Carpenter family legacy challenge

Carpenter Legacy Challenge

Here it is, my very own legacy challenge.
Let me introduce you to the founder:

Name: John Carpenter
Traits: Artistic, Family Oriented, Handy, Charismatic, Hopeless Romantic
Lifetime Wish: Master of the Arts

Start:
John needs a place to live.
Unfortunately for his wallet, he likes living on large terrain so he
buys the lot near the Landgraab family for 14.700,- simoleons.
With little cash on hand, John buys a bed for sleeping and goes out to
the park.

He spends his first day here and eats some picnic food and uses the
restroom.

On the second day, being the artist that he is, John spends his last
money on an easel and starts painting.
After this not so productive day, John made $9,- and had a blast.
The third day arrives and John begins to smell awfully.
Lucky for him, all his neighbors have a shower/bathtub, unlucky for
them, John intends to use one of them.
He drops by the Hart family and gets invited in. Immediately he runs
for the shower, halfway trough he is disrupted by the owner and is
asked to leave.

Soon after, John earns enough money with his paintings to buy a shower.
This raises his mood significantly.
He gets a request from the diner/bistro to deliver $450,- worth of
paintings, he delivers and gets a nice cash reward.
With the earned mony he buys a fridge a toilet and a sink.
Now he doesn't need to leave the lot anymore for his basic needs.

After a few more paintings enough money is earned for... a wall!
Actually an entire room has been built and the stuff is moved inside.
John has met a woman who he has a romantic interest in so he buys a 2
person bed. (Unfortunately he was sleeping outside in the old bed at the time.)
Because of this he doesn't have enough money for a floor and wallpaper,
so he doesn't like it inside. The easel stays outside till this is helped.

He meets up with <name> (had her name written down on a piece of now
lost paper.. will edit later.) with whom he becomes friends very fast due to his charismatic nature.
A few days of meeting like this and selling a few more paintings, they
decide to get married.

After spending the wedding night together, John learns he is becoming a father.
The marriage also brought in a few bucks which were spent enlarging the
house. Unfortunately, the family again has nothing to eat.
In between talking/listening to the mom to be's tummy, more paintings are
being sold to save up for a crib.

After a while John begins to wave with his arms indicating a uncoming birth.
They rush to the hospital and a beautifull baby girl is born.
They call her Ginny and she seems to like her dad's art.

Taking care of her leaves a gap in the paint time and bed rest, but she
is worth it.

To be continued... (first birthday party on its way.)

Something really bad happend...
My PC crashed last week and so my save file is lost.  :'(

This made me start over, so here we go:

Name: John Carpenter
Traits: Artistic, Family Oriented, Handy, Charismatic, Hopeless Romantic
Lifetime Wish: Master of the Arts

Re-created the original John Carpenter.

Again John buys the lot near the Landgraab estate.
After buying a bed and an easel he goes straight to his first painting.
After a while he is forced to go to the park so he can eat and use the toilet.

In the park he meets up with Molly and befriends her on that same day.

The next morning John finishes a few more small paintings and now has enough money to
buy a shower. I figured this is more needed than a toilet, because these are all over town.

This goes on a few days until John has earned enough cash to build his first home.
It isn't much, but it beats sleeping outside.
The House comes equipped with a Fridge, a stove, a toilet and a 2 person bed.

In the morning John invites Molly over and they get married that same day.
When returning from a few painting deliveries, John finds a nauseous Molly at home.
John is gonna be a dad!

This is where I left them last friday.
I can't seem to access Photobucket from work so I'll post some screens when I get home.

Also, I now have a brand new flash drive for the sole purpose of being a back-up for my saves.  ;D

Yikes!  Sorry to hear about losing your save file.  Also, did you know that you can shower at the gym?  You can also eat there for free in the little kitchen.  :D

hmm... didn't know about the gym.
Luckily a shower isn't very expensive.

Can't wait to get home though, John's first offspring will be born anytime.
Haven't decided on a name yet, I think I'll go for Ginny again if it's a girl again.

Maybe Brandon for a boy

John sure has jump-started the family quickly. It'll be rough being poor with a family (specifically the baby) so early on.

