Amazing job Anushka and great job doing it without cheating.

For some of the lazier amongst us, the only way to cheat I know of still involves PILES of work, but in buydebug you can place gem spawners on your home lot making it a bit easier to gather the gems.  But even then, I can only imagine the amount of work involved.

Thank you Malteser, CSquared and Euler :)
Yeah, the boardbreaker seems easier than cheating with spawners. I also don't think that WA spawners work in home town. But still, the slowest possible way to get this is wondering around and looking for gems on ground.
I'm glad you all like it, and I'm looking forward to possible new gems (and cuts) with Pets!

That is really amazing Anushka! I can't fathom how long it must have taken to gather all those gems and get them cut like that!

don't know weather this is considered as collection :P but since the photography skill came back, I though I'd give it a try, and now I wanted to use it to decorate my houses, and then ended up looking for a bit modern art to decorate modern houses with, but landscaping scenes didn't sound right , so I created a room, and using the flat wall, I'm recoloring it each time and take a photograph, they came up not so bad, so though of sharing

Actually, it's not.  Collections for this thread are things that your Sim can collect, like gems and metals.  No worries this time, though.

Yes, me :D Why? I'm missing the chinchila and few birds to have it complete! So far they are all in my cat's inventory since they never escape from her.

Huh, I didn't know that.  Did your cat accomplish something special to keep them in her inventory, or is that true of all cats, do you know?  It beats having a snake escape in your house because you forgot your sim had it in her inventory (not that that happened to me *innocent whistling*).   :P  Good luck finding those last few!

You have to be careful when keeping small animals in your cat's inventory. If the cat gets hungry, it may eat them. Gives the cat a "Good Meal" moodlet, or something along that line.

CSquared - I played only this cat but I didn't do anything special with her. No animal ever escaped - I didn't even know they can escape until my Sim picked up a turtle that escaped same day. I'm guessing it's same with all the cats (dogs can keep them too, just drag it and drop on a dog).

Lasnien, thanks for that info! My cat didn't eat any animal so far, but I'm shore to be more cautious with her in future :)

I'm wondering what would be the best way to present all of them on a lot - I guess best way to share them would be with my dear cat who got almost all of them!

Kiko, I can't see the picture. I'm not sure whether it's me, or the forum.

Kiko, I like both of your pictures! One with photos of different patterns, it is really beautiful, and that treasure room! Wow, it really does look like a treasure room, even the ceiling match! Great job!

This is my gem collection - nothing on Anushka's but I have all of the gem types (except Tiberium and the ones that can only have the Polished Split Cut) in all cuts (except Polished Split Cut, Spire Cut and Skull Cut). Basically I just didn't use transformation at all, just a lot of board breaking :) I'm pretty pleased with the way my little basement looks!

Thank you! :) It is worth a lot, not sure exactly how much since I actually took these screenshots a while ago and I've since stopped playing with the family. Can't bear to delete them though...

Wow! Love the collections!!! So glad to have found this forum and others who enjoy collecting as much as I do. I have no pics at the moment as my Legacy is only just into it's third generation.  But I fully intend on collecting everything one can possibly collect. I, so far, have a painting collection started and all the potions from the Chem lab to use at some future point.

I've also started a spreadsheet to keep track of all their collections. :) I'm not OCD... not at all...

Amazing EnglishRose!   I love the use of the shelves!  I was always using the display cases and they took up so much room, but the gems look awesome on the shelves.  Must start my own collection... I usually get distracted and end up starting a new family and never finish a collection! ha!

Still would like to the the small animal collections... maybe new fish, fireflies...

:D

@EnglishRose, that looks awesome! Real Wowza Collection! And it is so neat, the best showcase for gems I've seen so far! Wonderful job on it!
@Karanina, glad to see some fellow collectors here too, I've made painting collection and am slowly progressing on the rest of it (collecting everything collectable LOL).
@cndneh, here is the link for small animal collection, they are all in personal inventory as I spent a lot of time trying to create best possible lot for placing all the cages and stuff, and gave up eventually, so I shared it in the most simple way. Hope you'll find it usefull ;)

I remember people making collections of painting their Sims had done.  Has anyone got a collection of sketches from the drafting table?  I think they are by far my favorite pictures, especially the fashion concept sketches.  If no one has done one I think I might.  I love them!
