ADVENTURE: Torched, Soaked, and Cursed
« on: December 20, 2009, 07:47:39 PM »
This is the adventure I'm doing right now in Egypt and I already allowed my sim to be torched, had her jump in a dive well, and now she's gotta try to get cursed by a mummy. I'm wondering if she'll even be able to since she is a Grand Master and can beat up any mummy that comes her way. Plus, they always seem to like her for some reason. LOL

Well I got rid of all of her mummy snacks....put them in a storage chest and had her go into the Pyramid of the Sky without any ammunition. Has anyone done this one and not been able to get a mummy to curse you?

I wonder if it would help if your Sim was in a really really bad mood and low on energy. I'd hate for my martial artist to have to try that myself... he's just too powerful. Let me know how this goes for you. Lets hope this doesn't turn out to be World Adventures' bad apples quest.

She beat up the first two mummies she encountered. Now she's got to go searching for others to fight. I was trying to remember where that mean one was. There was one who seemed a lot meaner than the others but I can't remember where I saw him. It might have been in China because that was where she went last.

Ok, she's fought 7 mummies now and has won every single fight. I was hoping that she'd get cursed anyway, because I think that you can get the curse even if you don't fight and even if you beat them. I'm not sure....but I think that's the case. The teen girl I was playing a week or so ago, got the curse and she didn't even fight the mummy....she just encountered him.

Anyway, I think it's funny how there are fat mummies and skinny mummies. And there's one mummy that she encountered the other day who is now a friend of hers and shows up in her friends panel. LOL I think that was the one that really liked her.

Thought you all might like to see some of my fights.....some of them are really funny!  ;D What I ended up having to do was to use the "buydebug" cheat so that I could simply give all the sarcophagi a 100% chance of producing a mummy so that she'd have more opportunities to encounter them and more of a chance of getting the curse. There really aren't that many mummies so in order to complete this challenge, I needed to have a lot of mummies. Problem is....she's still too strong for them and beats them all anyway. I think I may have to do what Carl suggested and have her go in while she's very tired and hungry.

Fight #1 (Pyramid of the Sky)

Fight #2 (Pyramid of the Wind)

Fight #3 (Pyramid of the Wind)

Fight #4 (Pyramid of the Wind) I know this looks similar as fight #3, but notice that this mummy is fatter. LOL

Fight #5 (Pyramid of the Burning Sands- I think)

Fight #6 (Pyramid of the Burning Sands)

Fight #7 (Pyramid of the Burning Sands)

I always have her sing "Oh Where is My Mummy" every time she sees one. LOL

This one cracks me up because she has him in a head lock!

So off she goes.....looking for more mummies to fight.....

Hey Rockin, those pics are hiliarous!  I had a guy sim go to Egypt and got cursed from just encountering a mummy...but he had no marial arts skill.  Don't think you are going to get a mummy meaner than your little sim chick.  :D

My lil martial arts sim is going to be going to Egypt soon and I'm so looking forward to her beating up mummies.  :D  She already beat up a burglar, twice.  Jerk thought he could rob her house the second time...I don't think so.  ;D

LOL Bshag....yeah, she may be little, but she's one tough cookie!

I know that you can get a mummy's curse just from encountering them and that's what I was hoping. I don't think it matters what level martial arts you are, because like I said, I had a teen girl I was playing who got cursed just from encountering the mummy and she was level 10.

She wasn't a Grand Master like this sim is though...

This sim has won all the challenges within the Martial Arts skill including breaking almost 1700 boards and winning over 100 fights. So yeah she's pretty tough.  :D

I'm gonna take her back in some tombs tonight....maybe in China...and see if she can get cursed there. But then she'll have to go back to Egypt to complete the adventure.

My sim is in China now and still trying to get cursed. She's still not having much luck because I guess she's just too tough. I suppose she won't be able to finish this challenge. Oh well....it's been a fun one anyway.

You can find a naste mummy at the Sfinx, who will curse you no matter how much of a skilled fighter you are.

My sim lady got cursed from this one, even though she had kicked a bunch of other mummies arses and got a level 10 in Sim Fu and atlehtic.

Yeah, I can't confirm a mummy in there will curse you but it seems like if you've been to the second level of the great pyramid as you have, and clear the sphinx, there aren't gonna be any left to try that could even come close... guess this will end up incomplete for Sims that are already skilled in fighting, bummer. But kudos for the funny shots ;)

Yeah it is a bit of a bummer, because I really hate leaving adventures undone. But it just seems that there isn't a mummy who can beat her. The thing that surprises me though is that she can't seem to get cursed even by just encountering them because I know that is possible. Maybe because she has the "brave" trait so they don't really scare her?

It's hilarious though.....I always have her sing "Oh Where is My Mummy" whenever one comes out because you know how they always walk the opposite direction at first? When she starts singing, they stop walking and turn toward her and usually stop for a minute and listen, and then go after her.  :D :D :D

Well the Great Sphinx was my last hope.

Fight #10 (The Great Sphinx)

Fight #11 (The Great Sphinx)

This is what the mummies sometimes do when you sing to them.  :D :D

Fight #12 (The Great Sphinx)

Fight #13 (The Great Sphinx)

Fight #14 (The Great Sphinx) Thought she might lose this one!

It's looking bad for Audrey! The mummy quickly gets the upper hand.

But she's too quick for him and when he's not looking, she jumps him!

He never even knew what hit him!

This mummy is not going down easy though! Will Audrey win this time? Or has she finally met her match?

When all is said and done, Audrey kicks this one's butt too!

Here I come, possibly spoiling the fun.

Mummy's are spawned with skill lvl 5-10 athletic and skill lvl 5-10 martial arts (it's random for both).  They don't have any sparing done (and I believe that sparring plays a role in winning fights).  Basically, your sim (like one of mine) will seem to be unbeatable.

I created a kind of work around at modthesims.info that's a cursed Dive Well.  It's a purchasable dive well that's been cursed by a mummy.  As a result, it gives you the mummy's curse when you dive in.  I made it because I was more concerned about completing the adventure than using mods.  Hope this is helpful.

Thanks gnowor, I may just check into that. I haven't yet canceled the adventure....I was just trying to get cursed and have been unsuccessful because my sim is too tough. (10 athletic, and 10 martial arts plus she's a Grand Master with about 200 fights under her belt)

TA-TA-TATA GRAND FIRST POST! ???

For cheaters, use the change traits cheat and change your sim´s traits to coward, clumsy, unlucky, loser, and grumpy and you will lose the fights against mummies  ;) . I recomend to save before encountering a mummy to make sure if you doesn´t get cursed the first time, you can try until you get it. For normal players, purchase the mid-life crisis reward to change traits for 20,000 lifetime happiness points and other 20,000 to change your original traits back.

My sim is level 6 on 7 martial arts so I don´t know if it will work on a level 10, but I hope I helped!  :)

i started off with two elder sims, one to make ambrosia to keep them alive, the other to become a martial arts master. He is so awsome; no one can come close to him

Am currently struggling with this adventure, I can't seem to get torched :( set off the one firetrap (or so it seems) in Egypt, and it didn't update for me. :( Am I missing something? Am I being totally thick?
