Wow, I'm in third.

I better get my act together and finish random wishmasters!

Ha ha. Yeah, just two more weeks for Wishmasters. It's almost laughable for me to see the field size of the leaderboard because I think the vast majority of players that hopped in that thought: "Oh, wow. What a cool event." But, then the reality of the amount of work hits them. I know the vast majority of that leaderboard will be wiped two weeks from today because so many will never submit scores. But, that's just a tribute to those that stuck it out and finished.

Yes wishmasters is a bear, and I have starcraft 2 to play. So many choices so little time. My wishmasters score is going to suffer. :)

Uh-huh. Is this the point where you're trying to get my hopes up?  :D

I am a spreadsheet Geek.  I failed the 12 step program to remove myself from this addiction but I did set up a sheet to see my level of progress.  My sponsor quit and rejoined after having seen my own work.  I'm not sure there is a connection but one never knows.

Metro, please feed my addiction and allow me a copy of this spreadsheet or point me to where I can peruse it on my own please?  Thank you very kindly.

No can do. This is my own personal spreadsheet at home and is not for anyone else's viewing (except maybe Carl and Pam). It's not that I don't trust anyone else with the information, it's just that there's absolutely no reason to share it. I crunch the numbers for the world ranking and it's done.

I understand, the problem is I am a visual person.  So where you list that this cell is this and this cell is that I don't really grasp it until I see it myself and then it is perfectly clear how it works.

I've no desire to see anyone's results or any private information.  I'm simply looking for the bones of the spreadsheet for my own personal pleasure.

My sponser didn't call and warn you about me did she?

She did. She told me you were standing in the room when she made the phone call to me, so shame on you for not picking up on that hint — you know, you being a visual person and all.  :D

You could construct your own spreadsheet (amazingly, I haven't!) all the information is there, it might not match exactly what Metro has done but so long as you're using the same data and the same formulas (all freely available) then you should get the result

The World Ranking has just been updated to include results from the Random Wishmasters Quartet. For a lot of players, that event was their 3rd finished event, so the ranking is growing nicely with many new players added today. If you're curious as to how players moved up or down from the last published ranking (August 9), then hop over to the Guide World Ranking as Carl has not updated it with the new data from today.

The World Ranking has been updated to reflect the performance of players in Romantic Interests. Not too much change, really. The top 3 have a secure lock on their positions. TheCub did leap ahead to 4th place. I picked up one place as well since Delgar dropped below me. Winning her first event, Schipperke also picked up a spot in the ranking. Congrats! Several new players were added to the World Ranking since Romantic interests was their 3rd finish, including staffer TommyT.

Indeed you are. Well done. And the hot score you've already posted in da Vinci pretty much guarantees that you'll be moving up even more very soon.

Do we have to complete a certain number of challenges to be included in the rankings? I know I've only participated in one challenge that has been closed, but I love to see my progress.

Correct. 3 is the magic number.

With the da Vinci Challenge now in the history books, the World Ranking has been updated. And WOW...I was beginning to wonder if omega2alpha would ever relinquish the crown, but LenaLJ did finally climb to the top. She grabbed 2nd place in da Vinci, plus that event was her 11th finish which means I was able to drop her lowest performance (WR is based on the 10 best finishes of a player). I was also able to drop NancyJ's and omega2alpha's worse performance since da Vinci was also their 11th event.

It's going to be interesting to see who ends up winning the title at the end.

Great job, Lena and great job to everyone who moved up! :)

Wow my score hasn't changed at all! That can't be good! Maybe I need to practice instead of jumping in head first!

It did change, but I think I accidentally skipped over you when updating. It's corrected. Yeah, if anyone notices that their score is the same, give me a shout because the chance of a score remaining the same after someone's new result is almost non-existent.

The World Ranking has been updated with the results of the Grim Reaper's Skill Challenge of Sorrow. Not too much change at the top of the standings, but there were a significant number of new additions to the World Ranking. Welcome all new ranked players!

Oh, I know. It's scary close...you're right. I just meant that actual position did not change with this update. I think anyone in the top 3 has a chance to win it all. But, here's the bad news — I'm leaving for Florida for a week on November 20 and the Tournament Finale ends on November 21. Ugh. That means in all probability I will not be able to update the World Ranking until I come home. I'm going to have to spring for a laptop one of these days, so I can take work with me.

Well, it's the moment a lot of players have been waiting for — the final 2010 Tournament World Ranking. The top 3 players have been separated by a hair for a long time, so it was anyone's chance for all the marbles. NancyJ came out on top and it was simply due to the fact that she won the Tournament Finale event and I was able to drop another event when computing her average. What happened with Lena and omega2alpha is their performance in the Finale actually turned out to be the event I dropped (World Ranking is based on a players 10 best finishes), so statistically speaking it was as if they had not participated at all! If 30 players had turned in scores and omega2alpha still had finished 4th and Lena still had finished 5th, then it would have been an entirely different scenario — I would have been able to drop one of their other events.

So, that's a wrap on the 2010 Tournament. My thanks to all 121 participants from this season. That number is just mind-boggling to me and it's only going to grow next year. Look for bigger and better things in 2011!

Let's all give a round of applause for Metropolis Man!  He ran this tournament season like a finely tuned machine.  Almost all of the ideas for the challenges came from him and they were all so much fun.  Well done for 2010, Tom!  We're all very excited to see what challenges 2011 will bring.  Enjoy your break from hosting challenges and come back even stronger for the 2011 Tournament Season!  Outstanding, Tom.  Just outstanding!

I would also firstly say thanks to metro for these great challenges.
After that im proud to be on second place even though i had hoped i had won.
I have been calculating for days and even if i ment that i should have won i must have calculated our score a tad not right. But it doesnt matter, congratulations NancyJ thanks for the great fight for the first place.
