What is a legacy?

When you speak of legacy families, what exactly are you talking about. I have only been playing since XMAS and had a total system crash, so I had to start over. I had just married off my oldest child and poof! It was all gone.

"The Legacy Challenge is a long, 10-generation challenge where you start out with a single founder and very humble beginnings and try to lead the family to fame, fortune and success over the course of 10 generations."

A legacy comes from the legacy challenge.

Good luck!  Looks like fun.  I would take a crack at it, but I only play on the weekends when I also have other things to do as well.  I very much enjoy the game, though I don't actually spend that many hours a week playing it.  I bet the legacy challenge would take me months to finish.

It's basicly just a 10 Generation family with no cheats and you buy a certain lot. (You don't have to follow it word by word - just the cheats bit.)
