have such trouble shaking these sinus things, I may ask about Prednisone. Knock on wood that I don't get ear and throat problems when my sinuses act up! I'm just sick and tired of being sick and tired. And I've been on too many antibiotics.

On topic, I've been getting mini-sessions in with my Randoms, though it meant I've had to almost entirely skip keeping up on the forum. I see something about a Da Vinci challenge coming up; that one sounds great too, so I really, really want to finish (it's a bit much to hope I'll make the top ranks) and get the most out it. I'm on Week 3, Day 1, by the way.

I found the item of clothing (short-sleeved tee over long-sleeved shirt with a shaggy-haired vampire face covering most of the front of the shirt) that was bugging me. It was CC. I knew, because both YA females and males could wear it. I also found the naked thing and got rid of that as well. That one only got used on females. No more bare-bottomed (and fronted) little girls, teens, or adults. They were two of the worst CC items I had besides the baby girl doll thing.

I see some people are having problems with WA; I'm sorry to hear that, since for all I know that will be a big factor in scores. Then again, maybe not. Never having done this before, my assumptions could be all wrong.  :) I got rather bored with WA. If I want to play an RPG or one of it's relations, that's what I'll do. So it was good for a bit, but I couldn't help remember 'Bon Voyage' for Sims 2 and think of it more fondly.

Okay, okay, I know I'm off-topic all over the place. I'm sorry, Pam. :-[

Just one more thing:  Why does it go against the 'Crazy' trait to jump on a trampoline? Laundry, I understand, but this puzzles me.

Added later: I post this and play a little while, and suddenly she has a wish to jump on the trampoline. Being crazy and speaking Simlish means never having to explain yourself.  :D

So, before I register you are you sure you want to do this with 0 vacation days? You're really handicapping yourself by doing so. But I just want to make sure.

Well if I don't have the Travel EP then at least none of their wishes will be going on holiday, right? Don't you think normal basegame wishes would add up to much?

And when you start off, can I use the motherlode to build a house or not? Not sure I have many empty (cheap) houses left!

You'll be missing out on 100 travel days. That's a huge amount of time to accomplish whatever wishes your vacationing Sims have. Again, your choice. But, seriously think about that before deciding to participate.

OK, tell you what, I'll have a go (don't put me on the leaderboard) just for fun and let you know how it turns out!

And, I will be buying the EPs in the very near future!

One of the points of using the travel days is to extend the time you have to fulfill wishes. 100 regulars and 100 travels = 200 total days. If you only use 100 days then your score will probably be at least half as high. I do admire your bravery and willingness to fight though! Good luck  :)

Total days all sims is 4 sims x 100 days = 400 + Travel 4 sims x 25 days = 100
Conclusion 20% less points without World adventures.

Good point. Ah well, 20%, 50%, it's all the same right?? Haha. This might explain why I'm definitely not as good as some of the other players. I'll learn eventually... maybe.  :P

klop- You're actually quite mistaken, it's 100 regular days, and 100 travel days.  Grand total of 200 days.  I think the part you're getting confused about is that you can use the travel days amongst your sims however you like.  You can do 25 vacation days per sim, or you can do 100 travel days on 1 sim, or any other kind of combo you like.  But the total still needs to add up to 100.

I too have had problems stemming from vacations, only when I come back and it seems to be limited to the next npc who comes to the house.  I always get two.  Sometimes this is not a problem but rather just an annoyance - when the maid comes I have to pay both maids that show up.  However if it is the paperboy or the mailman (or a fire fighter in one case) I have to delete the second one to get them to go away.  Since my sims are getting alot of quests that involve traveling I have been taking only one at a time so I have had several trips (10 so far equaling 31 days total.) I just bite the bullet on the maid and pay the extra fee but I am assuming that my deletion of the extra npcs is ok as they never go away (paper boy stayed for 3 days before I finally deleted him)  I am only about halfway done with this challenge.  It has taken alot of thought and organization but mainly time to get this far.

Anyway I am just tossing it out as I had not seen anyone else report this particular bug and I have not seen it before in my other neighborhoods but I don't often travel either.  (oh and I do have the latest patches)

That's a really bizarre bug, Nyteglori. I haven't heard of multiple NPCs yet. Yeah, delete away. No problems on that one.

klop90 is correct on the percentage.  The confusion is that we're really using different units for the regular days and the travel days.  For the regular days we're just using days, since you have all 4 sims there.  That's really 400 sim-days (100 days x 4 sims).  For the travel days we're given 100 sim-days, which can broken up in all sorts of ways (100 days x 1 sim, or 25 days x 4 sims, or all sorts of other combinations)

This challenge is such a marathon! I'm at week 7 and have used 55 vacation days - I can't believe I'm only about halfway there! Time for a break before powering through this middle section. Congrats to those that have finished so early! :)
