I try to avoid walmart at all costs, besides, they don't get games when they say they do, but Target does, that is where I usually go and it is there right on time, early in the morning and it is close.  This stuff pack looks pretty neat, new cars anyway.

We are Walmart shoppers!  :o But I do prefer Target. The problem is our Target doesn't have food and the husband refuses to go to more than one place. Our Target puts some of the things out like the day before it is supposed to be sold and sells it early. I believe they can get into trouble but they still do it. One time we went they had racks of CDs that weren't supposed to be out till the next day or two and the shelf was almost empty already. LOL So maybe they will do the same thing with the Sims game. One can only hope right?

OMG ... Metro-Area Stress!!!

There are loads of Target and WalMart outlets around DC, and they are never crowded.
But on-line downloads, or UPS mail, is comfortable.
I have a local store where I'll pick mine up - I'm sure they will have enough stock, and you guys can experience the first problems before I hand over my money!!  ;D

In the UK online is always cheaper! Game stores always sell them at full price. And supermarkets such as Asda (UK walmart, seriously, it is owned/franchise/whatever the term is by walmart, just called asda here), does not always stock everything in and generally not always cheaper than amazon.

I hadn't seen this Fast lane video so I'm not sure if the link has been posted before.

Oh boy...
I've built this awesome house in an extremely small lot in SV and even though I always needed more space, I never moved because I'm too lazy to build something up again ::)... Where is my car collection gonna be placed? Can we put cars in the basement? :o

Anyhow I'm looking forward to this one!

If there is a parking space and room you can put cars in the basement.  I've done it.  Now Firetrucks on the other hand.... they're too tall and wont fit in the basement.  :)

Yesterday while editing the game's files, I discovered that EA is planning to include a new trait with Fast Lane:

Below is the text I found:
Quote
"Vehicle Enthusiast"
"Vehicle enthusiasts enjoy the craftsmanship of a fine ride and know the value of a dependable vehicle. Their relationship with their vehicles is a special one."
"Sims build relationships with vehicles more quickly."
"• Your Sim will build relationships with vehicles more quickly."
"• Your Sim can automatically name vehicles."

I posted this at [link deleted — Metro], but I thought I'd post here as well. ;)

@simsmx: Welcome to the forum!

Your sim can actually build a relationship with a vehicle and name them? Hahaha, that sounds like some strange man do in real life. How can you build a relationship with a vehicle? And what does that mean? If the love is mutual we can expect some baby cyborgs?

... :o Leto, that was...A disturbing image...

It sounds more like people who do care about their car. I mean, a lot of people talk to their car after a while, from 'Whew, we made it over the hill', to 'Don't you break down on me'. It could be similar to that sort of a thing. Also people sometimes grow fond of their cars due to the memories they hold. They could be where your first kiss was, your first accident, your first breakup...All that good stuff.

It would be funny if sims are talking to their cars now and especially when that makes the social bar goes up to! 'Good night, my sweet iron friend. See you tomorrow.' :P

What would be neat though is if the car talked back, like K.I.T.T. from the old tv show Knight Rider.  Social moodlets can be gained for Car enthusiasts from having conversations with their car.  Sabotage neighbors cars by chatting with and turning them against their owners.  Kleptomanics should love the new function of 'persuading' the car to leave with them.  "But Officer I didn't steal it... it followed me home!"

LOL! ;D

That was good, laughing as we speak.  I get an image of that one and it cracks me up. ( I loved Knight Rider, too bad they took it off the air)

Not fair, us Aussies have to wait a whole 2 extra days for Fast Lane. I was out shopping for Father's Day and thought I'd pop into both game shops at the local Westfield and both said Sept 9th  >:(

Just some info for Aussies about Fast Lane.
Release date is Thursday the 9th.
EB Games price will be $30
Big W price will be $25 but they won't have it till about the 21st
JB HiFi online have it listed for Sept 9th and $19. I'm hoping the in store price is the same.

I'm going to head to my nearest JB on Thursday but I might check the K Mart next door to it first to see if they have a price and have it in stock.
Not sure what the price at Game will be, they are sometimes a bit cheaper then EB Games. Their release date is the 9th too.

Well the "relationship" part is definitely a "go," there's info I noticed today about Game Update 1.15/2.10/3.6/4.3, as is naming cars.

"Sims that drive extensively can now develop a relationship with their vehicles.  Vehicles can be named once a friendship is formed."

It's strange, I had Car Stuff pre-ordered on Amazon, but it doesn't look like I'll get it until Friday. Oh wells. :D

Wonder if you need to put the update in first, then Fast Lane.  I think it just installs it anyway when you install the game, so I guess it does not matter.

I'm not planning on updating until after I install Fast Lane, Diane (unless the Launcher gets all mean on me or I accidentally trip and purchase something from The Store.) :)

Yeah, I can almost guarantee you that today's patch is already on Fast Lane. I'm off to Best Buy to see if it's in yet. I want my Dynasty family members to cruise around SV in some Manly new wheels!
