About tiberium:

Tiberium is a part of WA expansion pack, but it's even not listed as a new gem from that ep's destinations, it's listed as separate gem, like soulpeace, I believe it came with the update released on the same day. And they are NOT duplicating. At least in my game. I put that gem on the ground outside, and a day or so later it grew to a big spire cut (I had it cut as a small spire cut). This changed it's value from 7000 $ to 40000$, which is really huge in my opinion! Thank you for additional info about this gem from the guide!  :D
Just got the 'Death of Michael Jackson' moodlet, applies for 14 days, -200 mood

Tiberium is not one of the gems you find in other locations suc as Jade and Amethyst. Instead you can get it through transfiguration, relic merchant, consignment store, or breaking a space rock with the board breaker. Theses are the only ways I know how to get them. Now as for being able to find and grow Tiberium without World adventures. I doubt it. The main way to get Tiberium is through transfiguration or the board breaker, two things you can only do with world adventures. I hope this helps.

It's possible to find one in the wild, just not common.

I believe laundry appliances didn't come within a patch but the ability to do laundry did - IF you buy the washer and dryer from the Sims 3 Store then you can do laundry without having Ambitions installed.

I bought this before I got Ambitions, hoping it would let me do laundry. It would not install. Not, ironically, I never do laundry because it is a pain.

Oh I've never found it in the wild so I just assumed it could not be found since I have found almost every other gem in the wild.

It's fairly rare in the wild, but does exist.  I want to say it's mostly in Egypt, but it may be in the other countries, too.

I've found it in China, as well as Egypt. Can't say about France as I've only had sims go there twice to get nectar machines and racks.

I just had a Dynasty Sim spend 9 days collecting in France (yes they went every day!) and no tiberium.

The Prima Guide to World Adventures has maps showing the locations of various collectibles.  Egypt is the only one showing spawn locations for Tiberium.  Of course, the Prima Guide sometimes has errors or omissions, but this seems to fit with what people have been reporting in this thread.  Sdinger, when you found it in China was it in the "wild" or in the Relics shop?

I am pretty sure, say 80%, that it was in the wilds - but it's been a couple of months or longer. But I know I did get it in China and it wasn't from board breaking.

I found a really easy way of getting all of the metals and gems without going on adventures.  Just check the consignment store every day or so for a drill, the one you can eventually make if you are an inventor.  Drill in a park away from the houses so you can drill all night long. Remember to put the drill in your sim's inventory when they go home or it might become invisible.  You will find many tiberiums, pink diamonds, soulpeaces, and whatnots.

Unfortunately, there is not too many at any one time in Egypt.  I think at any given time, I have only found two.  I know there are probably some in tombs and maybe some on adventures.  It is fun trying to find them though.  I too, have never found any tiberium in the other two countries.

It's fairly rare in the wild, but does exist.  I want to say it's mostly in Egypt, but it may be in the other countries, too.

The only one I have ever found in the wild, I found in Egypt on the shores of the river near the pyramid.

And now to dispatch with this silly rumor, once and for all:

I waited with much anticipation for WA, and bought it the day it came out.  The first place I traveled to was China, and I bought everything I could buy there shortly before I went home.  Martial Arts became my absolute favorite skill to train instantly (before I discovered Nectar Making, and subsequently Photography lol).  After maxing the skill, I set about achieving all the skill challenge, and board breaker was the first.  I found a lot of gems, and Tiberium was one of the first.  At first I couldn't cut it, so I carried it around for a while (and it doesn't make you sick if it's not cut btw), but after finding a bunch of gems, the spiral cut finally came up while I was mailing out gems.  So I shipped it off.

This was long before I knew anything about transfiguriation, so all I was doing was displaying them in the house.  I thought the spire cut was kinda neat, so it got a place of honor by itself on the coffee table in the living room.  Of course, it grew in a couple of days...but it was a long time before I realized that this made it increase in value, so I left it there.

It sat on that coffee table for 3 generations, and it didn't duplicate.

So not only does it no longer duplicate, it never did in the first place.
