From January 2 --

I don't feel like doing any challenges at all right now since I'm still just having fun with WA but I'm sure I'll get around to doing this before March. So you can add me too Metro.

How in the world did I miss this, PJ? Sorry about that!

-----------

Okay, we're all good, folks. I got the scores in question fixed from the original posts. Sorry about that. Talk to you guys, tomorrow.

A suggestion for the next time you need to do something like that: copy the old non-table text, paste on excel/opencalc/googledocs/wevs, then either use a formula to generate the table code (like i did, through concatenate), or:
Insert 1 column at the beginning, 1 between each pair of columns, and one at the end, with
, , and
respectively (without the spaces). Then copy the whole thing back to the post.
What i mean is making a table like this:

I finished with perfect everything! My score:
29 plants x 4000 = 116,000
31 fish x 4000 = 124,000
36 recipes x 4000 = 144,000
Total perfect = 384,000
LTHA = 400,861
Total = 784,861

Wow... looks like the LTHP part of this is factoring into the finishing ranks even more than I'd initially anticipated!

I wonder exactly how much LTHP a Sim could accumulate over 100 days, if there is no other goal to occupy their time?...

(It bugs me just the tiniest bit that I got so close to, but did not break, 500k LTHP.)

I've been wondering the same thing. Sounds like a nice focused challenge in the future. The Happiest Centenarian on the Block that I moved to the Graveyard is basically that entire concept. But, challenge participation really never took off like gangbusters until the whole Tournament concept and the ranking evolved at the tail end of December. So, I think a lot of previous duds — with a little tweaking — will be successful if tried again.

So, I may be the last person signed up to finish this challenge, as in my game, I'm on Sunday afternoon of Week 4! My Lifetime Happiness Points is also not impressive, a measly 51,000 points through 3 weeks. I have 16 Perfects, but that still only gives me 115,000 points so far! My money level is low, and my food making is not going well. Luckily, I've already gotten the first Opportunity needed for the Omni plant, hopefully the other two come quickly. I also have every special seed planted, so I'm not really searching for seeds anymore. But yeah, I will probably finish dead last, but this has definitely been a learning experience for me. Hopefully I can do better in the nectar challenge (which I haven't even started yet) and the handiness challenge.

Good to read your update, jmz. Whether you finish dead last or not the important thing is you're having fun, right? And I think you'll do great in the nectar challenge with all of the gardening experience you're getting in this event.

Yeah, I'm definitely getting a lot of gardening experience! I'm still debating on a couple of strategical things before I start the nectar challenge though. I also need to find a way to get enough money early to buy the nectar making machines beforehand.

Just an update, I'm on about week 12 of this challenge.  It's been super fun!  My sim, Happy Sam, is having a total blast and is really racking up the LTH points.  I've decided NOT to make any nectar though, just couldn't handle it after doing the Nectar Challenge!  LOL!  Trying some other things instead to make him some cash and LTH.  :)

Just started week 13 so nearly there (phew).  Hopefully will have it finished some time in the coming week.  Doing OK score wise, should be in or near the top 10  ;D

Ha ha. Yeah, I don't blame you. There's a monster wish that I'll be curious if anyone else nabbed in the nectar tourney -- make 1000 bottles. Both Zeus and Hera were able to get that one. Lots of happiness points. And deservedly so. That is not an easy accomplishment and takes weeks of work.

Yeah, I was able to get the "make 1000 bottles" with my nectar making sim, my other sim in that tourney was pure gardening and didn't make any nectar.  Which is just as well because it pretty much took her all day just to tend everything and replace dead plants.

Please add me to the leader board for this challenge. (I thought I had posted here about two weeks ago. I guess I forgot.)

I'm already up to week 10. I have everything perfect except those stupid hot dogs. :P I can't understand how a Natural Cook with level 10 cooking skill can make perfect Lobster Thermidor on the first attempt but it takes about 20 tries just to get excellent hot dogs.

I'll be out of work for a little while due to injury, so I'll have plenty of free time in the near future. I should be able to finish the challenge sometime this week. After that I may try one of the older challenges before moving on to the nectar challenge.

You have EVERYTHING perfect by week 10? Wow. That would leave at least 4 weeks to do anything LTHP related stuff. I wonder how many points you could rack up in that amount of time, doing nothing but gaining points...

I just started week 14, and will hopefully finish this tomorrow.  Things are going well.  I saw the challenge board for the other challenges and can't hardly wait for the multi-generational one!!

You guys do a great job at coming up with these ideas!

I haven't been gaining many points lately because I haven't had many wishes coming up. I think I need to learn some new skills to trigger some new wishes.

I have enough points for another midlife crisis so I'm carefully thinking about which traits I should choose. I know there's one trait that will give me a lot of small wishes. There's another trait I can think of that might give me a few big wishes. And if those traits don't work I'll just get another midlife crisis as soon as I can.

Yeah, I know what you mean with the getting no wishes thing. Happened to me in weeks 2 and 3, and now I only have 100,000 points at week 5, day 3. At this rate, my score is going to suck big time. As soon as I get all Perfects, I'll probably also get a midlife crisis and get a couple traits that I know will be big time wish makers!

Ok, I'm done. :)  I didn't get all perfects but hopefully my LTH points will help out.

Plants x29= 116,000
Recipes x24 = 96,000
Fish x30 = 120,000
LTH points = 341,834

It's interesting, I was terrified of the travel portion of this challenge but that turned out to be a breeze.  The hard part for me was all those cooking recipes.  I guess I didn't plan enough time to get all of those recipes to perfect.  I think the way they have it set up is ridiculous though.  I had a fridge FULL of perfect fish and the best sushi I could make with maxed cooking skill and natural cooking trait was outstanding.  Even after about 15 tries I still couldn't get a perfect one.  Same story on a lot of other recipes.  Ugh...

Math checks out. You didn't push me down even farther, so it's good math.  ;D

Did you have fish in your Inventory too? I'm guessing you may have had some less than perfect fish in your Inventory and the game chose to use those for the recipes instead of what you stocked the fridge with.

Great job finishing up, AriaGirl. A very solid score.

Good job AriaGirl77.  Those recipes are a pain for some of them like Hot Dogs and Sushi.  I had the same problems you did with the sushi and had nothing but Perfect fish in inventory and fridge.