Yeah, the first part of the first generation is rough.  Then they want to buy everything possible for the baby...  high chair, toy box, doll house, etc.  I couldn't let them have all that stuff because it's just too much money.  It's fun to play that stage, though, because of it's sheer simplicity.  It's an uncomplicated and satisfying life for your Sim.  I go back to the start of a family when I just get tired of the virtual goggles and foosball all the time.  :)

I realize now that I've forgotten to make a Photo-bucket account yet again...
I will post screens when I get home again, this time I set my alarm  ;D

Molly is getting bigger and bigger, The baby will come anytime now.
John is just painting, always painting.

Molly is a real flirt and disturbs John on a regular basis.
Eventually after an intimate hug, the arms go high up and they rush to the hospital.
A long time of waiting later John and Molly walk out of the hospital with their brand new
son, Brandon.

Keeping Brandon happy is an easy job, Molly still has her maternity leave and John is an artist.
Plenty of time at home to take care of him.

When Brandon is about to have his first birthday, John and Molly both get a wish to have a baby.
That same night they make sure they'll be getting one.

A few days later Brandon gets his party and a baby brother named David.
Brandon learns how to walk pretty soon and begins to get the whole 'potty' thing.

For Molly and John, peace is over for a while, when John is learning Brandon how to talk and to use
the potty, Molly is taking care of David.

After a few days they both get a wish to have a daughter, currently they're thinking it over.  ;)

I'm not sure if they can handle another child, both in time and financially.
Maybe when Brandon and David both age up to child...

The house is really really small at the moment, but I've been saving some cash to upgrade it.
I'm thinking of making a new house completely, but to do that the current house needs to be adjusted and moved.

Probably a good idea to make extra bedrooms (you'll know what I mean after I post the screens :P)

@Pam: Thank you, wait till you meet David ;)

John and Molly decided they needed a bigger home.
After all, they are now a family of 4, Brandon and David both need a room soon.
The new building is being built next to the original, which will be demolished when that's done.

The new house

The new building is 'finished' just in time for David's first birthday.
Now John and Molly have 2 totlers to take care off.

Davids BD

Sleeping David

After a few days, Brandon has his second birthday, which is celebrated privately as well (due to financial problems).

Brandons Second Birthday

Brandons new bedroom

As you can see, not much happened. I hope I will be more productive next time :D

The important part is your Sims have finally provided a decent house for their kids. Now everyone can be a bit happier and start accumulating some luxuries. Good work digging yourself out of that hole. This was a very ambitious start.

Yeah I was a little bit too optimistic on that part.
Turns out to be a good thing though as Molly is about to become an elder.

Don't you just love the toddler stage?  Ohhhh...  they are just so cute at that age.  I try to get the mothers to take the toddlers with them when they go visiting friends or when they go to the park.  I love the toddlers!!!

Like your story...must have been hard to start over after losing your first game.  Admire your determination to continue with your family legacy.  ;D  Nice pic's too.
I agree the toddlers are cute, but I wish they interacted with more objects.

I wish toddlers would interact with each other.  When there's more than one, they just ignore each other.  Would be fun to watch them play together!

Oh yeah, I forgot they used to "huggle" each other...that was cute. :D  I guess I was missing how the tots would dance to the music on the radio and of course some of the toys that were added in the latter EP's for the TS2 series.  Hopefully we will be getting more things for those tots to do!  ;D

Yes, that and being able to wash the babies/tottlers.
I noticed that Brandon and David completely ignored each other and whats more,
John and Molly didn't pay equal attention to both kids.

Once David was born I had to really push them to take care of Brandon.
After a while this changed though.

Also, thanks for the positive replies.
This motivates me even more  ;D

I finally found time to play the family a bit.  8)

Brandon started school with a bang.
The first day he came home with the wish to receive an A in school.
This wish was granted the very next day.
Later he meets some friends whom he brings home and introduces to his father.
(John is a much respected man in the neighborhood.)

Molly celebrated her last birthday and is now an elder.
Still having to work, Molly cooks like she's still a young adult.
Eventually John receives a message stating an accident involving Molly and a stove.
Molly was burned badly and decides there and then enough is enough.
She quits her Job and is now retired.

John buys David some learning toys and David is very happy with them.
He plays with it every chance he gets and is becoming smarter and more creative every day.

John works on fulfilling his lifetime wish to become Master of the Arts.
He almost mastered the painting skill and doesn't wish to be disturbed by anyone not in his family.
(John puts his family first and hopes to teach Brandon and David to do the same.)

