I was lucky with my sims, all three lived pretty long (95, 98 and 102 days). They managed to get a total of 44 skill challenges and maxed all 15 skills ;D . I did not expect to get that many challenges, but was lucky with my last surviving sim who got two more challenges done that i did not think possible. Total score: 18,000 points

My goodness! Someone's hungry to get back her throne!  :D Well done, ik.

Thanks ;D But it was really more thanks to luck than anything else. The first sim started at 74 days and lived a whole three weeks, the other two well into week four, and you can finish lots of extra skill challenges (and of course gain lots of extra skill points) with a few more game days. But it was fun, especially since this was the first time i actually tested in advance and had something like a strategy for my game.

So while everyone is counting how far they are from the top position I'm casually counting from the bottom and cheering for every position away from last.  Would that be considered glass half empty or glass half full?

Depends on how thirsty you are, I guess, tiff_jewels!  :)

I'm just gob-smacked amazed at some of the scores, and playing a challenge definitely changed how I view the play experience.

I'm one away from last and I'd consider it half full! I love sims and this was my first challenge and I think I did great! Hehe even though I'm almost last, I'm not last so I'm happy  ;D!

I'd like to give this one a try.  Please sign me up.

Ditto on the counting from the bottom thing.  I'm just glad if I can finish without totally embarrassing myself.  :)  Having fun and playing towards different goals is enough.  Otherwise, I often end up doing the same stuff over and over.  Boring!

There still room for one more? I don't usually play elders a lot but this sounds interesting. Must go and plan.

There's always room for more players. I always rent out the biggest rooms possible.  :D Welcome to the forum and good luck!

Wow if all the people that signed up enter their results this challenge will have 45 contestants. Isn't that the highest so far or something?

Indeed it would be. The Random Wishmasters Quartet holds the current record at 41.

Thank you for the welcome. Sorry to be a bother so soon after arriving, but I have a bit of a problem, I've managed to break one of the rules by accident due to an obscure game feature I'd completely forgotten about, I don't think it's given me an advantage, quite possibly the reverse, and I would explain further but it'd definitely come under the heading of strategy, so ummm... can I PM you about it?

Well let me report my abysmal failure.

I lost two sims on the first day due to a sim that set themselves on fire. I decided to go ahead and complete the challenge with my one remaining sim.

Margaret 6 skill points no mastery no completed challenges
Edward 5 skill points no mastery no completed challenges
Rick went on to master 4 skills and had 13 skill points in other skills Challenges completed including collecting and consignments 8

4 maxed (400)
24 skill points (120)
8 skill challenges (3)

Total score 1560.

Okay my game crashed and it seems like my last save was getting on for a Sim day previous to the crash (I'm sure I saved it more recently than that, but apparently not) so unless anyone has any objections I'm going to call it with the score I'd reached by the time the game crashed because I'd feel like I was cheating if I did that much time over.

Emerald Verge: died age 93 days
Skills maxed 6, challenges completed 7.

Roseate Glow: age at crash 98 days
Skills maxed 4, challenges completed 11.

Cerulean Sky: age at crash 94 days
Skills maxed 5, challenges completed 14.

Total:
Skills maxed 15, challenges completed 32.

Score (someone please check arithmetic):

(15 x 100) x (1 + (32 x 0.25)) = 13500

Wow, those are some impressive scores. After a break from the Sims, I feel like jumping back on the wagon and try to finish this challenge.

Here's the score!  I'd never played a family of elders before, and I got rather attached to them, I must say.

Stanley Schade, lived to 92 years old
Victoria Schade, lived to 93 years old
Lavinia Schade, lived to 103 years old

14 maxed skills = 1400
6 additional skill points = 30
26 skill challenges = 6.50
Grim's multiplier = 1.00 + 6.50 = 7.50
1430 x 7.50 = 10,725
