Tattoos
« on: June 17, 2010, 11:22:21 PM »
Both of my Sims have gotten tattoos now.  DeAndre (the Rock Star) was all cool and stuff, but Pepper (his wife) cringed, whimpered, and looked away.  Funny!  I also learned that if you don't have a professional tattoo artist do the tattoo, you won't get to pick it out and it will turn out as random tattoos in various places.  It also doesn't count as fulfilling a tattoo wish.  Now Pepper has to go back during business hours and have the ugly tattoos removed and get a proper one.  There was a guy at the salon when she came in and it let him give her a tattoo.  He's one of the Racket family.  Haha!!

I would call that Police brutality pam. LOL
When someone makes a mess of a tat, does it effect the way that the victim feels about the sim who blundered the tat?

How do you tell which are professional tattoo artists, and which aren't? I have had 2 of my sims go get tattoos, the first time by clicking on the chair, then by clicking on a person, and both times I got to choose what I wanted.

Does anyone know if more tattoos are unlocked as you do more? Because I wasn't that impressed with the selection. And the artwork you can get showing some tattoos look really cool - but I can't find them to put on my sims...

I think if you go to the tattoo shop during regular hours, there will be a professional on duty.  Pepper went after the shop was closed and just some random townie did her tattoo.  I'll check on how she feels about him and report back.  Also don't know yet about unlocking more tattoos.  I hope so, because I wasn't impressed with them either.  Although DeAndre got a pretty cool fish on a blue flame tattooed on his stomach.  :D

Well I don't know about the English version, but in the Swedish one, the pro is marked in his/her name (when you hold the cursor over the person) as "NAME, Tatuerare" (tatuerare=tattoo artist). Aren't they marked in a similar way for you guys too?

They are marked like that here too, but if you click on the chair "get a tattoo" anyone can give you one, like Pam said.

Where do you see them get it done? I've had a sim want a tattoo and she went to the day spa  in Twinbrook to get it, but that's just a rabbit hole and you can't see anything happen.

You have to go to the Salon, where you get makeovers and they have a tattoo artist.  Just click on the tatoo artist and go the chair and you will get a tattoo.

Has anyone used the digital tattoo chair yet?  That is great, it is pricey, but your age is not affected at least and you get to pick your tattoos, plus you can just buy it and put it in your house.  I am not sure I would want one, but someone might.

I'm still curious what the deal is with tattooing as a "skill"?   One of my Sims gave a tattoo to her daughter, and it turned out fine, but when her daughter tried to give her one, it just did the random "mess" thing.   Neither of them is a Stylist, and they have basically the same Painting skill.  Is there some other skill that affects tattooing?

I had another Sim who was a high-level Stylist and her attempt at giving a tattoo also resulted in the random "mess".

Just re-confirmed this yesterday:  Had my Sim get a tattoo at the spa, and it did not change age.
