Little Persephone and Rhea are grown up into teenagers.  Here they are with their mother, Hebe.

I'm kind of glad to see the wide range in scores, because I'm really not sure how this will turn out for me! I already know some big mistakes I made, but we'll just have to see what happens! I haven't played recently because I went out of town, but I think I'm on week 5 and I'm going to try and finish it this week!

I love that top/dress(? cant tell from the pic) pam, is it from EA store? Playing on my boyfriend's computer I don't have any of my custom clothes :(

This is going to be a tight one. I didn't think I was going to get anywhere near Metro's score (in fact I wasn't sure how it was even possible!) but I just ran a simulation on how my final 8 weeks are going to go and I might just make it - assuming my maths is right. I just wish I'd thought of doing that before I started, then I'd have been able to plan better lol. I don't think my sims like each other much now though, I line up to get them socialising and they walk off and do something else :( At least they've stopped wanting a baby.

I've made so many mistakes though because I've been rushing. If someone has a flawless run I reckon we could see scores topping 8 million.

Hey, and I thought I took challenges too seriously!

EDIT: Pam, Persephone looks like she'd fail a breathalyzer test -- bigtime!

Heh, well what can I say, I'm a nerd ;) And I have too much spare time when my boyfriend takes his computer back. Of course I haven't factored in machines breaking in my simulation or sims being rudely awakened due to burglers, its really just a simple compound interest model.... and as I'm typing this I'm thinking of so many things I could have done better heh.

Tell me about it. I didn't make any real game breakers, but I could have done a few things differently. It certainly would not have pushed the total to 8mil. That seems really unlikely.

Its amazing what a big difference little changes can make when we're talking about compound interest. I was amazed when I ran the numbers. Before I did the maths I didn't even see how 6 million was possible, I think 8 will be tough but doable.

Hey, if you can do it great! The downside is that anyone that beats Zeus and Hera's score may possibly be banned from the forums. But, don't let that distract you!  ;D

Hey, Nancy, what in the heck are you doing on the forums anyway? If your boyfriend is taking his computer after the Super Bowl tomorrow you should be playing, playing, playing. It took me 4 days to get through the challenge, and some days were well over 6 hours of play.

He's back on his computer now, I had yesterday evening  during the rugby, this afternoon during the other kind of rugby and then I get 11pm-4am tomorrow (superbowl). So far I've been taking about an hour per week so I probably wont be quite finished tomorrow. I'm going to have to find some chores for him to do lol.

I've just found this forum and these challenges sound like a great idea! I'm gonna have a go at this nectar making lark LOL Can you add me to the leaderboard please?

Looking forward to doing lots more of these challenges too.

Yes, it's from the EA store.  It's a long, formal, mermaid style dress.

I believe they did dip into the nectar at this party.  Lol!

I told Astarte and Lu Yan about the 8 million possibility. It was kind of hard to understand what Astarte said, but I got the gist that she thought they had made many big mistakes leading to weeks of little production. Surprisingly she seemed to think they could still pull in the 8 million if she can keep Lu Yan from drinking to much of it! Some how I doubt it, but we will see. They have 10 days left, I hope to finish today!

Nice pics Pam!

Is there any easy way to sell the nectar rather than just dragging and selling? (Not that I'm anywhere near that stage...) Can it be sold by selling rack or not?

Just use the option to take all from each rack, and then you'll get an enormous stack in your Inventory which you can sell. The way I did it is I'd sell after getting to the end of one of my basement rows. Doesn't matter obviously how you do it, but you definitely don't need to constantly sell each rack.

Ok, this is just embaressing. I wouldn't even bother posting, but I spent so flippin long I can't just throw it out!!
I eventually gave up at week 10, day 3. To be honest, and no offence Metro as it has nothing to do with your challenge-making skills, I was really not enjoying it any more. I had made some bad decisions about a few things, and took too long to get some other things, and then 2 of my nectar makers got nicked by a burgler! I thought I would throw in the towel and count my losses so I could have a break before the next challenge.
Ok so here we go....this is a truely TERRIBLE score, and very shameful!!
Are you ready...$114,881.
Yes, after 10 weeks. SIGH!
Ah well, I will reveal what NOT to do when the challenge has closed!!

kat, I'm sorry to hear about the bad luck with the burglar. That's just terrible. Thank you for participating, kat.

Oh, kat!  What terrible luck.  You're such a trooper to keep on and finish the challenge.  I know it's hard to keep on with something like that when you get a bad start.  Kudos to you for still submitting a score!

kat, sorry to hear about that. I almost had the same problem, the day I brought my nectar makers back a burglar showed up. I was just glad that I had decided the worst thing that could happen to me was having them taken, so I had set up two burglar alarms! I seem to be paranoid about fires, burglars, getting electicution, and death. I almost turned in at about the same time you did, this challenge feels a little long. I also have a big list of things you should and should not do. I would guess most of our notes are the same, the difference being how badly they effected us. Again sorry to hear it was so bad for you. As for myself even though I had several bad weeks, I also had twice as many great weeks! So, my final score after picking thousands of fruits and vegetables, and producing thousands of bottles of nectar Astarte and Lu Yan were able to stock up $8,018,330 of home made goodness!

Wow! Great work! After this is all over you might just need to share your secrets with me.  :)

I finally got back to playing today, I thought I was on week 5, but I was only on the beginning of week 4. After playing most of the day I made it to almost week 8. It's slow going! But overall I think I'm doing better than I expected, and some of the mistakes I thought I made turned out to be somewhat good things.

The main problem I'm having (besides getting a little tired of the monotony) is my silly Sims constantly running over to the sprinklers! They are sneaky little Sims and I'm always having to cancel it out of their queues. I'm beginning to think they are doing it on purpose and trying to rebel from all the nectar making.  :D

Congratulations on such a fantastic score!  That's really just amazing!  :D

That's hilarious!  I think you may be right about the rebellion, though.  Mine kept going to bed even when their energy bars were still half full!

8 million  :o We may have the winning score there!

About the sprinklers, since I am a nice creator for my sims Cork and Bottle I let them play because the moment they get up they are at work, so they often have some period of time where they don't do anything.

Wow!  8 mil!  That's awesome!!!

I also have the sprinkler playing problem.  Ugh... it must be set at a really high fun level for them to want to play in them all the time.  I kind of think it should be one of the things that only childish sims autonomously do.

Well done meamalso2, that's a remarkable score - and there I was thinking Metro couldn't possibly be beaten! So when will Astarte and Lu Yan be moving onto Mount Olympus?  ;)
