Finally I finished the first challenge ever in Sims 3.

First, Sunset Valley Week 1 Day 5 - 3:35 pm
Riverview Week 1 Day 5- 10:34 pm

I was watchful to the hour and I noted the seconds too. It was pretty easy but I enjoyed! Thanks Metro and hope you would make anothers challenges in the future.

[Edit: I removed a part that might be considered too much information for strategies.  -Pam]

Ok, I feel like I'm totally missing something... I'm up to level 6 on all my sims for handiness but the only option I get for any objects in town are tinker.  This can't be right, can it?  I can do self-cleaning and unbreakable on any objects in the home so why can't I do the same for ones in the park and such?  Grrr....

Some nice scores happening. Going to be interesting to see what strategies people employed when this is over. I know a few mistakes I made that cost time, but I also have a few questions running around in my head, so I'm going to do this one again (obviously not for scoring) to test out a couple of theories that I have. See if I can shave more time off. Who knows, what I learn might help in future challenges too  ;D

I had this problem when I was running a single test subject. I found that you have to actually go into the room with the sink, toilet or whatever for the upgrade option to appear. If you click from outside of the room, you only get the use or tinker option.

I'll give this one a try.  I keep thinking of Mike Rowe and his Dirty Jobs show from Discovery channel.

Ok, my third mediocre challenge score, I seriously don't know how you guys do these things so well!  Obviously I have a lot to learn. :P

AriaGirl -

In addition to having clever strategies, I suspect they push their Sims very hard.  The only time I've beat Metro was in the Maximum Moodlets Challenge and I'm pretty sure that was dumb luck.  :D

As long as you're having fun, that's the biggest thing.

Yeah, maybe I'm too nice to my Sims.  I let them sleep and eat too much I guess. :P

Wow, lovergirl did amazing. I figured out how to cut 12 hours off of each of my times, but here are just so many more upgrades in Riverview I do not know how she finished on day 5...

I just finished the nectar making challenge and I'm ready for this one. It's going to be great to have one that can be done fairly quickly. So, sign me up!

Nice scores everybody.
I'm finally finished, tpo. My simmies Tinkerbell Handi, Handy Works and Tommy Works all are getting their nice and needed break now.
They worked well for me and finished Sunset Valley in Week 1 Day 6 at 06:00 and Riverview in Week 1 Day 7 07:00.

If I counted right, I have a score of 277 hours. Correct me if I'm wrong, Metro.

Hehe, when the challenge ends, I would write my gameplay. There are some tricks but not cheats. I didn't use cheats because my computer is weird. When I use cheats, my game disappears at the very next day, so I don't risk it because I already lost 3 games.

And aside from the kaching cheat — which IS allowed in this event — cheats are never allowed in challenges.

Oh, I referred to testingcheatsenabled true for maximum moods. The kaching is ok. The motherlode, too, but when I use the testing, I don't know why my computer deletes my games. I learned to play without cheats and actually that's great because I don't get bored.

Yes, I will be very anxious to hear how you guys made it so fast, I guess I was probably too soft on them, lol.

Ya, the only draw back to this challenge was needing to use the kaching cheat. I had to look up how to use cheats, now I know how to cheat!

I also finally tried the Moodlet Manager while testing some advanced ideas. Now I understand why it is banned, though this challenge is not long enough to earn the LTH points for it.

I don't think lovergirl cheated. She may have made the same mistake Metro made, and missed a location. Or, just a strategy that I have not found yet. Hmm, both lovergirl and I have finished, I will PM her (can't divulge my strategies here any more then she can!)

Everyone plays so different, I have no imagination sometimes and I am sure there are strategies that people used that I would probably never have thought of.  All in all it was a pretty cool challenge.

Ok, I await your pm and I will tell you my strategy. I don't believe that I missed a location. When I finished all, I looked after all spots and I wrote them on a paper. Should I do the challenge again?

Should i do again the challenge ?

That's not necessary. But, your Riverview time is such that I'm wondering if you didn't write down the wrong day -- i.e. 6 days instead of 5. Beating anyone else by a full 24 hours is highly unusual, so you'll need to PM me and share with me your technique.

I have some time off and I will do it again better. I have a back up when I finished Riverview. Maybe I missed some upgrades. I will post the second scoring. If I was wrong, I'm so sorry and next time I will be more careful.

That's the only thing that honestly explains your Riverview time — you had to have missed an entire building/area. And that's okay. It happens. Just go by a sheet carefully and check off things as your team upgrades them.

But if you are right, that is some very good playing!