The house is already getting a little small, the current family can live there without any problem,
(just build an extra wall for David when he ages up, kinda makes me want a bunk bed.)
but as soon as either Brandon or David get a girlfriend and/or married we have a problem.
To stay ahead of this John begins to save some money to build a bigger home.
He has big plans which he will pass down to Brandon and David, the house will be build floor by floor.
Each floor will have everything a full 2 child family needs (except the kitchen, that room will be expanded later).

I'll post some screens the next time, didn't have enough time for both.

It is exciting and sad at the same to see the life cycles of the first carpenters wind down. The new generation is going to have it a lot easier than the parents did. They'll probably start generating real wealth now and finally be able to afford most anything, except maybe the F-series Jet statue, that is.

I wonder how many kids David will end up having

Thank you Igzigpuff and yeah John married an older lady  ;)
She was becoming an elder by the time John became a full adult.

John starts building a bigger house for him and his family.
After laying the foundation and bringing up the walls, the family is again out of money.
Luckily John has mastered the painting skill and is now a master painter.
Cash starts flowing quickly as John paints to pay for the new home.
In only a week he manages to save up for an extra floor, all he need now are the inner walls and he can let Molly decorate it.
To prevent my sims from going in the new house to check things out, there is no door yet.

Molly is content as a retired elder and uses her free time to help Brandon and David do their homework.
When the kids are at school she usually prepares some meals for when they come home and after that she goes dancing.
She receives 150 simoleons a day for being retired, which is still enough to cover the bills.

David had another birthday party and is now a teen, just like his brother.
They both do well in college and they work together on their homework.
David is becoming very handy and already upgraded the sink in the kitchen and bathroom as well as the shower and toilet.
Being the good man he is, David decides to donate a big sum of money to charity. John and Molly didn't mind. ;)

Both Brandon and David meet lots of people in school and occasionly bring them home.
Brandon went home with a girl he met when he was still a child twice already, but David enjoys being at home.

I'll update when I get home with some screens of the new house and also pictures of David and Brandon.
Can't believe how much they look alike.

I like your policy of building the new house for them and waiting for its construction.. it seems realistic. I imagine handiness is vital in a legacy, so many people using one sink, shower and toilet it's bound to break really often. It's good you've got those. It sounds like you've already got it set up so that David and Brandon are going to have a great house to fight over.

Try the new add image to post feature. It may save you some time if it works properly.

I'll start of with posting some screens of the new house being built for the family:
Here is a nice (building) view of the new home, doesn't have a roof yet...

The lower floor, I think I'll use the small rooms later for when Brandon and/or David have children.

The upper floor, all there is to it now are 3 bedrooms. I think I'll make a balcony on the front so all three bedrooms have an option to go outside.

It's going really well with the family now.
Brandon and David excel at school and meet a lot of friends lately.
Both have been on the honor roll a few days in a row.
Brandon takes after his dad and has the same lifetime wish, so they're mostly doing synchronized painting on the weekends.
One time they both had a small painting which turned out to be the same picture, only Brandon was a little behind.
It was like John was teaching him  :D, forgot to press "C" though :'(

David is getting handier every day and has repaired quite a few things at city hall already.
Brandon will finish school this same week as he will become a Young Adult in 2 days, David will age next week.
Molly has a wish to see David graduate, but seeing she's 91.  I don't think she'll make it  :'(

John is doing great with his painting and the family has quite a few masterpieces hanging on the walls.
As soon as Brandon ages up, John will make a portrait of him and when Brandon has the skills for it, he'll make one of John.
I intend to make a portrait of every heir and hang them on a wall somewhere.

I like the new Image uploader. This one even works from work :P (unlike photobucket).
Here's one from Brandon and David both as teens. Look how much they look alike  :D.
The one in the front is Brandon, in the back is David.

I made this one a thumbnail so you can see a bigger picture when you click it, hope that's ok.

Hi Kreathyr!

The house looks nice.  Be sure to post more shots of it as it takes shape.

And on the image size for posts in the forum, all images need to be resized so that they are 640 x 480 rather than having thumbnails.  It'll look better on the site that way.  So, would you mind resizing that last picture?  If you have trouble with it, I can probably do it for you.

That's a cool idea with the portrait hall for all the heirs. I'll be sure to do that with my legacy. Get us  shot of the property with both houses so I can see a size comparison side by side.

