To all Challenge Tournament players —

I will begin cleaning up this entire board very soon, perhaps as early as today or tomorrow. It just depends on how motivated I am. :) Anyway, events that have closed will be moved to the Graveyard, and I'll be working on the new Stickies for next year's Tournament as well. I already have a pretty solid idea of the general 12 challenges that will be offered in 2012, so don't be surprised if this thread also finds its way into the Graveyard eventually. Just remember that I read all suggestions and all PMs for challenge ideas.

Thanks.

There will still be 12 challenges?  That's almost as many as this year.  Are they going to be shorter in other ways, such as fewer sim weeks or fewer multisim challenges?

The main thing is you'll have far less juggling to deal with — there will only be 2 events ever running concurrently. One Minor and one Major will start at the same time. The Minor will run 4 weeks and the Major will last 8 weeks. So, for the last 4 weeks of the Major, that's the only thing on your plate. I think players will really like that and will allow them to focus and play more efficiently.

Are there any ways for us to help you out, Metro?  Name what you need; I know we'll all pitch in to help you.

Wow, thanks so much for the offer to help. :) Gheez has not been around in a long time and her spreadsheets were quite helpful to assist players with the more complicated scoring challenges. If someone can pick up that responsibility that would be awesome. I really think the only other thing that's a major concern to me also centers around scoring and the scoring tables. Each one has to be perfect before I compute the world ranking. I sometimes miss a player's post where they submitted a score, or I may have just updated the table incorrectly. So, I need a couple dedicated players to be willing to call me out when errors are made.

I realize you already said you had all the challenges made for next year, but I still wanted to put forth an idea.

The Audubon Socity Challenge.

The goal, to paint a picture of every bird that comes with sims3 pets.

Scoring based on time to complete and a multplier based on the quality of the paintings.

I just took a look at some of the spreadsheets Gheez made.  They are quite elaborate!  I don't think I could come up with anything nearly as nice (or as pretty -- hers are visually appealing as well as functional).  It would also take me some time to figure out how to get them from my machine to being available for everyone else.  I'd be willing to learn but I hope someone with more experience will also give it a go.  It would be nice for you (Metro) to have several options from which to choose.

On the other hand, I tend to be somewhat detail-oriented, so I'd be more than happy to audit scores, if you'd like.

Thank you, folcon. That's a nice idea. And I don't have all ideas locked down yet, so that one may happen. I'll be looking through this whole thread again — even if I move it to the Graveyard. There's some great ideas in here. It's just that I won't be taking too many chances with unproven challenges because to be honest, I want my swan song year to be the most successful to date.

@SimPoseyYum, thank you as well for the offer to help. An extra set of eyes is all I really need. BellaClo has also offered to help out with spreadsheets. I do not think the first two events will even require a spreadsheet, so it will not be an issue for awhile. The first event definitely will not.

Thank you Metro.  I just wish I didn't have to wait until after Christmas to test it out myself.  Seeing as I won't be able to get Pets until then.

I'll also volunteer for spreadsheet-making, as needed.

And Metro, Gheez has been around recently; I remember thinking "What, what?" when she posted in the Building Challenge Rules and Instructions thread.

Challenge Idea:

I know it's not much of an epic thing, but I was thinking of doing something similar to the Immortal Dynasty for Sims, but for ONE breed of pet, such as a family of six (6) horses/cats/dogs, and only the immortal of that breed can have the LFR of the Young Again Potion for Pets.

You'd only be able to have ONE Sim and ONE of your chosen breed, and use most of the rules of the Immortal Dynasty Challenge for your animal family. Granted, not ALL of the rules would work, since it would be animals instead of Sims, but it just might work.

I've also not played around with pets enough to find out if you can make portraits or sculptures of your animals at the foal/kitten/puppy, adult, and elder phases, but something like the Museum would be great for your pet family.

You can make portraits but not sculptures of pets, as far as I've been able to determine. Presumably you can also take photos since there are new photo collections.

I know you probably won't be able to ever do this but a version of max skills:
Start with 6 sims one from toddler child teen YA adult and elder.
Max as many skills and challenges before they age up or die.
