Getting so sick of this challenge. >.<

What do you guys use to motivate you? I'm only on week 8 and I'm already considering cashing in and never doing another challenge.
I am curious why the challenge is 100 days long?  Don't your sims age into elder status in like 42 days if you start as young adults?  Unless I cheat and eat ambrosia or life fruits, I am lucky to even see 100 days old starting from an infant.  Without ambrosia, Or life fruits, I can't imagine anyone being able to survive 100 days to complete the challenge.

Maybe shortening the challenge durations to 50 days would help eliminate the tedium of repetition.  I know that when I was palying out this challenge to see if I liked it, I was also bored with the same day every day...  Pick 100 plants in my garden and make wines, eat, sleep repeat.   Because I generally build my house in the lot where the public pool in in your back yard I was able to pop the stir crazy debuff quickly.  Still, the repetition once you hit your maximums is a real downer, especially when it takes a lot of micromanaging to remain efficient.

Also, it's a good thing that you specifically left out the transmuting display.  I used it to make my nectars before I reread the rules and wondered how everyones numbers were so low.  Like I said in the post on the other thread... transmuting is by far the fastest way to make money in the game.  In this case, you get bottles of nectar that are over 90,000 a bottle.

If you read the rules, you need to change the lifespan to 'long' :)

Besides the fact that kat already explained that you need to set your lifespan to 100, I've never known eating ambrosia or life fruits to be considered cheating in a challenge on this forum.

Hi Tyler and welcome to our Forum!

As the others have said, the rules state that you need to set the lifespan to "long" for these 100 day challenges.  And, yes, it's true that it gets tedious at times, but that's just the nature of some of the challenges.  If it were all easy, it wouldn't be a challenge!  And as others have suggested, you can take a break from the challenge and play something else if it gets to be too much.  As long as you finish by the deadline, you'll be fine.  I hope you decide to participate in our 2010 Tournament.  It really is a lot of fun.  :)

Hey, Tyler. Welcome to the forums. Yeah, this one admittedly is pretty lengthy. Perfectly Happy is also 100 days. But, Tournament players get a nice break with the 3rd event which most players seem to be averaging around 2 weeks of game time. So, it's literally a day or two for you to knock that one out.

I'm halfway through week 3 and it's starting to get tedious, but I think I'm doing okay. My collection is not worth much. When does it all go into hundreds of thousands if it does when it ages?

I had no idea how much my collection was worth until I sold all of it at the end of the challenge. ;D

My only clue is because my Sims have the LTW Bottomless Nectar Cellar and it tells me, but that's just without aging, I think. I am very pleased with myself today because I have just grown my first Life Fruit Plant  ;D And if that isn't good enough, what if I said there's 3! I also have a money tree :) and a Flame Fruit Bush! I'm only on week 3 day 5! Is this a good start?

I finally finished this challenge. My total was $2,567,395. That was a really long challenge. I think I'm done with nectar making, but glad I gave it a try.

I finally started playing this challenge. So far, i am pretty content with my strategy, even though i would do a few things different if i were to do it again, but nothing major. The only drawback was my incredible luck with special seeds, of the 15 that i have grown so far i got 2 Flame Fruit bushes, 5 Death Flowers, 7 Money trees and just a single life fruit plant >:( . I just hope i can make up for that with my gardening and sim managing skills. At least it looks like i will not have any money problems ;) .

At least you have money trees... no more selling fruits or gems to make money for nectar racks!

ik, don't worry about that too much about a single Lifefruit Plant. I got more flame fruit and less money trees.  I made some other mistakes later that cost me, just do a good job with what you have and you still have a shot at first place. I did figure out how to tell if I have a Death Flower seed or Money Tree seed before planting. I don't think this is to much info here, so death flower and money tree seeds are $0 when you check their price, and money tree seeds are brighter then all the others. You can also learn some about their quality from how they rank as fertilizer, but I do not have those details.

Ok, I have an update for this.

It is toward the end of Week 6, and Tepoztecatl and Colhuatzincatl (a.k.a. "Tepoz" and "Col") just returned home from their trip to Champs Les Sims, France.

They each have mastered the Nectar-Making skill and have achieved the Flavorful Feet challenge with over 180 bottles of nectar made, each!

I ran out of life fruit on my second to last day, so the final batches of nectar were definitely below their capabilities, but every little bit helps!

I just hope I have enough time left to grow, harvest, squish, ferment and age my way to a respectable finish...

P.S.- With all the life fruit I'm growing in this challenge, I figured "what the heck" and have had both my sims eating it on a daily basis!  Eternal youth is miiiiiiine!!!

I'm going to have to withdraw from this challenge, as my laptop blew up last night, and my husband had to reformat, forcing me to lose everything I have done.

About 3 1/2 weeks, so not so far in that I'm mad that I lost them.

Ack. Sorry to hear about that. This is totally out of your control. And I have no problems with you doing the challenge over with another character because of technical issues. I'll leave you in the table for now.

Did one of them travel?  I've seen Sims age differently because one of them has traveled and the other hasn't.  Not always, but sometimes.

They have traveled but it is a common bug on my Game, it happens straight from when they are in CAS. The only way to fix is with life fruit or ambrosia or age off. Before you ask I don't use Mods.

Thank you, Metro.  I will let you know for sure if I'm re-starting, as I want to play for a little bit to make sure it's not going to happen again.  I'm still trying to re-load things.

I'm pretty sure this isn't a bug, it happens naturally in the game, as the game purposefully makes sims you make in CAS not the same age, unless they're twins. I think this is to add variety but I think the reason your gap is so large is because you started on long lifespan so 11 days isn't much for long lifespan.

I was going to take a break from challenges for a while but I changed my mind. I had never made nectar since I got WA, but I've been experimenting with it the last day or two and it looks like it could be fun. So Hannibal Necter and his wife Clarice are ready to go.
