LOL last week, sorry about that.  I stumbled across the option to change my display name to Teresa which I prefer.  Didn't even think about how it showed on the list.  ;D

Last week? Lol. There's my brain on auto pilot again. No biggie. I just need to change the name in my world ranking spreadsheet and on the world ranking post itself.

Hi everybody!
I have some questions for Tom and for all of you.
My sims Amanda Rock became a rock star and now the problems begins. I invited people to the party at 9AM, everybody left between 1PM and 2PM exept Connor Frio who stayed until 4:36AM the next day. He made the drinks to himself, urinate on the floor, slept on the floor, danced, turned the music on and off, I even went to sleep but he still stayed. I think that this must be some kind of bug and that we had to be allowed to return to the previous save.
The next week the same thing happened with Assari.
The autograph session turned me mad. Amanda stood still for about 50 sims minutes although there was plenty of space. She signed 3 autograph in 4 hours!!!. I tried with the option friendly introduction but it was the same. I really don't understant what's wrong.
Tom, thanks for all the pm answers.

@Agneza — I've had guests that won't leave either. It's really rare, so it's a tough call as to whether it's a bug or not. But, I'm okay with you going back to an earlier save to see if you can avoid that. Everyone should leave after a given amount of time, so someone staying well over 12 hours is kind of ridiculous.

On the autograph thing, I know what you mean there as well. You just want your Sim to get moving faster and cannot figure out why they will not.

Hi Tom!
You made my day with the first part of Your answer. The second one sounds like a riddle to me. Probably it's a part of a strategy so I'll try to figure it out.
I dreamed an idea for the new tournament but I'll write it to You on another occasion when I'll have more time

I have a problem. Not thinking I decided to get married and have a baby  ::)  On my first day back to work my rock star won't stay there.  She goes into the building but then bounces back out and ends up in the alley.  I have tried to send her to work like six times but every time is the same.  I hope someone sees this soon as my game is paused at the moment.  I don't know what to do  :-\  I will try to reset her and send her back to work.  Has this happened to anyone else?

Yeah, if the reset does not work then try an earlier save next.

The reset didn't work.  I even tried to quit work and rejoin the career but she still won't go to work.  Just going to quit without saving tonight and try an earlier save when I restart the game tommorrow.  I just hope that works.  I will let you know.  Thanks Metro.

Everytime I think I am going to do well I don't!  Oh well, these are really fun even if I have some of the lowest scores  :o  Thanks for the challenge--without it I wouldn't play these various aspects of the game.  I like it!

Tip               Concerts            Autograph         Epic Party            Total
151               4644                 1300                 1.6                       7923

Well I ended up having to revert to the save before she got pregnant, two saves back.  I lost about a sim week.  Every time she got maternity time off she refused to stay at work after the baby came.  If this is too far back let me know and I will just scrap this challenge.

Well, this was a lot of fun but I really did a horrible job. LOL. There are a couple things that might have helped me if I had done them differently, but I'm not sure they would have helped all THAT much, kind of excited for this challenge to be over so I can hear how people were throwin' up those huge scores. :D

Violet Cross threw 12 parties, and all were epic, 'cause I'm awesome like that. So my multiplier was 1.6.

Her best Autograph session was $4200, her best tip only $427 (womp womp), and her best concerts were $1,985 and $2,272. So I think my final score is 14,214.

I've taken a quick break from playing, and now I'm back to start this challenge. I'm on week 2 right now, and really not getting anywhere. Trying to pick up the pace, though. :D

George Harrison's best tip was $4940; his top two concerts were $2163 and $1975; his best autograph session was $7400, for $16,478. He threw 16 parties, 15 of which were epic.

Grand total = $28,836.

Great fun, thanks!

Hurray! I just finished my first challenge. Had loads of fun. Thanks Metro for organising these awesome events.

And now the score:
Best tip: $831
Best Concers: $2058 and $1979
Best Autograph session: $7500
And finally, during this challenge I realised that I'm very bad at throwing parties. Maia threw 13 parties only 8 of which were epic. Oh well.

The grand total 12368 x 1.4 = $ 17315

The 3 Sims living in my challenge house just decided to disappear, like that, together. I could save, although it was a bit complicated because the pointer was stuck in its "grab hand" form. I'll try to recover this buggy save with resetsim and all the usual tricks.

But if it fails, I guess I can go back to the previous save? (that would be the Week 5 day 7 one)

Yeah, whatever it takes, you've got the green light. Are you patched up? I'm assuming so given it's a requirement of all challenge players, but just thought I'd ask.

The game is patched up to 1.22.9, the release of Generations. So I was up to date until yesterday, and I haven't yet installed the most recent bag of bugs indeed. A new huge dilemma in the life of a Sim player, to patch or not to patch...

I expect all challenge players to patch up asap with whatever is current. That keeps the playing field as level as possible — it's not fair if some players are playing under buggy conditions and others patch up and no longer have those bugs. Now, I realize that with every patch comes new problems. Lol. I'm just sayin'... ;)

There is a joke hidden there, no? I'm not sure I understand you very well...

Anyhow, I'm all supportive for the leveled "battle field", so I'll patch tomorrow. I might even completely reinstall if I'm in a better mood than tonight  :D

Now, I'd like to suggest an idea for next year's rules:
We must have our game up to date with the most recent patch level when we start the score file. But whenever a patch is released during a challenge, and that happens quite often, the player can choose to patch asap... or to wait until he/she is done with the current challenge. What do you think? It could be seen as a strategic choice too: do I rather play with the old bugs or the new ones? And now, it's time to sleep!

That gets a thumbs down from me. You must have your game up to date at all times. All challenge players do. And it's simpler that way. Once you throw in choice, then rules get longer with unnecessary explanations. I can't control how fast everyone plays and when patches are released, but I can insist on everyone who plays challenges always patch up. I'm always willing to make accommodations in case a patch whacks things out, but you have to at least make the effort.

All right, it's good for me. At least I'll have tried.

EDIT:

Metro, I'm officially requesting permission to restart :'( Reloading from the previous save just led to the same bug at the exact same moment. Incredible! I'm on Week 6 day 3 (so Tuesday) and there is something very wrong happening around 10.28 pm in my town. Does anybody have an idea? I could go back, if allowed, to an earlier save, but since I have no idea about what can be the culprit of this bug, I don't know how far I would have to go. I'm not devastated... but not so far. Restarting means I'll have to do the same (potentially quite repetitive) things all over again. meh
