An experiment in Genetics
« on: March 14, 2011, 09:49:03 AM »
Meet Mya Experiment. I tried to make her features as distinctive as possible. I aim to find out if I can keep as many of her features in colouring in the family as possible.

I haven't taken many pictures of the story so far so sorry about that.

Anyway Mya has married Leighton Sekemoto they have had seven children five are blue and two are normal coloured.

This is the first born James. He has his mothers mouth and eye shape. Plus he has her skin colour. His eye colouring is from the Sekemoto side of the family. Hair colour is random green/brown.

This is Delphine she looks almost identical to her older brother except the eye colour.

This is Daliah she looks just like her sister except she has her mums hair colouring. Oh and her daddys skin colour. She is the only one of the children to get the pink, purple and orange hair.

I aged the older kids up quickly and had Delphine marry Christopher Steel. I feel that Chris has very strong genetics.

Meet Dandelion Steel the only thing she gets from her mum is the eye colour. I would have said that the hair colour is totally random but Sekemot descendants seem to produce a lot of blond babies.
Delphine is expecting again. So I will let you know whose genes win.

Next time watch Bella kissy lips Bachelor take on the might of James Sekemoto.

Interesting experiment, Ratchie.  I've always wondered about genetics in this game.  Are you aiming for a particular number of generations?

I haven't really thought about how many generations. I have been aging the children up early so I can use original townies in my experiment. This means that some poor young lady is going to have to reproduce with Arlo Bunch.

OMG, I almost shot coffee out my nose when I read this!  Maybe you can take all the lights out of the room when they...y'know.

Arlo reminds me of an ugly Gary Bussey (and that's not saying much - that boy is seriously yuck and plays some whacked out characters in the movies).

Gary Busey is also on the new Celebrity Apprentice, unless he got fired last night.

Oh man, I'm so glad I don't watch network TV.  If Trump isn't enough to make me gag, good ol' Gary sure would be!

Gary's still in it.  Lisa Rinna got her walking papers.

Are you planning on using a male sim as your primary breeder at some point in your experiment?  It would be interesting to know if the mother's genetics has more influence over the base skin color or not.  Likewise, there aren't a lot of dark skinned sims in Sunset Valley (or anywhere for that matter lol), so how do you plan to experiment with the slider levels?  Or are you not planning on going that deeply into it?

I will do a second experiment with a male founder to see if that makes any difference. As for darker skinned Sims there are a few that have moved into town so they will be involved in the experiment.

Christopher and Delphine's second child has been born.

Other then her fathers skin colour she has inherited all her other features from her mother.

James and Bella also welcomed their first child.

She certainly has those kissy lips from her mother. Apart from the eyes little Nambia Bachelor is her mothers double.

This is Mya and Leightons fith daughter. She is married to Mortimer Goth. She is one of the very few Sims I have ever seen that suits this hairstyle.

This young lady is Briar Goth in my opinion she takes after the Goth side of the family.

So far the blue skin has lasted just one generation. Mya's sixth daughter is now young adult so I am going to see what happens if she has a baby with a darker skinned Sim.

Mya and Leightons son was born he looks like his mum but has his dads skin colour. His eye colour is totally random but I am loving the green.

Meet Heath Sekemoto isn't he just adorable. I bet he has cute babies one day.

In other news Catania and Mortimer are expecting their second child and Valencia Sekemoto is expecting her first child with Arlo Bunch she is still living at home with her parents.

I'm a little confused.  Is it Delphine or Daliah who married Christopher Steel?  Your text says Delphine, but it's Daliah who has the colored hair in your first post.

Delphine married Christopher, their second child,Daffodil, has inherited her grandmothers hair colour.  I meant to put that in my other post sorry for the confusion. Neither of the Steel girls have either of their parents hair colours.

Nicely done on this so far ratchie.

Random information. I have a black haired male, light tan. Wife is Morganna Wolff, and yet their kid has blue hair with a bit darker tan also. How is that for weird genetics?

Arlo nose or no Arlo Nose, that is definitely a step in the right direction of you ask me.

Evolution is a process that takes many generations.  :P

Arlo Bunch is now a proud grandfather to twin girls.

This is Helene she is the pretty twin.

This is Arlene she is not the pretty twin.

Here they are all grown up.

Helene doesn't look too bad. She is not the prettiest Sim in the world but I have seen worse.

Arlene on the other hand seems to have inherited more of the Bunch genes then her sister.

Awesome experiment Rachel! One time I created a couple, Ima and Mia Ugly. I did really weird things to them in CAS and I got to the third generation before I couldn't take the ugliness anymore haha.

So were those two as a result of 'The Spawn' and Malcolm Landgrabb?  If so can I see a picture of 'The Spawn' as an adult please?  ;D

Loving this though  :D

Just to recap.

This is Dorothy.

She had a baby with Malcolm Landgrab. Her name is Ella.

This is Ella all grown up. She is the proud mother of Helene and Arlene.

Next I am going to let both twins reproduce just to see what happens.

At least the others look somewhat decent.