As pam said, it's probably better to just stick with 640x480 cuz some people will have slow net and it's one more step for them. Not only that it's just easier on the eyes to scroll down the pages (for in the future). No worries about the current pic.

But like I said I'd like to see a zoomed out pic of both properties :D

Sure I'll post an overview of the lot when I get home, or at least make a screen shot so I can post it tomorrow.
I've checked the picture of Brandon and David in 640 x 480, but the faces were to small to see clearly.
The reason the pic is posted is to show Brandon and David might as well be twins, witch couldn't be seen in 640 x 480.

I'll try to zoom more for the next time, this pic was taken very fast, they weren't dancing very long :(

I make screen shots every time something changes in the house, but I'll only post finished rooms from now on.
Because John doesn't make an awful lot of money I can't buy an entire room at once.
Should get better once Brandon matures.

Edit: It looks like the hair color is different for the brothers, but that's the lighting.

Carl,

You actually get points for portraits of the generations in the Legacy Family Challenge.  It's one of the facets of the challenge.  They have to be at least a Young Adult for the portrait to count in the final talley of points.

Exactly, I think it would be nice to have them in a special room.
I could hang them next to each other in the bloodline order.

Since I have chosen Artistic as a family trait, I think this won't be a problem.

John and Brandon both get along great, talking about art and making art all day long on Saturday.
Sunday was Brandon's birthday for which David invited all of Brandon's friends, as well as his own, and a few old friends of Molly's.

Sunday morning is spent preparing for the party, Brandon just finished John's portrait.
As the guests arrive, Brandon mingles and meets a nice girl from David's class.
As you might come to expect from me, her name eludes me. I'll check this when I get home.

They spent a good deal of the afternoon talking until they hear some noises from the front yard.
When they go check it out, they see that Mollies friend just passed away. Again with the names, last name is McIrish.
The Reaper takes her away and after awhile he returns.

This time, to John, Brandon and David's horror, he comes for Molly.
Just when they got over the shock of losing a family friend, Molly, a loving wife and mother, passes away.

As this is the first death in my legacy challenge I'd like to end with a moment of silence.

I highly recommend playing a Legacy family.  True, it's difficult and long, but you'll get to play so many different Sims with all the various traits.  And it's very satisfying to have a 10th generation family living in an $900,000 mansion that started out as a bench on an empty lot.  Once you get used to not cheating, it's really not bad.  They just have to get everything the old fashioned way.  They earn it.  :)

Hi guys (and ladies of course)
I'd like to thank everybody for keeping track of my legacy challenge. It really helps me motivation wise.

I agree with Pam here, earning everything legitimately gives great satisfaction (maybe Mick Jagger can try it? pun intended)
In the previous games I've cheated a lot, buy that's now permanently over.

I'd like to start with posting some pics, but it appears they've blocked the upload page now at work.
Now I get a page telling me to contact the helpdesk. (surprise, that's me...)

In the week following Molly's death John, Brandon and David mourn a lot.
Brandon gets a lot of comforting from Monika (Monika Loony, remembered her name)  8)) and John and David talk a lot.

Brandon invited Monika to come over and they spent the whole day talking about art and music.
At the end of the day Brandon gets a kiss from her. I didn't initiate this one because Monika hasn't aged to YA yet, but apparently this is possible.
She stays over and sleeps next to Brandon in his new 2 person bed.

John paints and paints and paints.
The 'old' house is full of paintings made by John and some made by Brandon.
A lot of them are masterpieces which I plan on taking over to the new house once it is finished.
Next to the front door on the left is a portrait of John made by Brandon and on the right side is a portrait of Brandon made by John.

The next weekend, both David and John have a birthday, which makes David YA and John an elder.
Too bad about the ambrosia being banned from the challenge. Just realized I'm going to lose John as well.

The next morning (Monday) David goes to the police station to apply for a job in Law Enforcement.
Once home he upgrades the stove to self cleaning and prepares for work.
He went to bed early so he wakes up at 2:30. Walking out of his room, he finds his mom playing the computer!
At first he is afraid, of course, but after a while he starts talking to her and at the first light Molly disappears again.
After playing the computer himself, he eats some leftovers and takes a shower.
After this he buys a chess board and practices chess, which puts him on logic 3 because he practiced as a toddler.

