Till yet my sim is living on mooched and harvested food.

Despite having well over $100k, my homeless teen has yet to spend money on food.  Anything she eats is either a school lunch or was mooched off another sim.

Her daily routine:  Monday-Friday, she gets up and goes to school, and spends a good part of the school day working on her late homework.  Directly from school, she goes to the consignment store where she takes a sponge bath in the sink, gets the consignment store clerk to help her with her with some of her homework (she's usually too stressed to finish it), and either plays the drums for tips in the store or naps on the couch.  Then the police come and give her a free ride to her squalid little lot where she naps until school the next day.  On the weekends, she takes a sponge bath in the bathroom in the big park in the middle of Bridgeport, mooches food of some random passer-by, then plays in the subway the rest of the day until the police catch her out after curfew.  Sometimes, if she's really hungry late at night, she'll try to sneak off her lot to find someone to mooch a meal off of...but occasionally she ends up getting drug back home before she does.

What are sponge baths, by the way?

Oh, and can Slob trait help in making a good beggar?

A sponge bath is when a Sim washes himself in the sink.  With a sponge.

Just what Pam said they were.  Your sims can give themselves a sponge bath at any sink if they have the Inappropriate trait.  The only shower my homeless sim has ever seen was at Elspeth Cook's house, when she invited her over after school (she used it, of course lol).

Oh, and can Slob trait help in making a good beggar?

It would definitely make for a happier beggar.  They won't mind messes as much, can eat spoiled food, and even "lick plates clean" in order to get an extra meal out of dirty dishes.

It's been awhile since I've played a slob.  Does licking plates clean raise their hunger bar?  I don't remember it doing that.  I'm going to play a slob soon because the animations are just so funny.

Then I will try making a slob and inappropriate beggar. The food problem is solved, the sleeping problem is solved, and the problem lefts are toilets and social.

So about toilets, can your sim pee on a wall? I guess not, because I never saw that feature. So where should a beggar pee?

Come on...  that's kind of crude.  And you already know Sims can't do that.  Take your Sim to the gym, pool, park, fire station, etc. to use the bathroom.

Does licking plates clean raise their hunger bar?

It not only raises it, it fills it to full...but it doesn't give the "stuffed" moodlet if they're not hungry.  The reason you may not have noticed it is because typically a slob will grab a plate and lick it clean automatically if they're standing around with nothing to do, regardless of their hunger level.

A way of making money for beggars, is to rummage in rich sims' households. I sometimes find good metals. But I don't sell them so easily. I consign them up.

Did you test this before you posted?  You cannot consign metals.  I just tested it with both raw and smelted metals in my Sim's inventory.  Neither come up on the list for consignment.  Please don't post something that you're not certain of.  We have a reputation for having good and reliable information here.  When you post something that's untrue, it hurts our reputation and that's not a good thing.  If someone were to see your information and take to heart, then find out that it cannot be done, not only will that person be upset at you for posting it, but he/she would be upset at us for allowing it.  Please be more careful, ok?

Once I found a metal from mining. I thought it would be good to sell. Then the idea of consignment came to my mind. I don't know how, but I had consigned it easily without any problem. I don't know if it was only my game having this bug, or something else. I thought that you guys are also consigning the metals.

I didn't tell a lie, because in my game, I had consigned many metals easily in Bridgeport. I didn't say anything untrue. :(

I didn't mean that you had told a lie.  But that maybe you had posted something that you heard somewhere that you hadn't actually confirmed for yourself.  I'd like for you to see if your Sim can still sell metals to the consignment shop.  Give us as many details as you can...  what type of metal, was it raw or smelted, etc.  If you can get screenshots of the metal showing up in your list of things to consign, that would be great.

Well I forgot to take the screenshot, but I can recall some details. It was smelted iron which I got from looting a tomb in France. After returning, I felt a need to get a harvester, so my sim went to consignment store. From there, I got the idea to sell the two extra bottles of nectar my sim had in his inventory. After opening the consign list, I saw smelted iron in the list too, but could not select it and press consign button. I tried very hard to sell, but it could not be sold other than from inventory or buy/build mode.

Not only iron, but many inventions and other sell-able things didn't select in the consign list. Some of them even hid from the list.

I have not tried since then, because it was probably a bug. Hundreds of people have bugs, glitches and problems with the consignment store. Maybe I am one of them too.

Back on topic: So do you know any good back-alleys in Bridgeport? That would be perfect place for beggars.

So, are you saying you did not sell metal at the consignment shop?

Yes, but I tried to. But that is applied for all things. Once my sim was preparing to garden. He bought a lettuce and went to consign shop. I wondered if we could consign fruits, so I pressed consign button. Lettuce was in list.

I also tried to sell a gem I had in my sim's inventory. It was in the list. But that was same as metal. I couldn't select it. I tried to sell it again, but this time it was not in list.

What I would like for you to remember from all this is that you shouldn't post something about the game as fact unless you have absolutely done it yourself.  In this case, you said you sell metals at the consignment shop.  Then it turns out that you tried, but didn't succeed.  The important part is that you didn't succeed at it because the game doesn't allow you to sell metals at the consignment shop.  So, you shouldn't have made the claim that you sell metals in that way.  It's all a learning process for all of us.  :)

I'm just discussing. I am not at all saying anything to anyone who doesn't know this. There is no need to be so much strict. It ruins the fun. :(

Priyansh-I do not think Pam is being strict and ruin all the fun.  We are all here having fun and learning at the same time. By saying something that doesn't actually work can really confuse people.  I for one, if I read what you said and went in my game and tried it and it didn't work - then I probably would have started another post asking "Why Can't I Sell Metals in the Consignment Store" (since you said you could), then thinking maybe there is something wrong/glitch with "my game" which isn't fun.

On another hand it would be nice if we could sell metals in the Consignment Store.

There is every need to be strict when you are making things difficult.  However, this needs to be continued privately and not publicly on this thread.  I'll send you a private message.

Rules are rules, and everyone who works here is kind, and everyone who plays here is on free will.

Maybe this one got enough off topic that it can be locked/moved?  Just saying...

I vote for that, though did find this last post back just today. Priyansh has deleted himself long ago and as far as I'm consirnd there isn't anyone else interested in playing homeless beggars. Topic locked and moved.
