I wonder if we should standardize on either Normal or Long life span?  The reason being that neighborhood kids might age into the dateable range in one case, but not the other.

Interesting observation, and one I had not thought of. Yeah, I'll make it that players have to set the game length to Long for a few reasons: 1) Increased difficulty with less Sims becoming available, and 2) most Tournament challenges already have Long as the defacto standard, so there's more consistency, 3) a more level playing field if we're all doing the same game length. So, take note, everyone. I'm making a rule amendment on game length setting. Thanks for the suggestion, Kaori.

I was hoping you weren't going to notice that ;)

Ha ha. Yeah, where I mentioned keeping the playing field level in my above post, I was debating adding (with Nancy) as a qualifier.  :D

And here I thought that was part of the strategy...

I'll give this one a try too. I have had a few sims that seemed to gravitate toward the playboy lifestyle

Count me in, this one seems short enough.  Got to get away from those 4 in wishmasters a bit, sheesh.

This sounds interesting. For the record, you do not have to break up with Romantic Interests if you want multiple ones.
I've played Sims 3 long enough to know that you can have a ton of Romantic Interests - the only restrictions is that you
cannot have more than one boyfriend/girlfriend, fiance(e) or spouse, so you if you go to the next level, you will be with
them for life unless you break up with them and love them as romantic interests.

When does this challenge close? I might try it after I finish beta-testing the rules for my current Sims 3 challenge. :D

When does this challenge close?

Check the ruleset towards the bottom. Let me know if you want to be added to the leaderboard. And welcome to the forums.

I'm going to try this one too for a break with my Wishmaster group. Question though, are we limited to the default sims in each town or can we eliminate them all and start with fresh faces?

Eliminating them would entail going into Edit Town and that's strictly prohibited. Gotcha on the leaderboard. Good luck.

I really want to do this one!  But I'm so involved with my Wishmaster's right now and I'm not sure how much time I'll have to give.  So don't put me on the letter board yet.  The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. lol

Question about sims with multiple names - there seem to be several in vacation locales.  Do we use the last last name, or does the last name start right after the first name....not sure that's clear, so here's an example from practice game:
Noelle Saint James
Wang Bo Oy Ping

Which order should I use:
1) James, Noelle Saint
2) Ping, Wang Bo Oy

or

1) Bo Oy Ping, Wang
2) Saint James, Noelle

Saint James is the full surname.  But I also find the Chinese names confusing.

As Schipperke stated, Saint James is the full last name. For consistency all of us should probably treat foreign surnames as beginning immediately after the first name. I have no idea if this is correct or not, but again, for consistency in this challenge, just treat them as you would Noelle Saint James. So, with that name you'd alphabetize her under the S's.

Wang Bo Oy Ping you would alphabetize under the b's since Bo is the first word after his first name.

I thought it would probably be the last word (Ping) rather than the first word after their first name (Bo). This is just what made sense in my logic based brain. How about checking to see what the game considers the last name by going to map view and checking their home lot (if you can find it) or looking for relatives. Though you may not be able to find any.

Is that the final thought on the matter, or is it still being decided? Though I'm not sure I plan on falling in love with many foreigners due to the long distance problem...

Like I said, I have no idea what's correct technically when a foreigner has multiple names. But, my solution is a simple one and the one I'd like everyone to implement so that there's consistency.

Okay, decided then! I can't wait to get started on this challenge, but I've forced myself to uphold my promise to finish the Wishmaster's challenge first. If I'm not done with it by Monday I'll punish myself.  :D

Sara Challenge finished with 30 romantic interests. I didn't have time to use all my travel time though, because of some unfortunate money/time problems. But in the end I got it done in one night.
