Salon Only Hair

Before today, I had never sent my sim to get a makeover at the Salon that came with Ambitions. Today I did (mid-life crisis wish) and found 3 new hair styles that I had never seen before! I checked the mirror back home, and they were gone. Is there really some hairstyles that you can only get at the Salon? Does anyone know if there are other Salon-only things like makeup and outfits?

Yes. There is special hair for male and females (3 or so each) at the salon. There might be special clothes but I'm not sure.

I've used the unlock outfits cheat and they are indeed there, along with the bad and good makeups. I have such fun with these! I adore the lovely new short styles for females. :)

There, I think that's all of them, apart from the messy "Bad Makeover" hair you can get with unlockoutfits on. You'll notice that two of the short ones can be worn by both males and females.

Thanks for sharing Ausette. Hey wait, I believe I was able to get the top third and fourth female styles for my women. Hmm, maybe because I'm using the makeover station nearly always? That must be it, it's not salon-only, but makeover station-only. Mystery solved. Still a good addition. :)

Hmm. The top left and bottom right hairstyles are in the Hair With Accessories section, did you check there?

It's a bun tied with a ribbon, as worn by Zo Whelohff. It should be in the Hair With Accessories section along with the Eva Drudge ponytail.  :)

I'm pretty sure you don't actually need the makeover station as I gave my decadynasty founder it without going to the makeover station.

I just checked, and that particular bun is definitely salon-only. There is a similar hairstyle that's fastened with a large clip, maybe that was the one you were thinking of?

No problem! I use those hairstyles a lot (especially the two short ones), and I thought it was a shame people didn't know about them.  :D

It might still be good to remind about the age reset -glitch that happens when you use the makeover/tattoo station; I got so excited about checking these out I sent one of my legacy twins to the salon and only couple of game days later noticed that she's now 4 days into adulthood while her twin will turn elder in 2 days. Well, I wasn't too serious about that legacy anyway.

Ouch. You're right, it's best to keep that bug in mind when you take your Sims to the salon. Perhaps try using "unlockoutfits on" next time, if you don't mind mild cheating. Seeing your Sim is a twin, you can use a cake to age her up at the same time as her sibling, no harm done. :)

The Middle two Female Hairs are also for Teens, I had my Legacy Spare with one.
