So, I've been lurking for a while, having found the forum through the main guide.

I'm generally not very good with forums, but I pop up every now and then.

I'm Torri, I'm from England but living in Connecticut. Just graduated from the University of Connecticut, and will be attending law school in the fall. Am to be having ankle surgery next week, which is going to force me to stay off my feet for most of the summer, which sucks as it's WNBA season and arenas + crutches do not mix, as I found out at my commencement! So, I figured I am going to be very reliant on my laptop for entertainment! The challenges really appealed to me, as I have ADD, and while I love playing the Sims 3, I get bored quickly and like to have inspiration on what to do in-game.

So, yeah. Hi!

Welcome Tori, I am with ya on the healing part, have two more weeks to go and I am already bored.  If it had not been for the sims and this forum, I would have gone really bonkers.

I can say the exact same thing Pam! Only I'm excited for the fact that I'm getting a trip to Oregon for my birthday! I'm quite excited. :) I heard it's such a beautiful state, my family and I can't wait.

We arrived here the day after Mt. Stl Helen's blew up.  I'd been strictly an east coast girl all my life and really did not want to come here, but you go where the hubby goes and he goes where the job is.  After I'd been here two weeks I told my dh, (darling husband), if he ever wanted to move anywhere else in the US he'd have to divorce me first because I wasn't leaving Oregon!  I truly love it here.

For those from Britain and Ireland, it is as green as the Emerald Isle, with the weather much like you'd experience in Great Britain.

There are tons of jokes about our weather, usually having to do with the rainfall which really is pretty wet in a normal year.  (this year has just been weird) Forinstance:  "How do you tell an Oregonian?"  answer:  "They are the ones carrying an umbrella under their arm while walking in the rain because it isn't raining that hard." (and never does, lol)  Let's see, my roses are often still in bloom in November because the weather is so mild, but they look bedraggled because the rainy season is basically September till June.  It's not constant and rarely a hard rain.  More a mist or drizzle with the occasional storm.  Where I am, (close to Portland), the weather is very gentle.  A half inch of snow sends everyone in a panic and closes schools.  Seriously!  The summers can be hot but not usually unbearably so and I really can't remember them being humid.  Grass goes brown in the summer mostly because most Oregonians are careful with natural resources like water, but it's green the rest of the year with very little effort besides mowing.  The mountains have snow on them, and glaciers, and at the moment you can still ski on Mt. Hood.  This state has it all.  We have coastal land on the Pacific, two mountain ranges, lovely valleys, a desert area, (high desert), a plains area, wetlands and wilderness.  It is a very clean state.  Roses are often planted in median strips on the highways and we have a huge Rose Festival which is in full swing at the moment.  Lasts pretty much for the month of June.

Lovely state to live in or visit!
What?  Grannies can't play games?
I speak perfect Nooblik, (and some Simlish)!

Wow, almost wants to make me move or visit, lol.  Sounds lovely.  Florida, well, lets just say it is Florida.  It has its ups and downs.  I lost my house in hurricane charlie a few years ago, but actually, when they started to rebuild, it was bigger and better.  Sunsets are gorgeous over the water, I will give it that, but I am really tired of this weather, lol.

I second everything Joria has say.  I live in the Gorge, which is spectacularly beautiful.  But also windy.  There's a spot nearby where people joke that if you jump up in the air you'll land in the next county. lol

Here's some info about the Gorge Scenic Area, a MUST SEE for anyone planning to come visit. :)  http://www.crgva.org/

Wanna hear my new Oregon joke, Joria?  You call it June?  I say it should be renamed Monsoon Season!!  *ba dum da*

Hello again to everybody and welcome to all the newbies (from a still newbie).

Here in northern Alberta, Canada I woke up this morning (8 am) to a balmy 8 degrees Celsius, mainly sunny, West-South-West breeze of 13 kilometers an hour. My little potted garden is flourishing (peas, carrots, corn, tomatoes, and green peppers) and so are the weeds.  :P

All is good.

You mean the joke about jumping up and down? It probably means that the country (according to the joke) is very small. But I can get that wrong.

Actually, it's because the wind is so strong and the county line is 5 miles away. lol

And the part about Monsoon Season, well... you probably wouldn't get it unless you were here 2 weeks ago.  We had 4 times as much rain in 4 days than we usually get in the entire month.

Well, Sweden doesn't have a Monsoon season (it's cloudy and dark nonetheless all the time), but in the Southern parts (where most people live) we get more rain than in Great Britain!

Hehe Aria, in Holland we have all sorts of weather, on the most ridiculous times you can imagine. And it can change every moment. If it's nice weather outside today than don't forget to take your raincoat with you the next day. Because you never know.
If EA decided to make another Weather game, just for TS3, they better go to Holland for some inspiration time. One week will probably enough (a random week) to see all things weather here.

Well, I think I win with an hail storm in May (almost June one year) at 15 degrees C! (took it on my calculator and its 59 degrees F)
(FYI: Summer in Sweden is normally considered to be June, July and partially August; not longer, so this was almost summer)

Oh yeah, welcome to the forum LadyLemming! ;D

Welcome LadyLemming!

Leto - I've been told that the weather here in the Pacific Northwest region of the US is very similar to Holland or Ireland.  Lots of gray days and rain.  But lovely summers!  Too bad summer is more than a little late this year.  :(

Swede - We win, it hailed here the first week of June and when it happened it was also in the 50's.  I think I must have looked like a Sim with a big ? over their head when it happened. lol

Pally- I'd love to go to Australia someday!  Too bad I didn't get there when I was single, I'm a sucker for accents! lol

Hi fellow Simmers. I have been lurking so long now that I feel I know all of the regulars by now.

Been playing Sims since 2004 and just love this site. It has been very helpful to me.

I am in sunny South Africa. Never seen snow here so I am eagerly anticipating a weather ep so I can have my sims play in the snow! Looking forward to participating in the forums instead of just reading them.

I'm maddyclyde9 and i love sims 3. I've been using CS3G for a long time, though I just noticed there was a forum! Anyway, I love Sims 3 and spend every second on it mainly, since none of my friends can come over (long story).
