I've been having some problems with the Gold Digger LTW lately. I marry these rich sims, then I kill them. Then I see the ghost and have a nice conversation with it but I don't get rewarded. As I'm talking to my spouse's ghost it says my relationship is fiance and not husband or wife. Any advice??

My advice is to post your question in the General section.  ;)

I had looked at that thread and many others already and there wasn't anything in them besides complaining and talk of a glitch. But I do know that Metro successfully completed that LTW... but never mind.

Nope. Gold Digger is one of a handful I've never done.

You should post your additional questions in that same thread.  Even if it didn't give you the answers you need, it's the right place to ask more questions.

I was reviewing some of the topics on the forums when an idea hit me.  Has anyone proposed a gnome hunting challenge yet?  It could be time based and see how many you get.  There are other variations as well.  What I like about this idea is the fact that it really is all random.  You either get one or you don't.  What do you think?

Yes, it has come up tiff_jewels. In fact I have an off the wall idea for an event next year revolving around bingo where players try and find as many gnomes and ghosts as possible. The idea is jotted down in my workbench thread.

If you decide upon that then you need to be aware that there is a cheat that spawns ghosts.  I've listed it in the cheat thread since I couldn't find reference to it.

Cheats are rarely allowed in challenges, so that should not be an issue. But, thanks for the heads up.

No problem on the heads up.  I'm aware that cheats are not normally allowed but isn't it nice to know ahead of time so you can be sure no one uses them? :-)

Challenges are always played on the honor system, so my knowing ahead of time of a special ghost spawning cheat has no impact on whether or not someone decides to use it. But, we've got a great honest group of players, so I'm not worried about that.

I'm confused.  In your other challenges your players are listing loopholes for you yet you did not assume they thought each of them would cheat.  Why would you then imply that I believed anyone would be dishonest when I attempt to do the same?

I can't say I appreciate this as it puts me in a bad light with others.  I will refrain from helping in the future in order to avoid this from happening again.

This certainly doesn't put you in a bad light. You just joined the forum. We know that challenges are usually without cheats and we know that everybody here is honest but you just joined and you may have had experiences where people cheated and didn't tell they cheated. You just tried to help and I certainly do not respect you less because of this.

@tiff_jewels, first of all thanks for telling me the ghost spawning cheat. If I didn't say that, I apologize. You seemed to be implying in your original statement that my knowledge of this cheat and whether or not players would use it or not are somehow connected. That's all I was commenting on.

I took the time to look over how everyone is in the forums.  If there was a possible loophole, your members stepped up and asked about it immediately rather then assuming it would be allowed.  I merely did not wait for the creation of the game to do this.

Any person who takes the time to inform Metro of a potential loophole is far from a cheat.  I often think my thoughts out and immediately forget people are not psychic and do not know the thoughts behind my statements.  I apologize for this and refer back to my first post informing everyone that I do at times have problems coming across with my thoughts.

All I ask, in the future, is if you believe I am implying something or implying about someone, please ask.  Almost 100% of the time you will find I merely did not explain myself properly.

Thank you for your kind words Illuminator and Metro.

You will always get a straight answer on this forum and all anyone wants here is to just have a good time and enjoy the forum and all it has to offer.  There was no harm done and I think at one time or another, we all have asked or typed something that sounded totally different than it was intended.  So it is all good and just remember, all you have to do is ask and there is always someone that has an answer.  No one bites on here, as of yet anyway, lol. ;D

A cheat is not a loophole. Anything that involves opening up the cheat panel and typing in a cheat code is clearly covered in the blanket rule "No cheats or modifications allowed." that you will find in almost all challenges. When we bring up 'loopholes' it is to bring to Metro's attentions something he may not have considered, and more importantly, is not already covered in the rules (or to clarify what is said in the rules). There are grey areas within 'normal' gameplay that sometimes need to be discussed/clarified.

Metro was not implying that you think we're going to cheat unless he's notified of a cheat, he was just saying that he doesn't need to know all the cheats because there is a blanket ban on using cheat codes unless stated otherwise in a challenge ruleset.

Indeed. And well said, Nancy. This is the main reason why I post a full challenge rule set an entire week in advance of the start date. Depending on the challenge parameters sometimes very little is brought to my attention and the rule set needs no tweaking at all. But, there have been several times where players will bring things to my attention that immediately need to be addressed. It's only to everyone's benefit to level the playing field. I feel really lucky that we have so many high caliber players (like Nancy) that are completely willing to share with me things they spot on rule sets. I'm still learning the game like everyone else, so the more eyes I have examining the various potential loopholes, the better.

If I may point out, you have stated rules where certain cheats are allowed.  I merely exercised the exact same consideration to you as other players.  I had the impression this was resolved between us with a simple explanation and an apology made on both sides.

If people will be so kind as to let this issue drop I would very much appreciate it.

Many Thanks and Kind Regards :-)

I have stumbled across a new challenge idea.  This one is a beaut and quite appropriate.  It occurs to me how ironic it is to have challenges ran by someone with the name Meteor Man and me not having any meteors until I do the challenges created by him.  How about a tally score kept for the whole year.  You get one point for every meteor that hits you in your challenges.  The catch is, the challenge must be ran by Meteor Man or it doesn't count.  I think that is appropriate, don't you? ;D

Hmmm....so do we need to wait until a Meteor Man registers for the forum?  ;)

Metropolis has to be another name for Meteors.  I swear I never saw one until I started the challenges.  Of course, you could make an honest woman out of me and change your name?  No?  It is still a good idea for a challenge.  We could add fun screenies and I could link them to my theme of 101 uses for meteors.

You are correct Thomas, Metropolis is a very large city like Chicago, London, New York, Los Angles to name a few.

tiff_jewels, that does sound fun.  I'd probably lose though...I have had exactly ONE meteor hit me since I started playing Ambitions.  I haven't even seen my fireman save a child yet.  Or get an angry gnome invasion.  *sigh* My poor, uneventful games.