Because of this he almost gets promoted on his first day.
The second day is the real deal, as David comes home he made it to Desk Jockey and makes $47/hour.

Molly comes to visit 2 more times during this week and at some point she decided to sleep in bed with John. I have pics, I really do  ;D

I've made screens of the house in bird view, but decided to redo the new home to make it a little bit bigger.
The kitchen is now in place and the Carpenters are saving up for the bathrooms now.
After this, the living room gets filled and then the bedrooms.

You might want to start thinking about what you want to do with the gravestones.  If you leave them all on the lot, you'll eventually be overrun by ghosts.  If you don't want that for your story, you have some options.  You could put them in the town's cemetary, put them on another lot and make it your private family cemetary, or leave them on your lot with a fence around them so the ghosts can't get out from the fence to haunt the house.

You know when I first read this post I was sad by Molly's death. And then my sim's hubby aged up to elderly too....now death is right around the corner. It's gonna be weird not having that sim around anymore. I did get attached to my sim!! :'(

And I think I'm gonna go the private graveyard route...tho I'm not sure how to make that work ingame...

I played my legacy family in Sunset Valley and there's a public lot right across the street from the family home.  I went into Edit Town and put up a white iron fence with a gate around part of the public lot and added some trees, flowers, shrubs, etc.  Then whenever someone died, I would have a Sim pick up the gravestone and put it down inside the white iron fence.  I arranged all the gravestones by generation.  Before long, the public lot started showing up as an actual graveyard on the map view of the town.  I also renamed the lot to Dreamweaver Family Cemetary.  It worked great.  I didn't have any ghosts in the house, but they were just across the street.  Some would come out every night.

The game lets you create a new graveyard?!? That is very cool!
I'm really starting to love this version of the Sims.

looks nice Pam. (as far as that's possible for a graveyard.)
I think I'll do the same, I think my own lot would be rather full of tombstones.

Thanks.  I didn't want a dark and gloomy cemetary for my legacy family.  I made it more like a park with benches to sit on and lots of flowers and bushes.

Here are the promised pics of the new home as promised.
(better late than never)

Here's a picture of the old new home in birds view.

And here's the new version.
As you can see, this one is a lot bigger and Hopefully more capable of housing the family.

Brandon talking to Monika in front of John's soon to be masterpiece.
Aren't they a lovely couple?

if I forget something, please let me know, I'll have it up tomorrow.

You totally changed the design for the house  :o, nice.  It looks bigger.  Should be nice for your family.  Brandon and Monika do make a cute couple.  ;D

Oh and about cemeteries, I remember I read a legacy story and they actually made a mausoleum part of their cemetery and put the urns on an end table and then hung a portrait of the person on the wall behind the table.  It looked very impressive.  Just thought I'd throw that idea at you if you were still going to make your own cemetery.  ;D

That's a lovely design on the new house, Kreathyr.  What you're doing is exactly what I cannot do!  I can never envision something graceful and unique like that.  The best I can do is start with a big square and section off rooms!  Lol.  Good job.  I can't wait to see how the new house looks when it's furnished!

Thanks for the idea igzigpuff, maybe I'll do that for the founder and all the heirs.
Not for all of them, cause I already miss a painting of Molly.

Thanks for the compliments on the house.
Maybe you've noticed, but I started the exact same way with building the original house.
I just put a square in the front center of the lot.
The moment I thought of building a bigger house while playing, I've build the current house on the side of the lot to make room for the bigger house.

I can't wait for Monika to turn YA so I can invite her to move in with the carpenters.
(can't believe how long it takes for her to be the same age)

O, and another thing:
Brandon got a guitar opportunity to collect $50,- on tips from playing guitar from someone named Cari.
In the pop-up anouncing the opportunity only her first name was displayed.
After Brandon went to report his success a girl named Cari Carpenter opened the door.
The relationship display says Cari is Brandon's Half-Sister!

I guess Molly didn't tell John everything when they first met.

Ooooh!!  Drama!  I bet back when Molly married John and you got the screen that moves her in with him, that there was a baby or child in Molly's original household.  I've run into that several times and didn't realize what the deal was until I encountered the step-sibling later on.  The thing to look for is the name.  When Molly married John, her name became Carpenter and so did her daughter's, even though John isn't her father.  You can click on Brandon's family tree and look at Molly's family.  You might be able to find out who Cari's father is.

