Haha apparently not! However, if you wish to keep it at that score and bring to the top of the leaderboard, I'd be fine with that too! ;D

Metro, I need an answer, and quick please! ;D It turns out that we had to cut our vacation short and I'm back today instead of the planned tomorrow. Am I allowed to try and finish my 100 days in this challenge, or is that not allowed since I have already submitted a score?

That's fine. You made the decision based on what you thought would happen and things changed, so I'm okay with you continuing with that game. Finish up quick!

Okay, thanks so much Metro! ;D I should be able to finish up today, but I'll make my final score post later.

Well, at least in my neck of the woods, March 14th ends in about 4 hours (CST). So, the important thing for you 11th hour finishers is you must post final results while it's still the 14th where you live. No exceptions.

4000x
31 Fish
35 Foods (all but hot dogs)
29 Plants
= 380,000
+ 339,151
= 719,151

OMG, I am so close to the end of the day (it's about 9:30 PM my time), it's not even funny. But, I did finish and I am glad with my score! I had these items:

PERFECTS:
 36 Food
29 Plants (all but Gralladina Fran grapes, and my dilemma with those can be found on an earlier page in this thread)
+31 Fish
95 Perfects X 4,000 = 380,000 Points

 380,000
+414,211 LTHP
A total score of 794,211 Points!  However, you might want to check my math, just in case the calculator messed up ;

In case you're wondering why my score jumped 100,000 points, was because I played a whole two more weeks in the game, and I still had like 8 more foods to go in my other score. Then, I had some huge wishes come along, including the one to be worth $500,000 worth 14,000 points. Also, I literally got hot dogs perfect on the last day! Talk about cutting it close!

Well, folks, that's a wrap on the Perfectly Happy Challenge. I want to thank each and every one of you for kicking off the 2010 Tournament with gusto. I'm really happy — maybe even Perfectly Happy!  :D 29 participants from all over the world jumped into this event that has been grinding since the beginning of the year. It's finally over and ik stands at the top of the mountain. Well done, ik!

I hope to contact ik today for a little one on one chat to get some information for the new Hall of Fame.

Thanks again, everyone!

No kidding! Well, when we got to the camp site, we realized how crappy it was and decided we would probably stay 1 night instead of the planned 2.

Nice finish everyone.
So, did anyone have any tips they found helped them along with their score? I'm going to jump in in one I found. OK, obviously it didn't make a huge difference to my finishing place, but I know not everyone thought to do this.
I saw that some people were unable to catch all the perfect fish from the foreign locations. I used a simple method to get them all. While I was in the holiday destinations, I would fish using the bait for a particular fish till one of two things happened - either I got a perfect fish or I caught ten. Then when I came home, the first thing I did was to stock the pond in the park with the fish so I was able to go and fish and take a bit more time to get the perfects!
I also brought back ten frogs, even though I had caught a perfect one almost straight away. Then I stocked the pond with the frogs so that I could fish for them to be able to cook frogs legs.

Norma, I just created the Hall of Fame Sticky and ik shared with me a couple key personality traits for her Sim that resulted in some big wishes.

Perfectionist seems so obvious in retrospect.  :o I went with ambitious myself, but over-emotional and the three skill-based traits took the other slots. Like a lot of people I spent way too long on hot dogs. I'm not even sure how you get a link that's not 'normal' quality. Good job on topping the charts ik, and thanks for the explanation of your trait choices.

I've never gotten links above normal quality.  I just cooked hotdogs over and over at the end until I got a perfect one.  Lots of hotdogs went into the trash that day!

I went down the culinary career path and it made things much easier for the cooking side of things. I just forgot to keep one frog for the legs recipe in my hurry to get to visa level 2 and buy the other grapes from the special merchant. One of the adventures was to send 3 frogs then 3 crocodiles of neutral quality and then somethings else, so my frogs ran out then and I didn't notice until after Rose returned home.

One other thing... In a previous game I played, one of my characters got an adventure to check out the basement of the Dutiel household. In that one, there were cranerlet nuala grapes as well as gralladina fran (I think) grapes that you could harvest. Unfortunately, I tried and tried and tried to get that adventure, but it would not show up.

By the time I finally got perfect hot dogs I had about 17 less-than-perfect hot dogs in the fridge. I didn't want to throw them away, so I would bring them to the theater every time I went to play guitar. I would leave a few plates on the sidewalk while playing so the crowd could have something to eat when they got hungry. They were always gone by the end of the day.

I tried this one before I got WA, should have waited, lost out on 9 vacation days, all the LTHP I could have earned in those 9 days and the perfects, but I am pleased with my LTHP score, and everything else being perfect.
I upgraded my stove to improved meal quality. When I finished my perfects I got different job and used mid life crisis several times to spawn more wishes. I also stumbled into a personal trait that spawned the same wish about 4-5 times a day. I will let you guess what one it is, my real traits are: Natural Cook, Loner, Hates the Outdoors, Handy, and Genius (when restricted to Sims 3/WA options).

Edit: One more thing, this was a great challenge! I am sure others will see it and want to play, I would recommend color coding for ranked scores and post competition scores so others can still enjoy the challenge.

Now we're gettin' somewhere. I've seen those "Stay indoors for 24 hours wishes" when I had a Hates the Outdoors Sim." But, those certainly didn't fire multiple times every day. The only thing I'm guessing is that the Genius trait might fire multiple wishes of "Use Telescope" or "Play Chess." Am I warm? :)

I don't really understand what you're asking. Are you saying to allow the tournament table to be edited in the future if anyone else wants to try it?

Sorry, you got it backwards.

Yes, but make it so we still see what scores are from the tournament.

I don't play Hates the Outdoors sims very often, but whenever I have one who stays outside for too long they often get a wish to "Go Inside."

That's a fabulous idea!  I never thought to bring food for the crowd.  I'll have to try that now.  It sounds like it would be fun to watch.

Yes, but make it so we still see what scores are from the tournament.

The table is exclusive to this event. The event is over now, so it won't be amended. But, the thread won't be deleted. Anyone who missed the event can take part in the challenge and follow the rules. In fact, my plan is to leave all 2010 Tournament challenge threads right in this section the entire year. I won't move them to the Graveyard until December when I plan for next year's event and need to do the housekeeping.

That is what I did for mummy fish, only without the bait, because I could not use bait at that time ;) . Fortunately there is one pond in Egypt that has only mummy fish, so I got 10 mummy fish out of there and stocked the central park pond with them.

In the end I got so bored with the game I even used my Omni Plants to multiply some of the koi and stock them in central park pond, too, so combining a foreign fish with a couple of Omni plants and a home pond would have been another way to get the perfect foreign fish, although that way would take so much time I guess it would be hard to finish in time for the end of the tournament.
