This closes in 9 days and you're leaving for London on Sunday for a week? By my calculations, it would be quite impossible for you to even come close to finishing the amount of work in this challenge. I'll go ahead and add you to the leaderboard, but I have a pretty strong feeling I'll just be removing you on the 30th. Nonetheless, good luck.

Yeah I think you're right. It's just that I got so excited by it and I thought I'd have enough time. I think you should remove me from the leaderboard  :'(

I'll probably play it on my own and just compare scores.

Well, you're welcome to still try and get as much done as you want. Then, just post your results before I close this event. I finished the vast majority of this event in a week's time, but it was a huge time investment.

Good luck. And welcome to the forums, soulofsilence.

Thanks for the welcome, Metropolis Man.

This challenge is taking longer than I would have thought. I've played for about 8 hours and I'm only on week 4. It feels like it should have been more like week 6 or so. But I'm really loving it because usually I ignore what my sims want and now I'm having to pay attention to their somewhere outrageous desires :P

Hehe, I don't think you people who are signing up at the last minute know what you're getting yourself into.  :D
Good luck to all, though!

Metro, could you take me off the board please? I've really enjoyed what I've done so far but I'm not even half way so I'm definitely not gonna finish by sunday!

Are you sure? You've done a lot of work if you're almost halfway, plus you've got 6 more days left. You could at least post the happiness points you achieved before the event closes. It's up to you.

Metro I am about halfway through week 7 and trying to get finished but if I don't I can still post my score and it count? Hopefully I get done but I don't know seems like I only get a week or less done each time I play and I play for hours of course I do stop and go a lot because of the kids.

Hey, I understand how time consuming kids can be. Yeah, just post before the event closes and your score will definitely count.

I am almost to week 12, yay for me, but sims will not make it to week 15 anyway, but will post what I have when they expire.  I defenitely need to pay more attention on my life spans, I just messed it up for myself though, so shame on me.  :)

If this is in the rules, then send me for a time-out and tell me to go read them again, but I have questions. This challenge ends on August 29th. Does that mean I can play on the 29th or up until the 29th, but not on it? I'm assuming the answer to this will tell me when I have to get my scores in, even with what will certainly be an unfinished challenge on my part. The other question is time and time zone related. Do we have until 11:59 PM the day it ends to post our scores and what time zone are we using? I'd have to check, but I think I'm 5 or 6 hours off Greenwich Mean Time, as in minus that many hours. What time do I have to post by to be counted?

If I give you a headache, I'm truly sorry. I know I can be such a pest with this stuff.

The challenge ends on the 29th, so that means you have all of that day to play — and it's your time, not any other standard. As long as you post your results before it's the 30th wherever you live, then you're fine. So, what I'll do is what I've always done — officially close an event with a post when I wake up the next day. I'm usually up at 5:30 AM and I'm in the Central Standard Time Zone of the US. I'll wake up on the 30th and close the event.

I am slowly coming to the end of this challenge (I do not have much computer time right now since i had eye surgery two weeks ago), but my savegame is showing more and more signs of corruption :( . I had my first unrecoverably corrupt savegame in week 10 (error 12 and the backup was already overwritten by the game ::) ), which cost me about a sim day and a half (but those were good days :'( ), then a game that would no longer save at all early in week 11 (it would not even let me quit any more), now the second error 12 late in week 11 (fortunately i tried to save to a different game this time so the backup is not corrupt). I really do not know if I will make it to the end this way, this is getting so frustrating :( .

Kudos to you ik for continuing with this challenge even with all the other challenges you have had to face in your personal life (eye surgery) and in the game itself.  If I had had near the problems with it that you have had, I would have turned it in and went on with my life as I can't handle that much stress just to play a game that we all love.  My hat is off to you and your perseverance!!!

I agree with wildredchild.  Kudos to you, ik!  Also remember, Metro has said that it's ok to post whatever your score is even if you don't get to finish the challenge.  That will at least get you on the leaderboard.  :)

Good job, ik. You're a trooper. Considering you won the first two events of the Tournament I'm quite sure you'll be posting an impressive score despite your game issues. Good luck in wrapping it up.

Thank you for clarifying things for me. I was hoping that when I registered and had to select a time zone that it would work that way, but I had to be sure.

Oh, by the way, I'm sure even four more days to play will produce results causing one to think the object of the challenge was to get the lowest score possible in the most Sim time possible.   ::)

Finally done and didn't do very well, but I did finish.

Dorothy Horseman     256,706
Veronica Horseman    222,716
Derrick Flipper           217,651
Cindy Flipper             236,239

Total                       933,312

Now that I look at some peoples score, I probably don't have very good imagination, oh well, I had fun, but way too long, lol.

Addy (Seasoned Traveler): 604,251
Cam (World Class Gallery):  523,487
Jackie (Jack of all Trades):  414,842
Neil (Become an Astronaut):  442,652

Total:  1,985,232 (so close to 2 million, yet so far away...)

I knew a challenge based on purely LTH points would show up, and I was dreading it, but it wasn't as bad as I thought probably because of the randomness.

My last thoughts on the challenge: Jackie had the worst traits ever!! (insane, unlucky, hot-headed, grumpy, and workaholic - it should be in the code that you can't roll something that bad)