Also, on the thing with Monika being young...  you can have her over to your house and let her blow out the candles on a birthday cake to go ahead and age her up.  You can't do it early for your own family in the Legacy Family rules, but it's ok to do it with ones who aren't in your family...  yet.

Great idea Pam.
I'll try that when I get home.
Funny thing is that Brandon is self employed and Monika a teen.
Normally Teens have to go to school, however, when Brandon calls Monika over on "school days" she comes even at times when David used to be at school  ;D, I hope this doesn't affect her personality (traits)

Hmm...well first, I'm making my own family graveyard for sure!! That sounds like fun to me...

Second, I'm wondering about my founder's hubby now. When I moved him he had a lot of people in his household. I wonder if any are his kids!? I just assumed he was living with his sister or something... I'll have to check it out!

Regrettably Monika couldn't come over for some reason, so I didn't age her up yet.

John is still painting away masterpiece after masterpiece.
He earns a lot of money for the family.

Brandon is helping out with painting and playing the guitar for tips.

David has other ideas on making money.
He works in law enforcement and climbs the ladder quickly, he already got promoted twice and the third is on it's way.
On his way home from work one day he stops by the local diner and buys a partnership deed.

Brandon and David are getting closer each day and David is now friends with Monika.

Can't wait to move her in

Molly comes by a few more times and John decided to move her tombstone to a secluded area on the lot.
I decided to keep them here until I need the space.

Oh wow, that Molly!  :o  I guess a girl's entitled to a few secrets!  8)

Hmmm...Monika couldn't make it over.  >:(  That's not good.  I know when I wanted my Sim to move in this guy she was romantically interested in, it's like the game read my mind and every time I invited him over he would say "sure in a little while"......then I would get another message "something came up".  I invited him numerous times, but he would never show so I finally gave up and chose someone else for her. :-\

Yeah, I know what you mean...sometimes the stories just seem to go sooo sloow.  :(

I had a situation like that, too, igzig.  I thought the guy was just jacking her around by saying he'd come over and then he wouldn't.  I kept with it, though, and finally got them married.  Turns out, those were times when he really was busy with work and stuff.  He was crazy about her and they had a couple of traits in common.  It was just that he had a real job and went to work every day.

That might be what happened to Monika.
She might have aged up and got a job?

Anyway, I'll try again when I get home.
I have to take my Puppy to 'school' tonight, so again time is precious for me.

Sure there's always a valid excuse why that can't come over.. ::)  ;D  I think part of my reason I gave up on that guy was I found out he had commitment issues.  So whatever his reason for not coming over, I just decided he was too much work.  ;)

Kreathyr, good luck with Monika!

Thank you igzigpuff, he's doing great.
Unfortunately we had to practice in the rain and of course, I got sick...

Well all better now and I even played a little legacy  ;D

After aging up Monica she immediately became an elder  :o, from teen to elder seems like a bad deal to me.
Because elder women can't have babies she is no longer a valid option for the legacy challenge.  :(

Brandon almost perfects his painting skills and gets bored with it.
One fine Saturday morning, he went out to the park with his guitar to play for tips.
He notices a woman in the crowd and decides to go for it.

Her name turns out to be Julia and she is family oriented, just like Monika.
After talking for a while Brandon finds out she is flirty and a natural cook as well.

Brandon plays a little longer and heads home.

David uses the weekend to work on his logic skill and chats with his partner a little.
He spends the rest of the time cooking and talking to John.

ps, I have a black Labrador

Glad you are feeling better!  ;D
That is very odd about Monica aging into a elder, I didn't know that was possible...bad deal indeed!  :o  Well hopefully Brandon will have better luck with Julia.  :D

Lab's are a great dog, they are really smart and friendly.  Growing up we had a Lab/German Shepard mix, he was the best dog!  Very loyal and protective.

Regrettably I have to tell you the Carpenters are no more.  :'(
I'll be starting a new legacy soon, I must finish the challenge at least once.

So regrettably I have to start over, but this time I'll start in a slightly different way.

Well basically I didn't have much time to play for a while and decided to use the 'back-up' USB drive for other purposes.
Later I reinstalled my laptop with Win7 and just deleted everything, I was convinced I had another back-up of the carpenters...

In hindsight I should have known better, this isn't the first time I've done something like this  ::)
