The Jones Dynasty
« on: October 03, 2010, 10:08:12 AM »
Reading all the amazing dynasty stories has made me come out of my Sims comfort zone and attempt a dynasty of my own.  My Sims never fish and I have never attempted to cook ambrosia, so it should be interesting to say the least.
As a player I can get bored with the same family so this way I can change between my legacy and dynasty.

She sits alone, reading the book that the mysterious old man gave to her. Her eyes widening in disbelief as she learns the secret contained in the dusty tome. The secret to eternal life, immortality !

She ponders awhile, could she do this, could she watch her loved ones die while she and a select few lived forever. Undecided she left the library.
While she decided the fate of her family She went and got a job at the local diner.

She met someone and as she looked into his eyes she knew this was the man she wanted to be the father of her children. The man who would be the father to a long line of immortals.

And so it came to pass that Adya and Christopher were married and in time they became the proud parents to a bouncing baby boy who they named Archie.

editors note no apples were used in the production of Archie. I was very happy to get a boy though.

Time passes, Christopher paints and fishes.

Archie grows up into a friendly little boy who loves the outdoors. He inherits his fathers love of fishing too. He looks a lot like his father but has his mothers eyes.

Adya works hard and rises in the ranks of the cooking profession. But her happiest times are sitting with her little family. Doing normal everyday things like sharing a meal as she looks at the face of the man she loves. The man who will one day die.

Time moves on much too fast for Adya as she watches her son grow. Watches the bond between father and son grow stronger with each passing day. How fleeting life is for those destined to be mortal. How can she deny him the chance to spend eternity by her side. What cruel fate that in order to provide immortality for her descendents she must suffer such agonising loss.

Adya stares at the space on the wall where her sons teenage portrait will hang it is another reminder of how quickly time is passing.

The family gather to celebrate the birthday of Archie. Christopher wishes for his son to be happy. Adya wishes for time to stand still so she can enjoy these few precious moments awhile longer.

Archie grows up to be slightly eccentric but rather dashing and handsome.

Archie Jones Journal

For some reason my mum has been going on at me to start a journal. It all started when she was helping me with my homework

She went on and on at me about making sure I wrote any opportunities that I get down. She was saying something about black ops like shes in the military or something. My mum isn't in the army or anything like that she is a chef. She seems to spend all her time cooking.

We don't spend that much time together she seems to spend a lot of time on a forum, something called Carl and Pam's Sims 3 Forum.

I tried accessing her history but the site is password protected.

Then there is my dad we are really close, mum encourages us to spend our spare time together. She tells me that we will have plenty of time with each other in the future and that I should enjoy my time with dad now while I have the chance.

Another weird thing with my family is the freaky portrait collection. Every time mum or I have a birthday dad paints a portrait.

Yet we have none of him. I asked mum if she wanted me to paint dads portrait and she went off on one saying that wasn't my role in the dynasty. She keeps buying me fishing books. I mean I love to fish but its almost as if she is pushing me to fish all the time.

I am sure there is a secret in the family somewhere I just don't know what it is

I just remembered I have Indiana and Samantha Jones, explorer who got himself some wild and beautiful woman:)

Can't wait to see how Archie will react to immortality story. I took a picture of founder's wife, just to have some physical memory of her in the house. Great start and lovely writting. Will he lead through the entire story or next heir will continue his Journal? And good thing he isn't a computer whiz so he can't crack his mother's pasword ;D

Archie Jones Journal

Big news I met someone, we were having a birthday party for mum and I saw Her the most beautiful woman in entire simiverse. She has the most amazing smile and her hair is like the sunset. Her name is Gail and she is older then me, well not old like my mum old but older.

I haven't told the 'rents yet but I hope that who ever I marry I will be as happy as my parents are together.
I found myself watching them at the party and they are so in love its a bit gross but nice, if you get what I mean.

In other news I completed my lifetime wish, well technically dad completed his and claimed the credit too. Come on we don't need two private aquariums in the house.
Dad still goes fishing though. I am all for getting out and catching a few but a midnight in the graveyard I don't think so.

Its my birthday in two days time so watch out Gail Ursine I am coming to get you.

Archie Jones Journal

What can I say its official I am in love

I know most people won't approve Gail is almost an adult and I just had my young adult birthday, but the heart wants what it wants and my heart wants Gail.

