OK, trying to clear a few things in my head. So if a child has/had a best friend and has been on the honor roll 3 day can we use the birthday cake even though as a toddler they only learned 2 of the three skills and so aged up normally?

Okay, folks. Clarifications time.

Do sim children need to have all the goal criteria at the same time? If a sim child has a best friend, gets on the honor roll for 3 days, and in the meantime loses that best friend status, can he/she still be aged up early?

I want to treat this the same as qualifying for Ambrosia in the Immortal Dynasty. Everything has to be in place at one moment in time. Players are already familiar with that concept anyway. So, if you do intend on aging a child up early, then all the requirements need to be in place at the time of aging up.

Can the Best Friend become the Romantic Interest?

Sure, that’s okay.

Correct. Aging up early for a given stage is all based on you fulfilling that stage’s requirements. If you somehow fell short in an earlier stage, that’s okay. You can can still age up a child early in a later stage provided they do everything necessary.

trying not to confuse other people here, but on the scoring you said to count how many children were born and then subtract how many are still in the house.

Here's my issue- wouldn't the mother and possibly the father still be part of the household? It seems to me you are counting the father and mother as children when looking at household numbers. Might be more accurate to say "subtract the number of children still in the house" or something to that effect.

What if a baby dies by accident? Can we count those too? You know, we can't control them when they move out, so they can easily drown or burn to death.

They still show up on the family tree - just as ghosts.

SO excited for this! I joined the forum after Baby Boomer II last year, and was disappointed to have missed it. Looking forward to practice and playing! :)

For the child stage, does the other sim have to be BFF or just Best Friend?  (I've never quite figured out how to get BFF so I should probably jump into the Relationship Guide again!)

Best Friends Forever (BFF) is a Teen only social. So, it's not available for a Child.

I don't think those count.  How can a baby that is a child of the original pair not be on your lot?  As I understand the rules (correct me if I'm wrong), only children and not grandchildren count.

TheChronicR was referring to the grown up children of the original pair as their babies.

But, the bottom line is any Sim you'd move out that would meet an unfortunate demise would still show up as a ghost in the family tree, right? If that's the case, then I have no problem with anyone counting ghosts as well.

Thanks Metro. It seems that my game is obsessed by drowning NPC's. The newspaper just scares me when I read it.  :)

Lol, it's not me, it's my crazy game. It happens both in Sunset Valley and Twinbrook. I'll have to check Barnacle Bay too. I hope it doesn't occur with Riverview too, since I'm getting it sooner or later.  :)

I am assuming that we will not be allowed to age babies into toddlers early.

Yeah, unfortunately not, Rachel. I'm open to suggestions as to an appropriate requirement, but there honestly isn't any for babies — that's the problem.

Maybe, have babies' moods high for a certain time? i.e. a day, or 12 hours.

I vote for if they come in either a blue or a pink blanket, you can age them up immediately.  ;D

Might have to start my first test over already.

Are all traits for the mom allowed?

How about if mum has a good pregnancy and can pick both the traits for the baby we can age the baby up a day early. I am thinking that having a happy pregnancy will be quite easy the first pregnancy but once those babies start arriving it will get harder.

I'm liking Rachel's idea. It's much better than mine. Can we? Please? :)

That is the only thing I can think of for infants is the traits.  If mom can chose both, cake after 24 hours.  If mom can only chose one trait, cake after 48 hours.  If the game choses both traits then no cake for baby.

How about if you can keep baby from crying for more than an hour at a time, you can age him/ her up X days early? I say no more than an hour at a time because it's impossible to keep baby from crying at all- cries when he/she uses bathroom. but if mom or dad can get there in an hour and change baby, the stage could be considered a happy one.
