I'm thinking I may take a break from the nectar challenge (currently on week 10 for that) and do this one. I could start now as it is 10am Friday here (Australia), but I think first I need to just run around with a single sim and find out where all these places are and what the items to upgrade are as I haven't really explored most of the community lots yet.

Kat, I can't believe you're already finished! I mean, since you really only played about 2 weeks of game time, that's understandable, but still, that is crazy fast compared to me!

The Winter Olympics start tomorrow so that's going to throw a monkey wrench in me blasting this out really quickly. I'll probably at least start tomorrow, but I'm also going to take this one slow. There's almost no margin for error in this event. In a 100-day event it's different, you can make a couple minor blunders and still do well. Not in this one. Much more nerve-racking.

------

A forum member PM'd me this evening asking me why I always banned the Moodlet Manager in challenges. She loves using it as a real time saver. I'll take this opportunity to explain my stance on Moodlet Manager — I hate it. Period. But, there's a lot more to my feelings than just that blunt statement. If you don't have to worry about Social, Energy, Fun, Bladder, Hunger, Hygiene and can just zap yourself, then you're really removing a lot of the skill necessary from the game. With the Moodlet Manager, you don't need a bed, you don't need a refrigerator, and you don't need to talk to anyone. Zap. A 24/7 robot. No way. I'm in no way passing judgement on anyone that does this in their casual non-Tournament games. But, that just can't fly here. So, #1 — it removes a lot of skill needed for the game. And #2 — if I DID allow it, then how the heck could you compete in many of the challenges if you didn't get it? Forget it. You couldn't. You would be forced to. All your focus would be to acquire that thing asap because everyone else would be too. An entire leaderboard full of robot Sims? That's just not happening.

Ok, I know I posted the other day saying I might have to wait awhile to try this, but seeing how fast Kat finished (awesome job by the way!) has inspired me to try. I basically have tonight and tomorrow to do it... so we'll see how that goes. If nothing else I'll just get it started and finish in March! So you can officially count me in for this one! And I'm going to go play... now!  :)

I must be pretty lame because I haven't been thinking this tournament will be that difficult.  Granted, I never hope to do anything but place on the leaderboard, but still.  I'm surprised to hear it described like this.

Consider the source. You know me pretty well and I can be a little dramatic at times!  :D Not to say I didn't mean what I wrote — just that my choice of words sometimes leans towards the flamboyant.

Finished! I started in Riverview and completed it on Week 2, Day 2 at 3pm. Then Sunset Valley was completed on Week 1, Day 5 at 7pm.

I had a lot of fun with this one and loved that it was a race! I like the 100 day challenges too, but having just finished the nectar challenge is was nice to do a short one. And I think just like with any challenge, I already know many things I could've done differently. I think if I did it again I could take even more time off.

Good luck to everyone else and have fun!

Nice job, annie. I'm trying to play quickly to finish up before the Opening Olympic Ceremonies tonight. You're definitely going to beat my Sunset Valley time, but I'm pretty confident when I move to Riverview I'll beat your time there. Could be a close one!

I'm looking forward to seeing your score! I think beating my Riverview time shouldn't be a problem.  :) That was the one that if I were to do it over again I would make the biggest changes on. I'll be interested in one day hearing everyone's strategies!

I'm just more than halfway done in Riverview. Whew. I think it's going to be really close, annie! If I can somehow finish in Week 1 that will be the key. That's gonna be really tough to do. I still have all of the Library and the Art Museum, so there's lots more to do.

Ok the exhausted Team Farmer is done and the result is very good.

Sunset Valley week 1 day 6 23 hours
Riverview week 1 day 7 9 hours.

This was a very good challenge for my managing skills and lots of fun too.
I will have a good result in this challenge I hope.

I just finished up. Incredibly, it turned out that both my towns were finished at exactly the same time. I don't know what the chances of that are, but it happened. Sunset Valley — Week 1, Day 6, 7PM; Riverview — Week 1, Day 6, 7PM. I remember I finished SV around 7:20 and Riverview around 7:05. Crazy!!!

Thanks, Margerita! Great performance from you as well!! This was a lot of fun. A nice change of pace from the 100-day behemoth challenges.

That's what I was hoping in Perfectly Happy. That wish was quickly flushed down the toilet. I'm anxious to see how everyone stacks up against each other in the world ranking once this is over.

--------

OOPS! I totally spaced out on Lost Willow Park in Riverview. Not hard to do really since you have to move the map around to spot it. It's really far away. But, it's all good. I fired up the team again, and since there were three objects they knocked it out quickly. I adjusted my score to reflect an additional 7 hours. They were dead tired when I thought I was finished and had no choice but to give them all an hour of sleep before sending them out to the park.

I probably won't show up on that ranking yet unless I decide to go for perfectly happy and finish it off quick since I still lack WA and won't be getting it until earliest feb 19.

I almost couldn't find Lost Willow. I had to search for awhile! But even with those extra 7 hours that is a great score! You beat my Riverview time by almost 3 days I think.

I don't think I could do much better on Sunset Valley, but I might go back and play Riverview for fun just to see how much time I could knock off.

I did perfectly happy without WA, you can do well, but if you can get WA before the challenge is over wait to do that one. In my seeing how I can do with WA I have reached my same score and am only in week 9. I would say put it off until you know if you will get WA in time or not.

I will. Like I said, I will know in a week if I can afford it yet or not. If I can't, I will give it a go regardless (of course I will anounce it in the thread if I do).

I had an easy time finding Lost Willow park since I play The Sims 3 in my native tongue, Swedish, and thus had to both translate and figure out which spots it was I needed to do. Got that park done on my first day in Riverview.

I'm just a little confused about the swapping towns. Can someone tell me how you do that and will they keep their skills or not?
