Not sure if this belongs in WA or Ambitions as I have never had this happen until last night when I sent my young couple on a honeymoon to Egypt. This is the first time I have tried to direct anyone to charm a snake since I installed Ambitions and the new patch.

The new husband - new to my family - had a wish to charm a snake. He went to the market and used the snake charming basket there. He practiced most of the day, then he and his new wife ate and headed back to the base camp. The next evening when they were back at the market, I right clicked on the basket thinking I would have him practice some more. I was given the options for him to 'charm for tips', 'charm', or 'charm snake into clothing' and a list of those sims present in the area. The 'charm snake into clothing' thru me for a loop because I have never seen that option before.

Has this even happened to anyone else? I am including a picture - sorry it is a bit dark. (click on the picture and it will enlarge).

I think it's like the "Serenade" option with the guitar.

That's hilarious! I've never seen that option before, but maybe I've never had my sims use the snake charming basket in the market. What happens when you click for it to happen?

The option will come up for any snake charming basket, not just the one at the market. You just have to have enough snake charming skill for it to appear.

It's hilarious! I had my Sim do it once while visiting someone's home in Egypt. The snake goes into the clothes and the Sim totally freaks out running around and screaming. After a while, it stops. So, I did it again and she did the same thing, running and jumping and wiggling. I think it might also give some negative relationship points.

Thanks for letting me know what happens. I am glad I didn't try it on his wife. I'll have to have him buy a basket and do that on his enemies. Sounds like alot of fun!

Haha. Do you have an easy savefile to load to get a shot of that happening??

I had heard about it too, but it does not show up at on mine and I have a girl that is probably the highest on snake charming. I have tried it everywhere too. Oh well, it might show up one day.

I first read about this option on the official forum. Someone had posted a video and it cracked me up.

When I went into the game that has my most talented snake charmer, the option didn't come up but when I went to Twinbrook, my newest sim, Josh took his basket to the park and the option came up. He attacked a stranger with his snake,

and of course they have "dislike" now.

He is a fairly new snake charmer so I don't think the length of time charming causes the option to appear.

I'm wondering if it's an option only with the new sims in Twinbrook. Has anyone been able to do this in Sunset or Riverview?

Yes. Charming a snake in someone's clothing has nothing to do with Ambitions. I've been able to do it before Ambitions was even announced.

Maybe that option has something to do with the traits of the sim who does the charming. They might have to have a certain trait, or maybe if they have the nice trait, they might not be able to do it. Just a thought.

I have had snake charmers in the past and have never had that option until the latest patch and the installation of Ambitions. I am going to try it tonight with my sim that has the King Cobra in his basket and a high level of snake charming. He is in a previous game prior to the patch and Ambitions.

Maybe so, but my Sim in the pictures above wasn't Mean Spirited.

How often do those sims 'play' the Snake Basket? Maybe it is a hidden skill like pool and dancing was in sims 2?

If left to their own devices, they'll charm the snake every time they have a free moment. But, yes, I believe it's a hidden skill. As they continue charming, they get bit less and can upgrade to a cobra. I imagine the ability to charm a snake into clothing is at the high end of the skill.

My sim still can't do that. She has the cobra and is probably as high in the skill as you can get. I have tried everywhere to do it and it will not come up. When she plays, sounds like there is two or three instruments playing and it sounds really cool. Doesn't really matter, it just sounds funny to have them do that.

My sim that started this discussion, Jacob Kruthers, had only been charming for a few sim hours when this option first appeared. My other sims that have been charming for awhile, even one who has the cobra, do not have this option. This option never appeared for me until the new patch and Ambitions even though I have played WA since its release.

I have received this option so far only with this sim both in Twinbrook and in Egypt. He hasn't traveled anywhere else yet. He is Brave, Friendly, Athletic, Loves the Outdoors and a Computer Whiz. He is now an Adult who has been charming his snake for a few sim weeks and I still receive this option, but only for him. I tried it with two different new young adults and one different new adult and nada.

My problem now is that I have not been able to actually use this option - I choose the person to have the snake charmed into and nothing happens.

Bummer.

I would say it has to do with mean-spirited because I created a new sim, did the buydebug got the basket, clicked it for the very first time and that option came up and it had the little mean face with it. You know, when something has to do with a trait, like artistic has a paintbrush. Of course since I just started, I don't know anyone yet. I went to the park and did it to VJ and I got a video, but it won't post

I also got an awesome close-up video of him kissing the cobra but it won't post either

Oh well, I tried!
