I would love to do this one but (big but) I've not even started the Nectar challenge yet and I'm due to give birth in the middle of March - so really not sure if I can do it  :-\.  Feel free to add me to the board but don't be surprised or upset if I drop out again.  :(

Helen, congratulations on the expected new arrival in March! That's so awesome. You're on the board and if you can't do it, no biggie. This challenge is definitely a quickie compared to the first two Tournament challenges, so hopefully you can squeeze it in at some point.

I have created my team.....
For this challenge, we are having a flashback to the 80s. Get out your glamour rock, eyeliner and perms, and please welcome the young TIM THE TOOLMAN and his friends....

Tim Taylor (in front), his good mate Al (back left), and Al's lovely sister Jill are fresh out of college and, wrenches in hand, are ready to upgrade the world! Who knows, if they are really good, one day they might even get their own tv show....although Tim might have to lose that mullet first....

Great team, kat!  Very cute.  I'm drawing a blank on mine.  I first thought to make the Hudson Brothers, who were my high school crush in the 1970s.  But they are music, not handiness.  I guess it really doesn't matter if the theme of the characters is known to be handy, but still.

I'm Going to have a go at this Metro! I know that the Nectar one and this may seem a tricky combo, but I have half term from the 15th! So I will finish the Nectar one before I start!

No it doesn't matter, but I know what you mean; it all just seems so much neater when they run with a theme!

Great picture and theme, kat! I remember doing those funny gorilla sounds that Tim Allen did if I was really proud of myself after doing something "really male!"

Count me in!  I'm off to make 3 designers from Extreme Home Makeover...Ty Pennington, Paige Hemmis, and Paul DiMeo.

Here's my team:

Paul DiMeo in front, Ty Pennington in the middle, and Paige Hemmis in the back.  They even have their work goggles on!

Nice, simfulicious! I like that everyone is getting into the whole team aspect. Pam saw an early version of the rule set and is probably wondering why I canned a spot in the table so players could actually give a team name, but it didn't work. It made the table too long.

Oh you got to have Hilde in there!  Make her a snob and insane.  There must be a room with sand on the floor or something else crazy like that like she would do.  --- Wait, am I mixing up shows?

Hello everyone!
I'm new here and I would like to give this challenge a go.

Too bad I don't have WA yet or I would give the other ones a try as well.

Hi Margerita!  Welcome to the Forum!

I'm glad you decided to try this challenge and I hope you enjoy it.  Until you get World Adventures, we have some other challenges to keep you busy.  They are from 2009, so they don't count toward the 2010 World Ranking, but they are still fun and you'll be put on the leaderboard when you complete a challenge and post your score.  Check out the Challenges board and look for Centurian Solo and Baby Boomer.  Those are the most popular, I believe.  The Trump Challenge is still there, too.  All three of those were before World Adventures came out.

Good luck!

Hi Margerita: Welcome to the forums. I'll add you to the leaderboard, but I strongly encourage you to get World Adventures before beginning this event. You'll be at a disadvantage to other players by not doing so because you're allowed one vacation in this challenge. Take advantage of that. Good luck.

Count me in too please. I should really wait till I finish the nectar challenge before I start this one, so I probably won't be starting on the first day, but who knows? Now to go and think about my team.....

Thank you for the welcome everyone.

I will get WA when I have the money for it, I only got The Sims 3 about two weeks ago when I got a new computer who could handle it. Old one would have had a heart attack with this game  ;D

lol, know how that feels. I decided to install the game on our other computer (Sims 3 on one computer divided between mum and  3 kids that all like the game just doesn't work that well) I figured, this computer could have the whole game and the other computer could have everything except the latest expansion or stuff pack. I really didn't think the other computer was in that bad shape, but it almost went into meltdown every time we tried to just load the game.

Ok, let me understand that. I must upgrade the all things [just 1 upgrade] in the both towns and that's it ?

NOT any objects in Sims' homes. That clarification is in the rules. And yes, it's ONE upgrade per object. Your team only is concerned about the list that's provided. Let me know if you're in.

I don't understand one thing. do we need to go in a foreign country ? I mean, you said one vacation . But that's necessary or it is a optional ?

Yes. You are not finished with the challenge until all objects on the list are upgraded.

Taking a vacation is optional.
