Author Topic: Unable to upload profile picture (Read 1127 times)

When I click the button beside 'I will upload my own picture:' under 'Forum Profile Information' I will choose the path to upload my 'arm' picture, because most of you want that so much.

But when I after that click on 'Change Profile' the picture doesn't get uploaded. As you all can see, it is the red X that is representing me once again. So what did I wrong?

Btw, why my pic keeps disapearing over time I have simply no idea off. It is like I don't have my arm under control anymore.

Let's just help this poor moderator, right folks? Yes, you will.

I had the same problem with my old avatar. It wouldn't let me upload Epic Pwnage, so I had to use another one of Tak. What was wrong with my old one?

But that is weird. On both my computer and laptop it doesn't show up at all.

It doesn't show up for me either Leto. I had to finally upload my avatar into the new Screenshots Gallery so my could be seen as it kept disappearing also. Maybe try it that way.

I can see it just fine, too, Leto. And just so you know, I've got a back up of your arm safely stored on my computer in case you ever lose it again.

I can see your picture when I'm on my PC at home, but my laptop at work won't show it. I think it's something to do with a plug-in, but I'm not techy enough to know what the exact problem is.

It does not show up on mine either. I do keep getting the little pop up bar when I log into the site and it asks me if I want to install an add on, maybe that is it, not sure.

I just installed something on the server related to the resizing of images when they're uploaded to the forum as avatars, apparently it was not in place. I'm not sure if that will fix it or not. I went into the admin panel and see all avatars as they should be. Refresh your caches/temp files to make sure your browser is in line with the fix..

Plugin? Now that is concerning. What is the name of this plugin it's trying to install? I have nothing of the sort set up.

Ok at least I am having the problem now. I just installed IE 8 and can't see a couple of your avatars now. Great, now what to do

I took the liberty of fixing leto and simstar's avatars. You can see the why/how in my announcements thread. Simstar you should be able to get your Epic Pwnage pic working again.

The bar says when I log onto the site " Website wants to install following add-on, "Quick Time from Apple Inc."

Edit: It started popping up right after the new tabs were installed, no one else has this? Maybe it is something from my computer, but I won't install it, because I do not trust certain sites.

There's nothing about quicktime in my code, so I'd ignore it. I know the forum is clean though, so rest on that. Seriously, I read mentions about quicktime, windows, and png file associations researching this problem.

I have had Quick Time installed on my computer for quite awhile now and still could not see Leto's or Simstar's avatars. Today I can them both so Carl must have been able to fix it. Way to go Carl

Just a note - Quick Time is the best media player/viewer I have been able to find that allows me to see movies on my computer without having any interference or breaks. Its funny that an Apple program works the best on my PC.

I really didn't understand one single word of your texts Carl, haha! But I'm glad I can see my arm again. It somehow got fixed anyway. The same do count for Simstars pic: visible for me.
Maybe it was just a delated Milennium Bug. Very, very delated...

No, I just meant that I saved the picture of your arm on my computer. If it gets lost or misplaced, we'll still have it on my computer. It's so popular and I remember how sad everyone was when it disappeared last time.
