Oh yes, they are getting their skills and fast.  I almost forgot how it was in Baby Boomer I.  You had to go through the whole cycle and no aging up, so this should make it somewhat smoother, I could be wrong, I have been before, lol.  Thanks Schipperke, I had read that before and I have been playing normal for a while, so I got too use to it.

It's in the wiki? lol, I didn't think to go there. I just had a test couple have a baby and let them stand around for three days with static needs to wait for baby!

Edited to ask a question. Do the best friends have to be outside of the family. I am guessing that a child having a full relationship bar with a sibling would not be allowed.

Rachel

I didn't see an answer to this question, and was also curious about what the answer is.

Also, do the best friends all have to be unique? Or can they share a best friend?

15 days as a toddler, and not one or two, but even more, is indeed a challenge! Poor mother and father... Sheesh! :)

Super.

Rachel's idea has officially been implemented. Thank you, Rachel.  ;)

Aw shucks don't mention it.

I have another question. Say our Sims have twins can we age one twin up once they learn their skills or do we have to wait till both toddlers are fully skilled up. The same goes for the child and teen stages can we age them up once they reach the criteria or do we have to wait.

Wowza Metro. I know challenges are supposed to be challenging, but whoa! All those kids, without make needs static?! I love the idea of this, but as a player who doesn't actually have to take care of babies, it's a scary thought!  ;D

Yup, same for me. I guess I shall reconsider my participation in this event. I'm a fan of that cheat, so the only time I turned it off is my new BB file and Bishop Takes Head Kick challenge. Now that's what I call a real challenge!  :D

Is that 6 weeks on long or maybe epic? I just aged a child up to teen and he has 30 days before aging up (on long)

Norma

Ah, that’s right. I was doubling in my head what the Normal Teen stage is and I was thinking the Normal Teen stage was 3 weeks — it’s only 2 weeks. So, 4 weeks, or about 30 days sounds right. Still, too long! :)

I didn't see an answer to this question, and was also curious about what the answer is.

Sorry. I’ll clarify that in the rules momentariliy.

As soon as a Child fulfills requirements for a stage he/she is eligible to be aged up. It does not matter if they have identical siblings and if those siblings have yet to fulfill the requirements.

I just clarified the Best Friend rule — it's not going to be easy that's for sure — household members do not qualify, and all BF must be different from each other. Teen Romantic Interests must also all be different from each other.

Let's try and keep the small talk to a minimum in this thread because what I fear is this turns into a 50-page thread before the event even begins and someone joining the forum in May has a mountain of reading ahead of them before they even start. But, if you still have questions, concerns...ask away.

  • If a mom had a very happy pregnancy resulting in your picking two traits for the baby you may age the baby up to Toddler when there are 3 days left in the Baby stage.
Does this mean we can age the baby up on midnight of the day that they have three days left?

As long as the baby's age stage says 3 days left, it does not matter when you age up the baby.

I've started playing this one a bit, and have a new question.

The rules specifically say that we should use a cake to age up offspring that have met the goals for that stage. I finished all three skills for one of my toddlers, and with a brand new birthday cake, it was too far from when they were scheduled to age up for them to have the option of blowing out the candles. Has anyone else come across this?

Just wanted to clarify if it's okay to use the cheat for 'Trigger Age Transition' to age them up as soon as the requirements are met.

Alyssa, you didn't say how old your toddler was when you tried to age up, but in my practice game I was able to age one up the day after she became a toddler, right after she mastered her third skill.

That is strange, unless something has changed, I have always been able to use the birthday cake at anytime, regardless how far or close it was to aging up. :)

It was a set of twins, and only the first one had mastered all three skills. I'm not 100% sure, but it may have been the same day that he aged up from an infant. When I opened the 'blow out candles' option, it had only four of the six household members: Mom, Dad, and the two younger infants, but neither of the twins in question. I wonder if it was a matter of not being able to use the cake twice in one 24 hour period. I'll have to go back and check.

I definitely don't want to resort to complicating the challenge rules with cheats if it's not necessary, so I'll go back and make sure I'm not just having a mind-lapse moment. Thanks for the feedback! :)

That's definitely the answer.

Good because I do not want to either. Everyone is in the same boat, so forcing you to wait until you are able to use a cake the next day is something everyone will have to contend with too.

I knew, but I usually don't do challenges (this is my first one) so when I was able to apply I decided to apply when I found a challenge I like. I LOVE babies, so this seemed great to me.

P.S. As of right now, I have 3 toddlers (one single, one set of boy-girl twins) and 3 nooboos. (boy triplets). Too. Many. Babies.

what happens if you accidentally age up the wrong child? I name my kdis A-Z to help distinguish, but I accidentally had the wrong kid grow up!  is it game over?
