Congratz Metro! I've yet to finish the Perfectly Happy Challenge (not even half way :o) But I'll probably start this challenge soon. ;D

Good job Metro!  I too am still working the Happy Challenge, but I have started this one.  I think I'm in week 1 still...guess I have my work cut out for me!

Congratulations, Metro!  Awesome job!  I'm in week nine for Hercules and Hebe.  They are machines, poor things.

Great. Sounds like you'll be posting your results soon. I'm looking forward to seeing how Zeus and Hera stack up. I mean I "think" I did well, but you never know. I certainly was taken to school in the wishes department in Perfectly Happy. You're never too old to learn new stuff.

Wow, sounds like an impressive score Metro. I'm just about to start this challenge with my mortal couple. I've been playing a couple of test subjects to get to know my way around nectar making, but I think there is a lot of room for improvement - I'm not sure I'll do too well, but I figure I may as well just jump in. Anyway, someone has to post the score that makes everyone else look good.

Awesome Metro!  I'm on week 7 with my couple, and honestly, their days are starting to get pretty repetitive!  lol  At this point I kind of wish I were done with it, but I'll keep on goin'!  After this I'll probably never want to see another bottle of nectar again!  lol!

Awesome score Metro, Bacchus really has his work cut out! I'm not sure if that score is beatable, but I'll give it my best shot. I'm currently on day 68, and have nowhere near that amount  :'( Still, the profit goes up exponentially, so I may get close, who knows. You certainly excelled though, well done!

Incidently, did you find growing the right amount of some fruits a real pain? I currently have just over 400 pomegranates, and hardly any life fruit. If I don't come anywhere near your score I think it will be down to my own mismanagement of crops  :(

Yeah, it's quite a juggling act. I think the whole gardening/nectar combo and the fact that you're dealing with two Sims really turns this into an art form. There's some hard science to it — important decisions that need to be made early on or else things can really turn south. But, just the day to day garden management and nectar making is really subjective. There are just a million ways you can approach it. Despite the fact I'm fairly skilled in gardening and nectar making, I found myself making fewer mistakes and becoming much more efficient by the end of the challenge. So, I'm still learning.

The gardening can be calculated fairly simply using information on the guide if you know which recipe you're going to use and you remember to factor in fertiliser.

My problem is still finding a recipe. I think by the time I've finished my analysis I'll never want to make another bottle of nectar again. I'll probably be the last to submit my score. I've only analysed 82/1080 2 ingredient combos and I'm already having to take a break to play Dragon Age. I was hoping to use flavour prediction to reduce the number of recipes I needed to analyse but I've found its broken, the predicted flavour has no bearing on the actual flavour, something it says goes well together are no more likely to yield a good outcome than one it says will be terrible :(

over 6 million, good job! I was wondering if we were in general going to end in the six digit range or the seven/eight, but the winner (and possibly 2nd and 3rd) will probably be a few million above the others.

I think scores will be quite a bit different among players. Think about it. Let's say you and I had identical games except for one thing: let's say I outproduced you at the same day when you started stockpiling nectar into racks and was able to put one more rack in the basement that day. Everything else might have been a wash, but that one difference would be huge. Depending on when a player did start stockpiling and which recipe was used having one extra full rack could literally translate to 40-50k extra. Crazy.

Take them out finding seeds or gems/metals every few days and they won't be Stir Crazy.  ;)

Very Stir Crazy!  And if we take them out hunting for gems or something, that's time lost on the nectar makers!!  Noooo!  ;D

I've got about three weeks left on the challenge.  Is there an easy way to sell all this nectar or do I have to open each rack and sell the bottles individually?

Edit:  Poor Hercules and Hebe!  They are so tired of making nectar that they both keep trying to go to bed even when their energy bar is still half full!!

WA downloading! I realize now that I need some time to figure out all the travel, new skills, new plants, new... I am sure there are other things to learn. Anyway, I do have all day tomorrow, and have a good idea of the tests I need to run to determine how I want to go about this. I hope my tests go better then I fear, if so I will have a new stratagem, if not then I will buckle down and try to beat Metro at his own game!

I agree with Metro that the amount will vary enormously in this challenge. There is also the original top price of nectar made to be factored in. On Carl's guide it's mentioned that nectar produced with 9 life fruit and 1 pomegranate (perfect quality) can have an original value of $653 - I've never seen anywhere near that amount, with the average bottle coming out at around $505. Strangely the value varies according to whether it's made by Bacchus or Ariadne - not wildly, but by a few simoleans :o I wasn't expecting that to factor in at all.

Samoht04 is a fellow Brit by the sound of things? 5p is 5 pence, or a 20th of a British pound. They're really small and fiddly, like an American dime, so a lot of us Brits save tham in jars to help pay for the site fees of their holiday caravan  ;D Well that's what I do with mine anyways.

Ah, I see.  Thanks for explaining, Mordana.  :)

I'm finding it harder to play through the final stretch on this challenge.  It's all mindless gardening and nectar making now.  Making me cross-eyed!  Lol!  But I shall carry on until the finish!  The worst part...  I miss my toddlers!!!!  Waaaaaaaaa!!!

I'm only running 1 sim for my testing but I've found recipes vary by 1-2 simoleons by batch using the same sim. Out of interest, do you know what kind of processor you have? On extended nectaration with improved flavor and flavorful feet I get a value of $493 for that particular recipe. But I have other recipes that are better but still not found one that tops $600 per bottle though. I've speculated that given the way the values are assigned that whether you have an AMD or an Intel CPU is the deciding factor in whether that recipe is your best but I really only have a data-set of 'me' on the AMD side.

NancyJ, I'm useless with computers, but I think I have an Intel CPU. I'll ask my husband later to confirm this, and if I'm wrong I will amend, but I think I'm right. My machine is really old though - over 5 years, although it has had upgrades. I never expected to be able to play the Sims3, but my machine still has enough power left to surprise me sometimes  :)
