This is taking longer than I expected, I am not used to managing 2 sims (first time doing so since I played The Sims 2). This is really slowing down my gameplay, plus I have a big test this week that I need to study for. I am guessing it will take me a week or two to get done. Astarte and Lu Yan are doing well, but they feel they are lagging because of only getting one life fruit in my first set of special seeds, and one later. However, I think I will still be able to pull a great score!

There's no big rush.  The challenge just started and you'll have a few weeks before the final cutoff date.

Not any of them. You can use Super Green Thumb, but as per the rules — Moodlet Manager is banned.

Yay, I started. Have done some recipe testing with high end ingredients and such and I'm pretty happy with the results. Just heading into week 2 and so far so good. I have made a few little mistakes, but nothing too serious (they probably haven't been as happy as they could have been).. maybe after a few sim weeks, I'll have the hang of all I should be doing

The highlight of the whole challenge for both him and Ariadne was hitting elderhood and finally being able to woohoo for the first time  :-[
Uh, am I missing something? I haven't started this challenge yet, but is woohoo banned until elderhood?

I think there is a very small chance of kids from woohoo, and you are only allowed to play the 2 starting characters.  Therefore the only way to guarantee no accidental kids is to avoid it.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Nope. You're not wrong. I don't know what the chance is and that has never stopped me from having only Woo Hoo and not Try for Baby. That Social for a couple is the best thing in the world. Although the funny thing I found out over time with Zeus and Hera, and I did know this before but was simply reminded of it — if Woo Hoo is all you do, then there's definite relationship decay. It's actually enough of a decay that by the 9th or 10th week they would turn each other down with Woo Hoo, so I had to break out some other Romantic socials to build things back up.

I would kind of be in a pickle as to what to do if a player did get their characters pregnant by accident. There's no way I would disqualify them. Hmmmm...I don't know. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

I have done quite well tonight - I think and all without cheats, they are only on like week 1 and have very high skill levels. Bottle is the nectar maker and we have two full racks, she is reading the skill books any moment she can between helping cork and nectar making. I am low in cash, but oh well. Cork is level 8 gardening after planting over 93 plants :) He enjoys watering them!!! Bottle is also on lvl 6 gardening thanks to tend garden. I also managed to get plums, pomegranates and pomelos whilst in france :) But my collection is worth about 775 and I have 26 bottles. I guess skills are the best thing so far :) Anyone else have this kind of start? I thought it would be quite hard, but it's okay actually.

Anyone else have this kind of start?

I do not want anyone to outline their strategy and detail what they did in the beginning. But, I will mention that Carl and I agreed that the start would essentially make or break anyone in this event — the choices made, etc. And there's a million ways you can approach things.

DONE!  Whew!  Towards the end it's a lot of rinse and repeat, at least it was for me.  I was able to get $2,170,350, and that was without pomegranates so I think I did pretty good!  Lets see if I make the top 10. lol

I'm actually really excited about when the time frame of this challenge is over and we can discuss strategy because I'm sure there's a ton of different ways to approach this challenge.

Sorry, Metro, if this seemed like a strategy, but I have none.  :D  I was just wondering about skill levels and other things because, as you can see, my collection isn't very good.

My couple have thrown the want to woo hoo a couple of times, but I denyed them.. be just my luck that Suzi would get pregnant and she just hasn't got the time to be waddling around throwing up or running around after a baby/toddler.
Week 3 and all is going somewhat to plan. I'm keeping a brief record to see how my strategy stacks up against others.

Well, I'm half way through week 9 and I know I'm not doing too well, but I am learning a lot about nectar making and gardening, and that's what it is all about for me :-)
Does this take anyone else absolutly ages? I always go through at speed 3/4 but it takes me several hours of real time just to do 2-3 weeks!  :o

Yeah, that sounds about right. Especially if you're playing in a challenge and going for 0 mistakes. I'm still surprised I knocked this out in 4 days, but those 4 days were really long and filled with a lot of play time. I pause the game a lot too to get my bearings.

Edit from Pam:  Yes, it did sound mean and it's not related to the challenge, so let's not get into that discussion here.  Thanks!

Hercules and Hebe are doing very well since they retired from the nectar making business.  They moved to a mansion home, but it was just too big and didn't really have a homey feeling.  It was more than large enough for lots of kids, but it just didn't feel like home.  They found out that the Wolff family had vacated their chateau on a secluded section of the beach and bought the place.  They have redesigned the interior of the house to make it roomy enough for their growing family.  It's a lovely home with everything they would ever want.  Persephone and Rhea are teenagers and another set of twin girls has joined the family...  Athena and Kalypso.  I won't post pictures of them because they are exactly like their older sisters.  Both have their mother's eyes and one has her mother's hair, while the other has her father's hair.  They are adorable!  They spend their days playing with their toys in front of large glass walls that overlook the ocean and surf.  The grueling nectar making schedule is nothing more than a hazy memory for Hercules and Hebe. Lol.

My sims are envious Pam! They have done quite well in getting certain seeds (which cannot be named  ;D) . They have both maxed their skills, one in gardening and the other in nectar. My collection is not worth a lot at all. It is easier with a couple as they don't mind peeing and showering in front of each other  ;D, I'm wondering if this is usual for it to be a really lousy start? I found a few special seeds and one looks like a money tree!!!! Sorry if this is a bit to much of a plan! But I don't really have one!

[It was too much info, samoht04. Please don't mention specific fruit or rewards that's part of your plan — Metro]

I dunno, I have two twin brothers, and I had to build a little tiny shack for them to pee and shower, but it was like 3,000 bucks. I feel that's a small price to pay for not getting emotionally attached to their relationship. (They don't need to talk to each other every day and I don't feel bad because they're merely tools for making nectar. Bahahaha)
