Metro, do we have to keep all the nectar we make until the final moment of the challenge, or can we sell it whenever we want. The reason I ask is I don't want to waste space in the incredibly expensive nectar racks on nectar produced very early in the challenge - I know it's value will appreciate, but when rack space is at a premium maybe it's better to sell the truly bad stuff? Plus it will challenge players skill as to when to sell and when not to sell  :-\ ?
Finally Good Luck to everyone taking the challenge, and a welcome to all new competitors too! Ooooh, I'm so excited!

Sell it whenever you want.

You're on the leaderboard — player #22, in fact. And this begins on the 22nd. That's got to be a good omen for everyone that this will be an awesome event! I wish it were Friday!

It is friday here and i'm away laughing! I have created my sims and got a start on building a little house....although depending on finances, may scrap this and just have a basement! Mind you, I'm getting a little sick of hobo living.
Good luck everyone!

You're obviously in the central part of USA along with me. Yeah, I won't be able to start until tomorrow. I'm going to take this challenge a lot slower than I did Perfectly Happy. I don't think I made any glaring mistakes in that one, but this is going to require a lot more micromanagement. With two Sims there's just no getting around slower play. I like it.

Bingo! Yeah, I live in the Central US. I don't what it is, I just play slow it seems in all my games, or I don't play much at a time. I'm never able to play more than an hour at a time, and that's not even the case on weekdays when sometimes I can't play at all (well, it's play or be on the forum). Oh well, at least we have 10 weeks to finish each challenge.  ;D

Good luck everybody! I can't wait to start, but I have some other things to do. Unfortunately where I live it's 7 hours later than where you live Metro, it's already 3:00 pm and I'm not sure if I'll start today... How long do people usually take to finish a challenge as long as this? Again good luck everybody!

Some players, myself included, took only a few days to knock out the Perfectly Happy Challenge and that also covers the same time length as this event. But, this challenge is different in many ways. I don't think I'll finish this in less than a week. Wrapping it up in 2-3 weeks seems about right. At least for me.

You're in, Da Vinci. Get well soon.

---------

Zeus and Hera are now in France. I'm hoping I didn't wait too long to make the trip, but if I did, so be it. Now I need to get all of my ducks in a row for what needs to be accomplished while in France.

In terms of the vacation to France, do both of the characters have to go? And, for that matter, could you take one on one trip and the other on another?

This has been talked about in a previous page, but you can do whatever you want as far as taking one or both sims to France. Read the rules carefully and your question should be answered.

Argh... gonna have to start over already!  Dang 3 days goes by fast in France!  Totally missed getting the pomegranates because the owner of the house picked them before I could and then the trip was over before there were more to harvest!  lol

Do-overs are permissible I'm assuming?

Ugh. That's a bummer. No, you had one shot at this challenge. It's in the rules.

AriaGirl, if you did have money received from nectar sales from either Sim, then please add them together and make a post so I can update the table. Sorry it ended so early for you.  :(

I had no nectar at all.  :(

Sure I can't start over?  I think I'm going do it again anyway, even if it doesn't officially count.

Yeah, I'm sorry, but I'd had to give everyone a second chance if I allowed you to restart.

Metro, are you going to update the rules to prohibit the carter display?
Also note, nectar bottles found around or made through display appear on nectar-making journal when sold (for the highest price bottle sold and total money made with nectar fields).

Someone already brought this to my attention and I made a rules amendment this past week...

Nectar $ -- .... IMPORTANT: All nectar sold must have been made with a nectar-making machine.

One question... I know our total is only to count what we made ourselves, and to this end, we probably wouldn't sell till very late in the game, BUT, if I find a bottle while I'm in France, can I sell it at some point and make a note of what I sell it for and then deduct this from my total. I was just thinking that if I need money at some time, that could be a help.

Hi Norma.

Metro will need to confirm this, but I feel the rules are pretty clear about not selling any nectar that your Sim doesn't make.  Part of the challenge is being able to finance your ventures and I don't think a premature selling of nectar you find fits within the ruleset.  My couple, Hercules and Hebe Argos, just returned from France with some bottles of nectar that was found in various places.  As soon as they got home, I took the nectar out of their inventories and put it on top of the kitchen counter.  I'm just going to let them drink it.  :D
