Metro - I think I know which park you're talking about. Is it the really narrow, quiet one on the same island as the gazebo and all those other parks? I'll need to go 'sploring in any case.

Yeah, you do because it's not next to the Gazebo. Like I said earlier, look where the two bridges cross the river. It's right there.

Thanks, Pam and Metro ;D I managed to find it. Now I know where to send my sims when they want to harvest wild plants too :)

---------------
EDIT:

I've started this challenge. I'm quite surprised at how quickly they're going through the town. I've started them off in Riverview, since I know that town the least. They finished upgrading it on Week 2 Day 4 at 10PM.

You know when they get transfered to Sunset Valley, will they keep all their lifetime rewards and skill levels? I hate having to send them to the toilet all the time.

They will keep everything in inventory, all LTHP awards, all money and all skills.

Margerita, with that information, I had the courage to go on and finish ;D

So, I finished Sunset Valley within the first week - on day 7 - and at 11PM. Talk about cutting it close.

Challenge #2 for me. Sign me up please. It looks like it should be relatively short.

I just received a PM from someone asking how to score the first day. ALL days are to be scored at 24 hours, including day 1. I realize that you begin at 8AM on day 1, but it's simpler for me to do it that way.

Okay, I'll remove you. Just give a shout if you change your mind. There's still plenty of time to finish. And let me just say (I think I've already stated this) if you're in the table and never get around to posting a score — that's fine. Don't sweat it. You have 0 obligations. I mean, yes, it would be nice, but real life comes first. The day after the event closes I'll just remove anyone's line that does not have info.

OK, the boys from Possum Lodge have finished their upgrades.  Sunset Valley week 1, day 5, 11:23 pm; Riverview week 1, day 7, 8:26 am.  I wanted to include their picture but that's too complicated for me.

There was some duct tape left over so Red has one more upgrade planned:  he's going to attach pontoons and an easy chair to the Possum van and take 'er out on the river for some fishing.  Harold is glad the race is over so he can devote himself to finding a girlfriend.  Interested parties can contact him at his personal website:  www.iamdesperate.hg.  As for Mike, he "forgot" to inform his parole officer of his move from Sunset to Riverview, so for the time being he's footloose and fancy free.   ;D

These Challenges are fun! I'd like to thank you guys for making them up and actually making these available for the rest of us to participate in. Anyways, I finished. I did Riverview first since it was the longest and my time is as follows:
Week 1 Day 7 5:14pm
Then Sunset Valley with the following time:
Week 1 Day 5 5:42pm
Thanks again!

I would like to take a stab at this one, I'm almost done with my career challenge, and this one seems quick. Should have plenty of time to finish it and the career before the deadlines. I'm going to remake Three's Company, Jack, Janet, and Chrissy. I loved that show and I know they are not the handy-type, but I think they would be fun to play out after the challenge is done!

Thanks, Lisa  :D

They may not be the handy type, but neither are Run-DMC and I did pretty good with them. :D

That's for sure, they are certainly not Run-DMC!  ;D I'm glad they did well, none-the-less.

I just found Three's Company to be sort of a spoof on the whole challenge as they spent most of their time breaking things instead of fixing anything and they did it in a very humorous way. I noticed another person had used Tool Time characters and that is a good choice too, very funny.

My Sims for this challenge are up and running, by the way.

Lisa  :)

So I just started this challenge today, and one thing I noticed is that so far I've only been able to upgrade 7 items (all sinks) with self-cleaning, all the others just say wash hands and tinker. Is this a bug, or do I have to wait until level 6 to upgrade them to unbreakable?

Oh I forgot to mention, each person is still at level 4, so their upgrade options are limited.

Right. You basically just answered your own question. Once they get higher in Handiness skill, then their upgrade options expand. Here's the breakdown from the Handiness Guide.

You also have to be in the same actual room as the item to be upgraded.  If some say just wash hands and tinker, your Sim might not be in the same room.

Yeah, yeah, I get that I have to be a higher level to upgrade it for more options than self-cleaning, however they do not even get the option to upgrade to self-cleaning!

You also have to be in the same actual room as the item to be upgraded.  If some say just wash hands and tinker, your Sim might not be in the same room.

Okay, I think this answers my question better. I'll have to try and put them in the same room, then I'll report back.

Oh, I can tell you that's the answer. I didn't realize you were not in the same room when trying to Upgrade something. Pam nailed it (as usual :)).
