This challenge is now closed, folks. Great job to everyone. Sorry I could not personally lock horns with you, but I will be putting the gloves on for the last 3.

@ClayMask...wow...what can you say about that amazing score? Unreal. I can't wait to hear what tricks you had up your sleeve in this one.

Thanks as always to all participants. :)

I'm going to go ahead and submit a score even though I wasn't able to finish because of two of my files were getting so bugged that I had to give up the files and start over twice!

Tom, NOOOO! I was typing my submission and you snuck in under me!!!

Ok.  And Metro, would you put beside mine that I was hampered by bugs in the game that were making me have to start over.

Cinn had 168,624
Antonette had 202,551

Total:  371,175

Please double check my numbers.  I'm a bit over-tired while doing this.  Thanks.

Thanks :)  My main trick was to repeatedly spawn the wish to make a radical reparum potion and satisfy that wish with as many sims as possible.  Is this what you thought I did, Seabody?  I have a feeling you figured this out.  I'll go into more details about this and other things I did in the hall of fame entry.

Huh, I haven't done much with potions but I've only seen that wish come up when I reached the level of logic that I could create it. I assume there was something specific about that potion as opposed to the others?

Yes, if most of my sims entered the room with a broken item they would get a wish to make a radical reparum potion.  Once this wish was satisfied, the wish would intermediately respawn, and could be satisfied again (and again and again endlessly).

What an amazing trick.  :D

I'm working on the Hall of Fame entry at this very moment.

Congrats ClayMask!

Looking at your amazing score again, I was trying to imagine how many radical reparum your Sims have made during this challenge... And I got lost in the count. But all I know is that it was many many potions. I'm looking forward to read your entry in the hall of fame for your other tips and tricks.

It was a little boring, but easy to manage them since they were almost all doing the same thing.  I think I got through the challenge a lot faster this way than if they had been doing a lot of different things.

I bet it is as mind-numbing as the 3000+ repetitions of performing Two Steps at a Time in the Rock Star challenge. :)

The wish to create the radical reparum potion must have a lot of points attached to it? More than a 1000 points per wish?

It is a 500 point wish, and takes half an hour to satisfy as long as logic has been maxed.

I added up the amount of radical reparums that my sims currently have between them, and it is 6622.  They also normally gave them away as gifts if they were satisfying a wish to give a gift to someone, so there were probably another 50 or so made.

Wow, ClayMask, that's amazing, and a well deserved victory for the patience that went into completing the same action that many times!

Very impressive - it must take a lot of patience on your part to make this much amount of potions. :)

What a clever idea, ClayMask!  I suspected it would be something along the lines of a repeating wish.  I did something similar, though with less commitment and therefore far less dramatic results.  My Sims would roll regular wishes for pillow fights, as all Sims do, but then they would roll it again as soon as it was satisfied.  It meant stopping them and asking them to start again, but I took advantage of that when it happened.  I also bought certain items they wanted, then deleted them so they could roll the wish again.  I can't tell you how many kid ovens I bought.  I wish I'd thought of that sooner; it would have been quite easy to have a minimally furnished house and buy objects as they were desired and delete them to purchase them again the next time.

Yeah, that was a key strategy for me last year...exercise till stinky...bam, the washing machine and dryer wishes fire. Purchase, delete, rinse and repeat.

Thanks.  I did the buy and sell thing too, but I guess I forgot to mention that in my hall of fame entry.  I also tried doing the pillow fight wish which I noticed would normally only pop up when the fun meter was a little below the halfway point.  This meant it popped up a lot when Crystalflight was writing.  I didn't do it that much though because that one actually turned out to be pretty hard work for the points, since you had to cancel it each time.  The wishes also stopped once the fun meter reached the halfway point.  It was nice when they only asked to pillow fight and that satisfied the wish, but sometimes they would go up and hit each other with a pillow instead of asking and that took a long time to stop.  I think there was also a similar repeating wish to play hopscotch, but this was even more work.

With the buy and sell wishes, a weird thing I found was that authors also get the wish to buy a music box a lot more often.  I wonder why that is.

Is this what you thought I did, Seabody?

Actually, no. I thought you got extremely lucky and received "Great Adventurer" as a LTW (or whichever the LTW is that spawns 60K LTHP when completed. I'm fairly certain it involves VISA Level 3).
And I wasn't joking at all when I said my random sims looked exactly the same.
They did. It drove me bananas.
EDIT: Could that be why I have a dancing banana for an avatar? We'll never know. *cue spooky music*

Ugh, speaking of the random component, in the family that got fried in the storm, the wife had the long, straight hairstyle that hangs in front, and that hair glitched through her very large chest in every single outfit.  It was driving me crazy.  I always like to stick to what the game gives me more or less, but that's the sort of thing I always fix.  Did she roll any wants for a makeover?  No, just her husband, about twelve times.   >:(
