Time to make my away team, comprised of ancestors of Scottie, Ahura, (maybe), Data, Spock, and who knows who I'll really dream up.  This one is fun.  Signing out and energizing.  (Scottie NEVER beamed anyone up nor were the words, "beam me up Scottie",ever used in any Star Trek adventure I know of, he and others just "energized".)

That's so awesome that lots of you guys are getting into the Star Trek spirit of things. I personally am hoping that Seven of Nine is going to take a part time job at the spa to assist me in my vacation plans. Oh, Joria — it's Uhuru.

Ok, Metro, will do that today.  Ummm, there is also a huge tomb area under the nectary which I'll check out first since I already have some sims in France.
Were you maybe thinking of the basement of the nectary? Down there, there's a stereo, sink and toilet by memory that is accessible by anyone.

And of course, the 2 nectar machines. Those objects I definitely included in the total for that building.

Nope.  Waaaay down, like three levels down with one more under that.  But I was wrong anyway because there is a bedroom and lounge/dining area with a bathroom off that so there are things to upgrade even down there.  However, if I had not been using a cheat I would not have been able to access it without doing the challenge involved.  Lots of keys needed.

Mmmm, Uhuru is a (I think), Swahili word and a title of a book, I think we're both off and it was Uhura with an A on the end.  You've got my curiosity peaked now so I'll look it up along with the other characters.  Hubby reeled off more than I even remembered there being, even with me being a Trekky from day one.  Maybe I'll just go with the spoof of it aka Galaxy Quest, my all time favorite funny movie. (second only to Cave Man with Ringo Starr in it)

I don't know how it's spelled, but it was definitely pronounced "Uhura".  Also, of course, Spock, Kirk, McCoy, Scotty, Chekov, Sulu, and nurse Christine Chapel.

Yep. It's definitely Uhura with an "a" on the end.

haven't finalised my team yet but I'm having Wesley Crusher and I don't care what anyone says, I was like 11 when they started showing TNG over here and he was smarter than anyone else on board and cute - what more could a pre-teen girl want? ;) Probably also going to have Data because he was my second fave. I was going to go with Miles O'Brian and Geordie LaForge but I feel the team is lacking girl power so I may have to drop them and go with B'Elanna Torres and Seven of Nine

What about Ro Lauren or Tasha Yar for some next generation girl power.

Mmmm Tasha Yar now that's a goodie.  Mine are going to be all female and all descendants of the famous and well known members of the cast.  In the later episodes when Kirk had already retired or was promoted to a (shudder), desk job, and when Patrick Stewart became Jean Luc Picard, some of the older members had had children and I believe there were even episodes when Spock's child, (or grandchild), was on, ditto with Kirk's.  Correct me if I'm wrong.  Anyway, I think it would be awesome to have original team members descendants be carrying on the tradition.

Hey, this is WAAAY off topic, but what the heck, right? We're all friends. :) Anyway, I'm watching American Pickers last night and Mike and Frank get the job to pick out special items for William Shatner and his wife. It was crazy. Mike couldn't help himself and just kept doing cornball Star Trek and sci-fi humor. "We're going to pick you stuff that's out of this world. We're going to go where no man has gone before." Shatner tried to act amused, but looked like he was in pain.  :D

Gheez worked her spreadsheet magic and sent me a great scoring sheet that everyone can use for this event. I posted the link in the scoring section of the rule set. Gheez, thank you so much!  :D

No problem.   ;D  Hope it is user-friendly.

Oh and, by the way, I'm so hoping that there may be more 'cornball Star Trek and sci-fi humor' posted along with the scores here.  Nothing can make one groan in such a good way as a bit of corn or a dreadful pun.

(I'm not really a computer whiz - it's just that, rather nerdishly, I like using them.)

Thanks so much, Gheez!  If all you have to do is enter your time in the white boxes, it is definitely user-friendly.  I think more people will play this challenge now because they can use your spreadsheet.  It also gives you a better idea of how it all comes together so you can strategize.

EDIT:  I have to say, even in testing this is so far the most fun I have ever had with a challenge!

Excellent spreadsheet! :)

I added it as a new tab to the spreadsheet I have going to keep track of all of the upgradable items in each of the locations. I've found that it helps me to stay organized in my test-run to have a list of everything and just change the color to indicate that the upgrade is done. Then it's easy to see what still needs to be finished, and I don't have scraps of paper all over the place.  Maybe sounds a little bit intense, but I honestly have fun keeping track of everything throughout the challenges in my lists!

Thank you sooo much for the spreadsheet as I was one of the hopeless ones on the last challenge that botched my math. Also I am with Metopolis Man, even with me being a girl Seven Of Nine is HOT, wish I could make a sim look like her!

Not sure if I've seen this in the rules but is there an order to which the worlds are to be updated?

Do we have to do Sunset Valley first, then China, France, etc? Or can we do them in any order that we want?

I have a question. Regarding the number of items to upgrade in China at the base camp. I can only find 13. The portable Boom Box is not upgradable.

Quote from your Handiness Skill Guide
Quote
Improve Speakers : Level 3 : Adds +10 to the enjoying music moodlet. Use this on stereos. One of my favorite upgrades in the Sims 3. Too bad you can't use it on the portable boombox to take with you when Fishing

Schip PM'd me the other day saying the same thing — she could only find 13. I'm guessing you missed the trash compactor next to the kitchen sink too?

My crew is ready to go. At the moment, they are kicking back in the Hologram Lounge waiting for the command to transport to Sunset Valley to commence their mission.

Yup. I don't usually go for clothing CC, but I really wanted to play the part. Only the shirts and dress/top are CC, everything else is game content. I was surprised at how little Star Trek CC there actually is available for TS3. Luckily these were from a site that I have a fair amount of confidence in so I grabbed them.
