A quick question, when it says skill challenges, that would be like supermaxing a skill right?
I have the same question. The challenges are the ones from the skill journal right? Not the skill opportunities that pop up?  Also to max a skill we just need to get to level 10, not supermax? Can't wait for this to start, I love working on skills.

Yes, it would be like supermaxing a skill, in other words only the ones in the journal counts. Opportunities are optional I believe. Getting skills to lvl 10 will increase your score, the skill challenges will increase the score multiplier.

Looks like a fun challenge!  It also looks like one that requires Expansion Packs.  If I have just the Vanilla game and nothing else, am I at a serious disadvantage?  That doesn't mean I won't try; it just means I won't feel quite as bad when I do my best and still get a truly abysmal score  ;D.

You will have around 7 skills and there challenges less than a person with all expansions.
But as Metro always says, he makes these challenges for people to have fun with, so as long as you have fun, dont even think about the scores :D

Hmmm that'll definitely make things more challenging for me.  Ok, thanks for the info!

Having fun is number 1!  And so far I'm having tons o' fun!  Not to mention how much I'm learning about the intricacies of the game.  So far I've only participated in one challenge (still working on it) but it has made me think of the game in many new ways.  That's definitely a good thing!

That said, the competitive side of me can't help thinking about my score.  The little voice inside keeps saying, "I'm making a tasty and nutritious salad with just lettuce, tomato and cucumber, but imagine what I could do if I had access to onions, chickpeas, mushrooms and more!"  ;D

I think if you max the 10 skills -- athletic, charisma, cooking, fishing,gardening, guitar,handiness, logic, painting, and writing -- and complete all their challenges, you'll have a very competitive score.

I love this! i have an issue with remembering not to cheat, so this will be awesome. I was just wondering if for the music skills you can queue and cancel perform interactions for the tip challenges? it is a cheating challenge, so i  hope so.  ;D

As always, if something is not banned, you can do it.

This sounds lika an awesome challeng, I'll get right on it.

I have a question though (as always :D), do we only count the skill challenges from the maxed skills or from any skills. What I mean is if I have a charisma skill level of 5 and I've completed 2 of the challenges nevertheless, do they count?

Yes, they would definitely count. Maxing a skill is not a prerequisite for a completed skill challenge to count.

Yikes. Don't know where my heads been. This already started. Off to get a low score haha. I assume teleporting and deleting moodlets are banned like with the Grim challenge right Metro?

Yep. From the rules...

  • You have unlimited use of Make Needs Static and restricted use of Buydebug. All other cheats are banned.

Good luck you big cheater!

Thanks. I'm going to need it, I may be a big cheater, but without teleporting, well that's why I got such a low score in Grim.  ;D Good luck everyone!

Good luck Esther!

Yay, Make Needs Static, cool. Actually my last attempt at supermaxing every skill was back in December, so yeah, I have experience. ;D

The only experience I have of supermaxing anything is the immortal dynasty but that is no help here because I don't have eight generations to do it in this time.

Science Nerd says: Your math needs more cowbell parentheses.

This:
Total = 13000 + 1500 X 1.75 = 25375
is false. 13000 + 1500 X 1.75 = 15625 is true.

Multiplication always takes precedence over addition, except when parentheses are used, which will override the standard order of operations.
Like so:
(13000 + 1500) X 1.75 = 25375

Science Nerd out.

If it is going to be that complicated to do the math needed for the score I'll just turn in my info and let someone else have the headache of calculating it  ;D

Primrose Peregrine has been worked hard and is ready for some relaxing vacation time (and a shower).

Scoring
19 maxed skills = 19000
0 skill points in non-maxed skills = 0
36 skill challenges X .05 = 1.80
Final multiplier = 1.00 + 1.80 = 2.80

Total = 19000 X 2.80 = 53200
