Wimsey’s Blog
Hi everybody. I am so stunned after that talk with Dad yesterday, I don’t even know where to begin. I mean the talk where my Dad sat down and told me all about this Dynasty that our clan is part of. You won’t believe it. The Dynasty group is like this small group of families - but more are joining every day. Each person in each family has to do certain tasks to prove their commitment to the cause. If we do everything we are supposed to, when we become elders we are rewarded with the secret of immortality! I kid you not.
I had to promise not to divulge any details, but there are a whole bunch of things we have to do before we become elders. I asked my Dad, “Well, what if I don’t want to do all that stuff? What if I just stay single and don’t have any kids?” (One of the things is we have to marry and have a child) Dad just looked at me and said “Well, Wimsey, in that case our clan would be out of the Dynasty and we would all be terminated.”
Wow! No pressure, eh, Dad? Well, I wasn’t seriously planning to opt out of the Dynasty anyway. I just like to be clear on what my options are. Actually, when you think about it, it’s kind of neat, sort of like this is my destiny or something. When I told Dad that he smiled and said “That’s exactly what it is, Wimsey. Your friends may drift along from day to day, but if you choose to stay in the Dynasty, you will have to work hard and always focus on your goals. Do you think you’re up to it? It won’t be easy, but your mother and I are here to help you.”
So now I’m thinking about my goals and my life ahead in a new way. I feel special, like my life has real purpose. The only thing I’m not too sure about is Dad’s idea of helping me look for a husband. “Dad, this is Sims3, not Sims Medieval - no arranged marriages, ok?”
But nothing stops my Dad when he gets an idea in his head. He was fishing in Central Park this morning when Gunther Goth died. See these two guys in the picture with Dad? Mortimer Goth on the left and some unknown guy on the right. As soon as Grim left, Dad started chatting up these two guys and telling them about me! Really! Oh, Dad …
