Could very well be random as this was the only Sim I experienced the bug with (so far).  And then again, maybe deep down, he doesn't want to go on any adventures  ;D!   He is a bit of a coward even though he is a Vampire.

My Sim had this in China, she had visa 3, and was left to explore Dragon cave, and since then now adventures, same as everyone. But, she had no problems later in France and Egypt. Only thing missing now are Dragon Cave Tomb Symbol, and Landgraab Basement Tomb Symbol.

Just a few thoughts, which may help [or not  ;D]

1.  The Board usually resets after midnight, so things are usually better the next day.  But not always.  I have a feeling [no more than that] it is worse if your Sim is on a long trip.

2.  The Board in France is definitely the worst, regardless of which Sim from whichever family I send.  However, it also happens in China [had to abandon a trip yesterday] and in Egypt.

3.  Does it help to visit a different country before returning to where you had a problem?  I have no idea ... just a thought, although I can't see any logical reason for that.

4.  We don't play Vampires at all, so it's nothing to do with them.  And our troubles started before we installed NL anyway.

Good luck to those who are suffering.

Thanks Silinsby!

I tried to delete the adventures board to buy a new one (by cheating, obviously) but I couldn't find a new one in build mode so that doesn't work. I also tried to bulldoze the base camp to put a new one but it says that I need to cheat to make the base camp available for editing so no idea. Not that I'm sure it would work anyway, but it did with my consignment shop so I thought I should give it a try.

Oh and I also think it gets worse  during long trips. The longer my sims have spent in France, the worse the adventures board will behave. And apparently now it's giving me only one adventure option per day (all of them minor or already completed); if I cancel that adventure no other pops out during the rest of the trip, until I get tired of it and send my sims home.

This is a common, sporadic problem, and most everyone has it.  It will work fine some trips, then hardly at all other trips.  Also, if you travel with more than one sim, if one can't get adventures, it's possible that one of the others can.  For me, China is the worst of the lot.  France messes up from time to time, but I have never had a problem in Egypt (yet).

Sometimes going home and coming back later fixes it, sometimes it doesn't.

I have the same problem, my sim was a level 2 visa for France when she began her 11 day trip. She was 43% to level 3 and when her trip ended she was at 83%!!! it was so frustrating. I didn't notice the problem in china, but I only went there to buy a training dummy and a board breaker since her lifetime wish is bottomless nectar cellar and I wanted to zenoport to the island. I sure hope they fix this soon because it is really messing up my game :(

So it sounds like I may as well send my dynasty family home from France because no matter what I do or how often I visit and click on the adventure board, there are no adventures available for my visa level 2 founder or several other members of the family EXCEPT the spouse who is mortal.  Even he only gets the minor adventures.
What?  Grannies can't play games?

I don't really see that happening, to be honest.  The excavation glitch has been around since the first WA patch.  And with there being 2 (soon to be 3) expansions that have come out since the release of WA, I can't really imagine that this expansion would be high priority for them anymore.  I'd like to be proven wrong on this, but I don't dare to hope.

Maybe, someday, EA will release a patch for ALL expansion packs, and this will fix the problems?  :D Looks like I am having the same problems as the others too. But mine is in Egypt, instead of France. When my Sim clicked the adventure board in the base camp, she got only low-visa level adventures, aka the adventures that tell you to collect bugs or metals, gems. Then I clicked again and again, she got all the same. Finally, the pop-up notified me that there were no adventures on the board. Luckily, it was 11:30 PM, so the new day and updated board would come pretty soon. It fixed itself! How? When I clicked on the board at 12:01 PM, I got the 'In Search of Love' adventure, which is rather rare. Then everything went just okay. I think this is just because the daily adventures on the board are random. Some players get common ones, others don't get at all, some get rare ones. Somehow, my Sim managed to reach visa level 3 in Egypt WITHOUT doing the Tomb of Discovery adventure, and never getting it. Lol, it's supposed to be the first thing you do there  ;D

France was bugged for me too. I was trying to acomplish the LTW where they have to explore six tombs in each location. Here is how I bypassed the bug.

Find the main entrance to the tomb.
Hover your mouse over the place where you put the key into and it will tell you the name of the key that is required.
Open the cheat box and type in "testingcheatsenabled true" and "buydebug on."
You either need to hold the shift key or both the shift and ctrl key and select buy on this lot. Find the cresent shaped key under the ? section and place it on the lot.
Then again hold shift or both the shift and ctrl key and click on the key and choose "name."
Look through the menu until you find the name that matches the tomb and click on it. Drag the key into your inventory and voila!  You can now carry on with tomb exploring.

I later took my Sim to finish up in Egypt and she was able to achieve her LTW.  Hope that helps.  If needed  I can take screen shots later.

I just realized this doesnt help the Visa points issue. Sometimes it helped if I renamed the save file, exited the game, made my Sim go home, used the cheat "resetsim *" and just kept clicking on the board. I was able to max her Visa finally.

I would certainly like to think so, however optimism isn't exactly my strong suit lol.

This MAY be of some comfort to those suffering from "French Adventure Board Syndrome"

The Story So Far ... Harry Hotspur is a full-time adventurer, and he's done all the Tombs except two [in France, of course].  We had given up hope of him ever getting the last 2 Adventures in the Nectary Cellar.  However, we sent him again today ... on an 11 day trip.

The Board was rubbish, as usual.  Either nothing during a 24-hour period, or just one small 'filler' like "Deliver a bottle of wine to ...".  So we kept Harry busy clearing up everything he could find in every Tomb he's done before, and excavating everywhere he could.  The days went by.  Boring, but very profitable [I think he made §200,000].  But we were very patient on this occasion, and checked the Board every day after it reset.  Then, on the 9th day of 11, BINGO!!  The adventure that leads to Isael's Tomb in The Nectary [after the side trip to Egypt with 6 beetles, to get The Ruby of Sikhara]  ;D

Harry will finally get his last two French Tomb collection items.

.........

Now see what Frey said back on 28 January ...

I have a feeling that the game might just be programmed to 'save the good stuff until last', so that you have a bit of time pressure to get things completed before your Sim runs out of travel time.  And perhaps we just get bored, and send our Sims home?

Look at it another way ... with a finite number of adventures, how is EA going to program them to fill the time when Sims go on LONG trips?  Perhaps they fill the Board adventures list from the end of the trip?

Only my opinion, of course.  But some folks might like to try testing with short trips, and see what happens.  ;)

Even when the adventure board acts all wonky, I will still get the biggies from time to time.  One thing that has recently occurred to me as a possibility is that if adventures are given randomly, the more big ones you complete, the less often you will get big ones...simply because there are more small ones to choose from.  When you add that to the boards just not working from time to time, it will seem like an epically long time to finish up the tombs.

I have not actually tested this, however.  It's just a theory that seems reasonable enough.
