Well, well, well... great score, Alexandria! This is what I love about leaderboards is that they literally come alive with people moving up and down. Very exciting. But, I gotta get to making dinner, so I'll get you on the board in a little while.

I have a feeling there are going to be a lot of scores for this challenge posted today. For once I did better on this one than my practice, but it's pretty similar to a lot of the scores so far.

Town time ended on week 1, day 7 at 12:17 AM = 6(24)(60)+17=8657 minutes
Vacation time ended on day 5 at 4:28 PM = 4(24)(60)+16(60)+28=6748 minutes
Total = 8657+6748=15,405 minutes

I have now assumed the position at the bottom of the leaderboard, but I'm still really happy with my score. Here are my stats, Metro:

Town time ended on week 2, day 4 at 1:00 PM = 10(24)(60)+13(60) =15180 minutes
Vacation time ended on day 10 at 3:30 PM = 9(24)(60)+15(60)+30=13890 minutes
Total = 15180 + 13890 = 29070 minutes

Looking for to the next challenge and having fun with my Immoral Dynasty!

Crikey, that was a little more challenging that it sounded like it'd be lol. But here are my results (and admittedly, it's prudent to check my math):

Home: Week 2, Day 5 - 9:49 am = 11(24)(60)+9(60)+49 = 16069 Minutes
Vacation 1: Day 3 - 6:34 pm = 2(24)(60)+18(60)+34 = 3994 Minutes
Vacation 2: Day 6 - 11:10 am = 5(24)(60)+ 11(60)+10 = 7870 Minutes
Vacation 3: Day 5 1:44 pm = 4(24)(60)+13(60)+44 = 6584 Minutes

Total Vacation Time: 18448 Minutes
Total Time: 34517 Minutes (Yikes!)

(I would have probably been done a whole vacation earlier, but one particular opponent was giving me fits lol. At one point, I was 2 levels higher than she was, and I couldn't beat her.

Also, I always left early from vacation, because I've had issues with waiting until I was kicked out. If I was doing something when it was time to go, I would "miss the plane" and be stuck there with no way to get back. But now that I think about it...that might not have been such a bad thing.

Aided and abetted by Chester Spar, I managed to complete this challenge. (Though there was a scary moment during the Great Pancake Fire of Week Two, Chester managed to rise to the occasion, step away from the flames and not to become my second challenge corpse. Good old Chester, I don't even mind that he has taken quite a while to qualify and is currently lying in last position - he's alive and we finished.) I'll stop the blathering now and give the times:

Town Time:
Week 2, Day 7, 4.37pm = 13 (24)(60) + 16 (60) + 37 = 19,717

Holiday Time:
(Three holidays booked - 3 days, 6 days & 6 days - ending on Day 2 of 6, 6.41pm)
Day 11, 6.41 pm = 10 (24)(60) + 18 (60) + 41 = 15,521

Total Elapsed Time:
19,717 + 15,521 = 35,238 minutes

Thanks for the Challenge Metro, it's good to attempt things I've never tried before.

Vacation Time Vacay 1 3 full days (didn't note the time but wound up kicked out on day 3)

I know it sounds easy to you guys, but the math just confuses me. I'm no good at it and I'm not a great strategist either. It was a fun challenge though and thankfully over fast.

Just been checking and I think that Hosfac's maths is a little out on the home minutes - the total home minutes is 16,429 (I think) changing the overall total minutes to 34,877.

Joria's minutes are 18,716 for home and 11,021 for holidays, making a grand total of 29,737 minutes.

So that's two corrections for the leader board, everything else checks out as correct

After serious consideration, I decided to post my results.

Vacation time: 11 days, 2 hours, 12 minutes
11(24)(60) + 2(60) + 12 = 15,972

Town Time: 12 days, 22 hours, 12 minutes
12(24)(60) + 22(60) + 12 = 18,612

15,972 + 18,612 = 34,584

please someone tell me I'm wrong and added 10,000 minutes somewhere

My problem is you're not submitting your finish clock times. In other words, what did the clock say when you were done in your Town? What did it say at the end of each vacation? You say your Town Time is 12 days, 22 hours, 12 minutes. So, I'm assuming then that the clock said Day 13, 10:12 PM? I'm just making sure here.

sorry- in my test runs I lumped everything together

Town time: Week 2, Day 5, 10:12 pm
11 days (24)(60) + 22 hours (60) + 12 minutes = 17,172

Vacation 1: 3 days
Vacation 2: Day 6, 11:35 am
Vacation 3: Day 3, 2:37 pm

3 days (24)(60) = 4320 minutes
5 days (24)(60) + 11(60) + 35= 7895
2 days (24)(60) + 14(60) + 37 = 3757
4320 + 7895 + 3757 = 15,972 total vacation minutes
15,972 + 17,172 = 33,144

Sorry- first time I added an extra day to town time, making it 12 days. math's starting to get fuzzy, though

I made a spreadsheet for my own practice too, so I'm happy to plug in and double check the math as I'm reading the boards as well. I can see how it'd be a real chore to sort through alone, Metro.

bored1's score of 33,144 looks good with the dates and times posted.

Most challenges are not a big deal, math-wise, but since there's the whole conversion of game clock to minutes, it can be a pain. I'm going to have to have a stern talk with whoever came up with the scoring for this one!
