Thanks Pam. If they find any, I think I'll do the same as you.. keep it away from what they make and just let them drink it. I haven't started yet. Because I have done very little nectar making, I am playing a few test subjects to get the feel of it all and one of them found a bottle which made me wonder about selling it off.

Your Sims will appreciate it, too!  They do love their nectar!  Lol.

Just a confirmation, here, Twinmum — Pam's right. All nectar sold must be made with the nectar-making machines.

Twinmum, I'd do what Pam said she does with any nectar she finds, not makes, and just have your sims drink it. If it's any good, which most nectar I find is at least Nice, you can get a good mood boost.

I'm not gonna go ahead and update because it's been a week and a few days since they've started, but this challenge is going GREAT. I'm loving it.

Funny story, though; I wanted to make identical twin brothers, so I used the create a twin tool, but I forgot to rename the second one, so I have two Nathaniel Vincents. Fortunately, I remembered to change the second one's traits to what I wanted them to be.

You can change their names at City Hall during normal business hours.

I know, but it's not impeding anything and it's kind of funny.

Did you change their features, or is one a clone of the other?

The only difference is their traits and LTW.

Interestingly, in my mind, I've given them completely different personalities because they generally do different things.

I'd like to have a go at this one too - I haven't tried Nectar making yet, so it should be a fun challenge
We could learn a lot from crayons:
Some are sharp, some are pretty,
Some are dull, some have weird names,
And all are different colors....but
They all exist very nicely in the same box.

I've started this Saturday because I couldn't play on my Rose Cuisene for the perfect challenge because I forgot to sync my two computers before I was up for the weekend.

The idea of the gods for this challenge made me name my two sims Gaia and Dionysus Godnec. They are in the middle of the 2nd week and all is going after my plans.
But because I'm playing 2 challenges at a time, I am mixing them togehter in my head the whole time right now. Can't wait for getting home from work so I can play.

I gotcha on the board, Kaibilly.

Our hosts, Zeus and Hera, made a lot of nectar over this past weekend. But, it's slow going. I'm only halfway through the event and now sit at the beginning of Week 8. I think I'll pace myself and play one Sim week per day this upcoming week and wrap it on Sunday.

This is a fun challenge!  I'm on week 6, it's amazing how long it takes to get all those perfect fruits!  I'm still bummed that I didn't get the pomegranates in France, but I think it will be alright anyway.  #22 may be exactly where I'll rank in this challenge, but it's fun anyway!  :)

It really is a fun one (if I may be so bold in saying so). I built a pretty large nectar basement thinking it would take care of all of Zeus and Hera's space requirements for the entire 14 weeks. Boy, was I wrong!

Yikes!

I built a big basement too, and nothing else.  So they just lived in the basement for the beginning of the game.  I just recently built a house on top so that I could move them out of the basement to make room for more wine.  Hopefully I bought a big enough lot! LOL!

Who better to take up the challenge than Zeus's son Bacchus, and his lovely mortal wife Ariadne. The young upstart is determined to show his father his potential as heir to Mount Olympus. Currently on day 48 of his trial, the nectar making is going well, although it's difficult to know how well, as all the other competitors for the laurel crown are keeping their cards close to their chest  ::)

I'm really enjoying playing the challenge, but until someone actually posts a final total for their nectar making efforts I'm not sure if I'm doing well or not. I'm hoping to be finished at the weekend, although I'm not rushing this. Hope everyone is having as much fun as I am, and that all challenges are going well.

Well done Metro on actually remembering to buy your nectar makers at the last minute. I also nearly had a catastrophe. A burglar came on day 12 of my challenge and took 2 of my nectar makers. Thank heaven (or Zeus) Bacchus actually kicked her butt, and got them back. That was a close call, and I've since invested in a burglar alarm  :D

I've got another of Zeus' sons competing.  Hercules and his wife Hebe are a fine looking couple!  I also had a burglar come and steal a butterfly and a nectar making machine.  As soon as I heard the burglar music, I got Hebe out of bed to call the police.  Thank goodness for the butterfly!  Because the burglar took it first, the police had time to arrive and jump the burglar in the basement before he left and I got my machine back.  I've also installed an alarm now!

Hi Pam, glad you got your nectar maker back too! Hercules eh! Now he might be tough for poor old Bacchus to beat. Bacchus and Ariadne are good lookers too - but then Ariadne is the daughter of Helen of Troy, the face that launched a 1,000 ships (supposedly) Good Luck for the rest of the challenge  :)

Maybe not when Father was well, fathered a bunch of half-bloods (half-god, half-mortal). My Sims will be Percy and Annabeth Jackson (Percy Jackson and the Olympians for the win! ;D)

I am going to join this one, it sounds great.... Now just give me some time to get WA! Figured I should announce my joining now, else I would get the upgrade and get started (and possibly finish) before announcing my intent.

I gotcha on the board, meamalso.

It doesn't look like this is going to take me as long as I had originally thought. I should be done in a couple days.

-------

EDIT: Just 3 more days for Zeus and Hera. I played quite a bit today and just want to wrap this up. I'm very anxious to find out how much all of their nectar is worth after it's all sold. I slightly misjudged how many nectar racks I would need and had to buy more for the finish. So, I had to sell nectar to be able to stock the last few days worth. Go figure. Yeah, I made a few more blunders on top of that one. Nothing catastrophic and game-breaking, but annoying for me. I know I could do better if given a 2nd chance. So, that's just something I'll have to wait for whenever this challenge is revisited. I'll have my results posted by tonight.

Alright, everyone. The moment you've been waiting for.....our hosts are done and they racked up (ha ha ha) over 6 1/2 million in money earned from nectar sold. I was pretty surprised it was that much. I guess I really didn't know how much it would be given this is uncharted water for a challenge.

So, the bar has been set. I think it's pretty high, but as I mentioned before I did make a few minor blunders that may open the door for someone who can put together a better game than Zeus and Hera.

Good luck to everyone else!