It took me ages to persuade her that I was the one but eventually she came round and began to think of me as more then just a friend

So one night I took her to our special place and

I think you can tell from the look on her face what the answer was

We had a simple wedding on the beach with a few close friends and family

Well I had better get back to my beautiful wife. We have decided to try for a baby right away after all its not like mum and dad will be around forever I really want them to know their grandchildren.

As Adya watches her son marry the woman he loves, she knows it is time to tell him the truth...

Oooooh. I am so very intrigued. He's going to be a bit angry with mom and dad for keeping the secret so long. His wife's about to enter into haghood soon and then...well, there'll be no deathflower for her!

I'll keep watching.

Archie stared at the computer screen in shock! There it was, his mum's secret the quest to be immortal. He read all the posts about the immortal dynasty and learned about his place in it. He was going to be immortal but his wife wasn't. How could he do this to her she should be by his side for eternity. Right at this minute in time he could not imagine a moment without her let alone forever.

He had to get away from her.

Gail knew that something was wrong with her husband he had barely left her side since they were married. It wasn't like him to go out without telling her. She tried his phone but there was no answer

Gail confronted her mother in law who eventually told her all about the immortal dynasty and what it entailed.

Gail hugged her mother in law and told her she understood why she was doing this for her child. After all she was about to become a mother too.

Gail found her husband at there special place. The place he had proposed which held such wonderful memories

They needed no words to express what they both felt. Gail looked into his eyes and he knew that she wanted him to become immortal

For the sake of their unborn child

So it came to pass that late one night a baby girl was born who was destined to become immortal

Mr and Mrs Archie Jones  would like to present their  daughter Seraphina she is artistic like her mummy and friendly like her dad. She has a great future ahead of her.

Dear Mum

Sorry I haven't wrote in ages we have just been so busy since the wedding. Archie is just the best husband and father in the world. He loves spending time with little Pheeny

Archie and his mum had a big fight, no I can't tell you what it was about, but they made up.

My father in law Christopher loves his little grand daughter too. It is so nice seeing them spend time together.

Archie and I chose the colours for the nursery together, we hope that future generations of our family will sleep here. So we chose a neutral colour for a girl or a boy.

I never thought I could be this happy with my wonderful husband and little Pheeny I have the perfect family.

I have been working on my painting, I am self employed now, I hope to be able to paint a portrait of Archie one of these days. Archie works on his fishing and sculpting he isn't quite sure yet which of these field he wants to excel at yet.
I wasn't sure at first about living with Archie's parents but it is actually working out quite well. They are still very much in love its really nice to see,

(authors note they did this all on their own when I sent them separately to the grocery shop)
Well I have to go now life with a toddler is very busy. I enclose a recent picture of Pheeny

I know I am biased but isn't she cute with her daddy's green eyes.

Lots of love
Gail xxx

Article from Sims toddler monthly

How to give your Sim the best start in life

Breakfast is vitally important for a young Sim, try not to worry about table manners they will come in time

A good bedtime routine is essential, a kiss from mummy will reassure your little one that you are coming back

Potty training can be difficult try rewards and sticker charts

Ask grandparents to help out with teaching your toddler essential skills

Take time for yourself a happy mum means a happy baby

You don't need to be stuck in the house with a toddler get out and about

Try visiting the art gallery its never too early to introduce your toddler to some culture

Or perhaps visit the library, teaching your child to read is the best gift you can give them

Follow these rules and you will soon have a happy, healthy and highly skilled Sim toddler.

I am so irritated with myself, I forgot to do Seraphina's toddler portrait. I have no excuses there are two people in the house that can paint portraits.
I am going to start again with another family. The Jones family will live on I will most probably play them as a legacy family at some point.

It's okay, mistakes happen. If it makes you feel better, I've always forgotten to take my medicine from time to time, so it happens.

I'm so sorry your dynasty failed because an immortal grew up to a school kid before you could paint her portrait. I am sure Archie
is very happy that he will die of old age now.  :'(

To be honest, I had troubles when I was running my attempts at a dynasty, but it gave me an addiction to ice Sims. I have become addicted
to sculpting all my Sims in my Legacy Family in ice, which will be a problem several generations down the road...  :D ::)

Anyways, good luck next time!
